Life and Legacy of Mother Teresa

St. Teresa Of Calcutta Historic figure St. Teresa Of Calcutta, better known as Mother Teresa, was an amazing woman. She was born on August 26, 1910 in Skopje. She was the youngest child that was born to Nikola and Drane Bojaxhiu. She grew up in Uskub, Ottoman Empire it was later changed to Skopje. She received her first communion at the age of five years old; she was confirmed in November 1916. Her father died when Mother Teresa was only eight years old, and left their family full of financial problems. She grew up in a Roman Catholic Church and decided to devote her life the Catholic religion at a young age. She wanted to help the poor, but to live with them as well. She founded a school at Motijhil, Kolkata before she began caring and tending for the poor and founding the Missionary of Charity. At the beginning of 1949, she joined a group of other women in examine of ways to help the poor in India. With no income from her father’s salary, her family quickly plummeted, and she ended up on the streets, and begged for food and materials. Sh ehad created a group called the Missionary of CharityBy 1997, the 13 member Congregation had grown up to 4,000 sisters in this group. Mother Teresa has also done many miracles. Another miracle that Mother Teresa that involved the healing of Marcilio Andrino, who was a Brazilian man who was diagnosed with a a brian infection and fell in a coma.
