Bath bombs are very popular items today with kids, teens, and adults. Bath bombs come in all different shapes, sizes, colors, and scents. People enjoy using bath bombs because they make bath time relaxing and enjoyable. A bath bomb is made of many chemicals, one is a base and the other is an acid. When a bath bomb comes in contact with water a neutralization reaction occurs (Khan, 2017). The author states, when the bath bomb come into contact with water the solid particles holding the shape of the bath bomb are dissolved and the acidic ions and basic ions then disperse. Collision of the ions produces the “fizzing” reaction. People buy bath bombs to use while bathing to experience the chemical reaction that occurs.
This is What’s Really In Your Bath Bomb

A compound is made up of different elements. Bath bombs were first invented in 1989 by Lush co-founder Mo Constantine. She was inspired by the fast fizzing chemicals of an Alka Seltzer Tab (Hong, 2017). The author states, “She achieved that fizzy base renown throughout bathtubs worldwide with a simple combination of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and citric acid” (Hong, 2017). Bath bombs contain ingredients that are good for your body. Epsom salts helps to reduce toxins in your body, they also help ease muscle soreness. Baking soda also helps in drawing out toxins.
What’s the Chemistry Behind Bath Bomb
In the video created by Sophia Bohand and Emily Elving they state, “the equation that describes the reaction that causes the bath bomb to fizz when submerged in water is NaHCO³+C₆H₈ O₇→ Sodium bicarbonate which is the base reactions with citric acid, which produces: CO₂+H₂O+Na₂C₆H₅O₇.
The Complete Periodic Table
The elements on the periodic table make up everything in the world. Hydrogen is one of the chemicals that make up the bath bomb. Hydrogen is the building block for all the other elements of the periodic table (Basher, S., Dingle, A., & Green, D., 2015
Alka-Seltzer is made up of baking soda, aspirin, and citric acid which gives the tablet the fizz when dropped in any temperature water. “Alka-Seltzer is a medication that works as a pain reliever and an antacid. (Antacids help neutralize stomach acidity, which can cause heartburn.)” (Science Buddies, Carbonation Countdown: The Effect of Temperature on Reaction Time). To take the Alka-Seltzer tablet you have to dissolve it in water causing a chemical reaction to form and the whole solution begins to fizz. The fizz occurs since when you drop the tablet in the water the baking soda and the citric acid react causing the water to fizz also “sodium bicarbonate splits apart to form sodium and bicarbonate ions” (Science Buddies, Carbonation Countdown: The Effect of Temperature on Reaction Time). When the Alka-Seltzer is dropped in the water then a chemical reaction forms allowing the Alka-Seltzer to dissolve. Temperature is related to this experiment because the temperature affects how fast the hydrogen ions react with the bicarbonate ions and as the temperature increases the movement of the molecules increases in speed and vice versa (Science Buddies, Carbonation Countdown: The Effect of Temperature on Reaction Time).
Looking back at how the chemical weaponry expanded starting in the beginning of World War 1, it all began with Tear gas which was used by the French in August of 1914. Those techniques have been used in ancient times. Moving forward eight months in to the war the Germans have been giving great study in to the development of chemical weapons due to the first usage from the French and witnessed its great effectiveness and were the first to use it in a large scale.
The French were the first to start experimenting on chemical agents in 1912. They first used it on their people as riot control to capture criminals that who had robbed a bank. They used 26 millimeter grenades filled with chemical agents into the center of the group criminals they were attempting to apprehend. It was not said if it was effective but continued to look into using it for other means. However, the Germans at this time had not been interested in producing any kinds of chemical weapons.
Non-lethal weapons are popular among law-enforcement for the reasons of being able to provide a police officer detain larger and more hostile subjects without a large risk of injury to his/her self or the subject. Most common uses of non-lethal force is the application of tear gas or pepper spray. Both have extremely large incapacitating effects designed to bring down individuals and give the police officer the upper hand. Pepper spray is common in the law enforcement world, but has skyrocketed in public providing protection for individuals to carry a small can to provide protection when stuck in a scary situation. Tear gas and pepper spray as the intentions to subdue someone but there is always a time where the expectations are not met and

