In the movie, The Renaissance Man Bill Rago serves as a leader to a group students, and leaves a lasting impression on each of their lives. My father, Lee Boyer, does the same for me and many of his students everyday. They both have different ways of leading, however they do have very similar traits as well. Both are naturally strong leaders and are likeable to many, both leave a lasting impact on their students, and they focus on teaching lessons that you will lose for the rest of your lives. Bill Rago was a great leader who encouraged and supported his students to be the best that people that they could possibly be. He has a personality type that can be stubborn and irritable. He is infact a very nice and caring man and he shows this when he sticks up for Benitez and Davis Jr. Another example of Bill Rago’s sensitive and caring side is when he buys his daughter a telescope and an airplane ticket. Although at first it seemed like BIll was just teaching his class Shakespeare because of the curriculum. However, he was really finding ways to teach the DD squad lessons that they will use for the rest of their lives. For example he taught Melvin Melvin rhythm. He made it appear like it was helping him read less boring, but in reality he was teaching Private Melvin how to talk and carry out a conversation. This is the reason that he taught Shakespeare in the first place, he wanted to teach these students how smart they actually are. He taught them how to grow, adapt, and live life the right way. The best leaders in life are the ones that leave lasting impressions on their pupils. Bill Rago did this
