Boosting One's Self-Esteem
The way we feel about ourselves has a huge affect on the way we treat
ourselves and others, and on the kinds of choices we make. Here are
some things you can do to protect, raise, or reinforce your
self-esteem.
Long term
In the next 6 months Bianca would have produced a positive self-
esteem. She will feel comfortable and confident with herself.
Short Term
Short term targets I have set for Bianca is to feel confident in
herself. Through out this time Bianca will be using steps and I have
made for her in order for things to get back on track.
Week 1 : Ignore (and stay away from) people who put you down or treat
you badly, do things that you enjoy or that make you feel good.
Week 2 : Do things you are good at, reward yourself for your successes
and develop your talents.
Week 3 :Be your own best friend - treat yourself well and do things
that are good for you. Make good choices for yourself, and don't let
others make your choices for you. Take responsibility for yourself,
your choices, and your actions, always do what you believe is right,
be true to yourself and your values.
Week 4 : Respect other people and treat them right, set goals and work
to achieve them.
If you need to express your feelings at anytime always have a friend
you could talk to whom you trust to help you.
Giving up alcohol
Long term
I have set Bianca a target to give up alcohol completely in the next 2
months or so.
Short Term
Short term target I have set for her is to cut down on alcohol each
week.
Week 1
Decide what your aim is. Do you want to give up alcohol altogether? Or
do you want to cut down to within particular daily limits?
To begin, one of the major reasons that make people who they are is self-image.
I also highly recommend that she take her prescribed medications as directed, especially those for her mental health problems. Because of my concerns with the mixing of medications, her primary psychiatrist and I have created a treatment plan that involves a highly balanced set of medications which treat all of her disorders on as few drugs as possible, thus going off even one of her medications could deconstruct the entire plan. I also advise keeping a food journal to attempt to remind patient H to eat and fight the hypophagic instinct she has. While drinking on occasion is not unhealthy, the chronic binge drinking is, and I would recommend that she cut back on her alcohol consumption and try to develop a healthier relationship with alcohol so it isn’t used as a stress

When defining our sense of self, it eventually comes down to how we interpret our individual self-image. In most cases, we do not truly know who we are from our own mindset. Therefore, we take into account the reactions that those around us have an influence on our actions and decisions. From these external effects, we create the persona of who we are. Throughout history alcohol has been a common drink in social and celebration environments. However in today’s society it is easily accessible, very cheap, and advertised on every channel available. Alcohol has taken over our society, from teenagers to seniors, everyone is exposed to the culture of drinking. That is not the issue though, the issue is in today’s society gluttony is a common virtue and many people take drinking beyond social and celebration environments. Many Americans suffer from a disease known as alcoholism, it is not only the addiction to, but the inability to function without alcohol. Change4Life is a campaign in England warns drinkers that there is an increased risk of serious illness caused by exceed alcohol consumptions. It gave some tips to people to follow such as having alcohol-free days of a week, consuming some low-alcohol or alcohol free drinks instead, and using smaller glasses (Department of Health and The Rt Hon Andrew Lansley CBE,2012). As this campaign is highly exposed to people, it may be helpful to encourage people cut down their alcohol consumption and also to prevent binge drinking (Alcohol Research UK,2016). Apart from this, the campaign introduced a new online calculator to check how much alcohol they are consuming and work out whether they need to cut down (Alcohol Research UK,2016). This in some way solve the problem that the guidelines have which is the unclear definition of units (Boniface et al.,2013:978). However, the influence of this campaign can still be doubted. First of all, the campaign utilize people’s intention to binge drinking rather than behaviours (Hendriks et al.,2012:850). To efficiently prevent binge drinking, developing successful interventions are strongly needed (Hendriks at el.,2012:849). Apart from that, there was no direct effect of the campaigns detected on the intention to refrain from binge drinking (Hendriks at el.,2012:849). Thus, more researches should

Alcohol is a very popular legal psychoactive “drug” that enjoys enormous amount of the Canadians of all ages. Alcoholism is one of the Canadian top issues. In 2017, the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction (CCSA) and Drug Abuse Commission developed the Canada’s National Alcohol Strategy within 41 recommendations to reduce the harmful effect of alcoholism in Canada. It is a long-term program, and so the real results may not be visible immediately to evaluate how successful this strategy is.
Drinking alcohol is associated with many adverse health problems in the short and long-term. These include cancer, stroke, heart disease, miscarriage, premature birth and unintentional injuries. Despite the fact that alcohol brings many negative impacts, many people still choose to drink and do not overcome their drinking habit. They have been successfully seduced by alcohol until drinking has become their addiction. However, some of them try to quit drinking, but they still cannot break the addiction. Basically, quitting alcohol is difficult and almost impossible for them because of brain-craving, lack of belief and support, and weak willpower.
Describe self-concept. My take on self-concept is that it is my self-image or basically my ego. What I feel about myself and what I know about myself. My knowledge and I have learned about myself, the positive and the negative. The me that was defined by my surroundings, peers, parents, culture, race, all that put together and mixed up is me and my self-concept.
In today’s age and the growing trend in American society of “what’s hot and what’s not”, is having a huge impact on young children’s self-concept and self-esteem. Self-concept “refers to the beliefs, attitudes, knowledge, and ideas people have about themselves,” whereas self-esteem is “a personal judgment of worthiness that indicates the extent to which the individual believes himself to be capable, significant, successful, and worthy (392).”
Stay strong with your values and show them in your best way that you are there to honestly
A person’s self-esteem affects whom he or she chooses to associate with, and how they look at different social groups. This is important because then depending on our level of self-esteem, it essentially tells us how we choose to associate with certain groups and not others, or that we choose to not choose at all. This affects how the population develops relationships with one another. Those who think more highly of themselves (in terms of aspects such as race, socioeconomic status, intelligence, etc.) tend to be very protective of those within their social group, and discriminatory against those who are not, so it is harder as a society to develop relationships unless someone meets certain qualities. This could lead to conflict amongst social groups.

When you read this quote, you think of one word, “Self-improvement.” Just with this one topic, you may ponder and ask yourself, “Who needs Self-improvement?” ,“ When do we need to start changing and How do we begin?”,” What will we get from it?” , and the most important question of all, “Why do we need self-improvement?” Self improvement comes from experiences. Experiences that were either blessings, mistakes, regrets, and overall a lesson each time. Self-improvement is a wake up call but will we ever take the chance to self-improve or just let it pass it by?
