Becoming an administrative assistant seems like it would be an easy job to have.
This job comes with many rolls and different titles. Throughout this formal report I will explain all of these titles as well as what it takes to become a professional administrative assistant. There are so many professional settings that you can work in. These range from small offices to government jobs. If you have ever thought about being an administrative assistant this report will inform you on all the steps, certifications, and degrees needed.
How to become an administrative assistant
“A generation ago, a high school diploma was considered enough prior training for beginning administrative assistant, and that is still the case in some offices” (Fulton-Calkins, Rankin, and Shumack 6) Administrative assistants have a big responsibility and have to have technical skills. In this program of study you have your major courses, which are the OST classes. The OST courses prepare you for professional office settings. Keyboarding and Microsoft Office are among some of the OST classes required.
Taking these classes will prepare you for any setting you may work in. In these classes you will practice making documents, PowerPoints, and some payroll information. As I stated, Microsoft Office is crucial in the OA program. In the OST classes most of them will be based around MO. At the end of OST 136, you are given a chance to take a Word, PowerPoint, and Excel test. Passing the test will you certifications, which I will talk about more in this
