Alfred A. Montapert writes that “Nobody ever did, or ever will, escape the consequences of his choices”. In life, each and every action or decision that a person makes has a consequence, it may be a good one or it could be a bad one, it is either fate or it is the result of rash actions or decisions. In William Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliet, prince Escalus remarks “All are punish’d” to the feud between the Montague and Capulet’s household. In KC Dyer’s novel, Seeds of Time, the protagonist Darrell Connor demonstrates actions that are similar to Juliet Capulet, as they both put themselves and the people close to them in danger just to satisfy their own curiosity and selfishness. Although Darrell Connor’s love for her friends exists in the novel, her mistakes of making rash actions and decisions have affected her and her friends’ lives by refusing to reveal the power of the glyphs, led her friends into a situation where they will disappear forever, and trap her friends in time.
To begin, Darrell Connor refuses to reveal the power of the glyphs, which is the key to returning to the past. At the beginning of the novel, Darrell travels to the past on her own using the power of the glyphs. Unfortunately, her friends Broderick “Brodie” Stewart Sun and Kate Clancy also discover the existence of the cave in which contains the glyphs. As Brodie and Kate plan their trip to the cave, Darrell feels troubled and she declare that she “hated to share the cave with anyone [...]” (Dyer 142). In the end, Darrell is overwhelmed by her selfishness and thus refusing to reveal her understanding of the glyphs, which demonstrates a rash decision. Later on,

Romantic love stories are often ended with a tragedy, because of loss of passion or a loved one. These tragedies are often the result of one person’s actions that ended someone’s life or love. In the Romeo and Juliet play written by William Shakespeare, two citizens of Verona come together and fall deeply in love. Unfortunately their love comes to an end, along with their lives, because of a misunderstanding and a persistent feud between their families. Although there are many characters in this play that have contributed to Romeo and Juliet’s death, Friar Laurence is the person most to blame.
In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, all the choices made by the star crossed lovers have consequences. The two lovers blame fate for their misfortune. They refuse to believe that fate does not determine the end result, only that they can do that. At the beginning of the play, Romeo is presented with a plethora of choices. The audience is introduced to Romeo as he sulks over his lover Rosaline.

On the surface, Romeo & Juliet is a simple tragic love story: boy meets girl, they fall in love, time elapses, things go wrong, and an end is met. But if you ask why was the end met, well there's where you get into the details of the story and the individual aspects of the mostly nondescript characters, in particular Romeo himself. Look into his ridiculously romantic lines, and you'll notice either the flaw in his character, the mistake he made, or the way fate plays with its toys.
Romeo and Juliet is a tragic story about a pair of star-crossed lovers whose demises were unexpected to most. However, their deaths were a result of their impulsiveness. It caused their problematic marriage, Romeo’s preventable death, as well as Juliet’s preventable death.
...cides. Romeo and Juliet were fated to serve a greater purpose: Despite attempts at controlling their destiny, they ended the feud between their families with death, revealing the story was destined to become a tragedy from the start. From the prologue, every event Romeo and Juliet fell into led to their unavoidable deaths. However, if the two had not killed themselves, the Capulets and the Montagues would have most likely kept fighting forever. The “star-crossed lovers” (I.I.VI) served a greater purpose, and created finer days for the generations of Capulets and Montagues thereafter. Not many individuals choose to conform to their fate in order to serve their purpose, but in the end, we must succumb to our fate, despite any circumstances we have. Our destiny is not always revealed to us, as in Romeo and Juliet, yet the stars always finds a way to fulfill our destiny.
Which once again brings out the themes of love and fate. Romeo is blaming this tragic turn of events on fate.
Reckless actions lead to untimely deaths. In Shakespeare’s tragedy “Romeo and Juliet”, both protagonists fight for their hopeless love. Bloodshed and chaos appear inevitable in fair Verona; Romeo and Juliet come from enemy households, the Montegues and the Capulets, who have sworn to defeat one another. The young and handsome Romeo weeps over his unrequited love for Rosaline, until he lays his eyes on Juliet. Strong and independent, Juliet seeks to escape her family’s will to marry her off to Paris, a kinsman of the Prince. Fate ties these adolescents’ lives together binding them to witness the ill-fortunes of Romeo and Juliet’s love. Romeo and Juliet prove themselves woefully impulsive through their words and actions, which ultimately lead them along a series of unfortunate mishaps.
After an unexpected accident, Romeo is forced to leave the city, and he may never return. Juliet’s not sure she’ll ever see him again and tries to plan a way to be with Romeo, but ends up making things worse. It is an extremely tragic story. Or that’s what everyone is led to believe. However, the play Romeo and Juliet is actually a comedy.

The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People (Covey, 2004) has become the cornerstone of leadership and management wisdom. The habits emphasize personal responsibility and personal leadership. There is challenge in living everyday under the guidance of the habits but there is also great benefit as living the habits can influence everything we do in life. I was introduced to Covey’s seven habits through a one day seminar at my workplace several years ago. I learned some of the terminology and a few of the concepts but never really understood the power of the practical application of the habits. Reading the Covey materials has taught me that life is not about all the tasks that I accomplish but instead about accomplishing the tasks that support what is important to me. Covey has taught me that there are elemental components that are applicable across the many roles that I have in my life. Those universal elements are integrity, vision, discipline, and passion. Embracing these ideas has opened my eyes to the endless applications and benefits of living the seven habits.