When dropped in water it creates a ouseries of chemical reaction that form the compounds sodium citrate and sodium acetylsalicylate. Antacid and pain relievers that help get rid of illness symptoms, muscular aches, and help ease digestion. When the tablet dissolves the components of baking powder, which is an ingredient in an Alka-Seltzer tablet, react with each other to create carbon dioxide. The bicarbonate ions in the tablet react when they come in contact with the hydrogen in the water when dissolving. The speed of the reaction depends on the temperature. The higher the temperature the faster the molecules
In this experiment, the calcium carbonate was in the form of marble chips. The calcium carbonate reacted with hydrochloric acid when the acid was poured into marble chips. Due to calcium carbonate’s higher reactivity, it displaced hydrogen in the hydrochloric acid. As a result, products of calcium chloride, carbon dioxide and water were formed. As the chemical reaction occurred, the water in the measuring cylinder was displaced and gas bubbles that were blowing out represented carbon dioxide.

Its also called the hydrogen bomb. the united states detonate the first thermonuclear weapon. the hydrogen bomb on eniwetok atoll in the pacific. the test gave the united states a short lived advantage in the nuclear arms race with the soviet union. following the successful soviet detonation of an atomic device in september 1949 the united states accelerated its program to develop the next stage in atomic weaponry.popularly know as the hydrogen bomb this new weapon was approximately 1000 times more powerful than conventional nuclear devices. opponents of development of the hydrogen bomb included j. robert oppenheimer. one of the fathers of the atomic bomb. He and others argued that little would be accomplished except the speeding of the arms race, since it assumed that the soviets would quickly follow suits. the opponents were
Thesis Statement The hydrogen bomb is a nuclear weapon in which light atomic nuclei of hydrogen are joined together in an uncontrolled nuclear fusion reaction to release tremendous amounts of energy. The hydrogen bomb is about a thousand times as powerful as the atomic bomb, which produces a nuclear fission explosion about a million times more powerful than comparably sized bombs using conventional high explosives such as TNT.

What might happen if I were to try to mix water, oil, food coloring and Alka seltzer. I had the hypothesis that if I mix all these things that it would make bubbles of gas. So I tried it. Using the materials provided in class, I found that water and oil don’t mix at all. The oil ended up on top of the water. Meanwhile the food coloring and water almost effortlessly mixed at first contact. After recording the mass of the alka seltzer, I dropped it right it into the test tube. As it crossed into the border of where the water met the oil, it reacted with the water to make the water bubble into the oil. As I started adding more and more Alka-seltzer, I observed that the bubbles went up and then down as it met the surface of the oil then to re-settle into its separate mixtures of water and oil. The reaction caused by
In combustion reactions, reactants are placed in the bomb, an explosive-proof steel container, whose volume if fixed before being submerged in water bath.
Since the beginning of mankind there has always been a best weapon, but as human civilization advanced, so did the weapons. Through the years there have been very advanced weapons that seemed out of this world like the maxim gun, planes, and submarines, but one weapon has stood out among the others, and that is the atomic bomb. The reason the atomic bomb has stood out among other weapons is because of three things. The atomic bomb is unquestionably one of the most destructive, if not the most destructive, weapon that has ever been used. The atomic bomb is also a very effective weapon in that it does a lot of damage, but also can keep the casualties down in the sense that instead of flying multiple planes close to the ground, which allowed for
Malaria is a serious disease that is transmitted through mosquitos bites, causing one who is infected to be at risk of infections, organ failure, or even death. To combat this, DDT, an insecticide used to control mosquitos and their malaria transmissions, was created. Though effective, its severe effects on the surrounding community is the reason why DDT should not be used to combat malaria.
Blast. Looks like I've still got a lot to learn. Moving on. SMH typically stands for “shaking my head,” although it can also be used to mean “stupid minded humans” or “so much hate.”Feb 26, 2015If you've been online or received a text that made you wonder what SMH means, all you really need to know is that it stands for "shaking my head." It's a popular online acronym that teens and young adults love to type into their social media posts or in text messages to express the same physical body language of shaking their head in disappointment.
