Management is an important aspect in today’s global society because it helps in controlling the interdependence of the relationship between businesses and the society. The management of this interdependence is increasingly important for managers in today’s corporations, public administration, and organizations. Preparations to be effective as a manager would require management education that provides knowledge regarding management principles and functions. In light of the increased globalization in today’s society, the most important skills a manager should possess include strategic thinking, emotional intelligence, collaboration, critical thinking, communication, motivation, feedback, and coaching. Moreover, managers need to see the world not only as a group of national marketplaces, but a source of knowledge, competence, and information (Churchwell, 2003). In order to improve these skills, I will undergo formal training in a university while consulting management journals and articles for more information.
Management by Objectives is a comprehensive managerial system that involves integration of vital managerial activities in a systematic way towards efficient and effective realization of individual and organizational goals. The personal goals I could set based on the outcomes in this program are improved efficiency and effectiveness in leadership and management. These goals will be achieved through commitment to management education and extensive research on the topic. The area I need to grow in is understanding how personality affect leadership style and how to develop the most appropriate leadership style based on personality and other important aspects in management. Growth in these areas will not only include extensive training and research but exercising leadership in various management scenarios that would provide the basis for evaluating progress.

Including systems to measure the output and success of the objective allows for future improvement and to ensure thing stay on track. A company always wants to ensure that their objective is achievable. The tasks should be challenging but not create hardship or frustration. Objectives that are realistic take into account the skills, funds and other resources available to completing the task. The success of the organization depends on how the leaders utilize their management and leadership skills in the organization. Mission, vision and core values of the organization are posted everywhere in the organization to remind every stakeholder about their accountability and responsibility in accordance to the corporate goals. This can’t be effective without successful leadership approach. Effective leader must know how, when and where to communicate the shared vision of the organization to its stakeholders. The goal is to align personal values with the corporate values to reach optimum level of satisfaction towards the work, and the company expectations to its stakeholders. Ineffective leaders are not capable of employing this. Whatever in the campus or workplace, I would face many thorny problems related with cultural difference, management models, communication barriers or interpersonal conflicts.
