Juliet is a tragic hero because she is an immature and impetuous living soul. Overall Juliet believed she could do the best for herself by secretly marrying her true love, as well as the little mermaid she did what she thought was best for her and her true love. She jumed into marrige and carzy llove for a human being who she had only known for a couple days because she could not wait. The little mermaid traded her life to be with her true love and ends up dying in the end. The tradgic flaw to the fate was a truth so close to being told until it was too
Juliet’s character is a collection of innocence, youth and naïveness. Her portrayal, however, did not fit well with the stereotypical view of how an Elizabethan women should have been. Women back then had to obey their fathers and husbands. They weren’t granted free will and so Juliet initial portrayal is girl who is an obeying daughter but when she discovers love she becomes a disobedient daughter to be faithful to her husband (Romeo).
Juliet was born of a noble birth. Her parents were the Capulets, one of the most respected and popular families in Verona. Juliet was set up for greatness because of her high social ranking, and was desired by many, including Paris. She was beautiful, enticing, and innocent- as she was very young and inexperienced with boys. Her father didn’t want her to be involved with them. But Juliet disagrees and thinks that she’s old enough to find love and let her passion lead the way. Even though Juliet had these great qualities, they actually evolved into a massive issue over time.
Fate in William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, written by the ever-famous William Shakespeare, is an eloquent story of passionate love between two teenage individuals of a time long ago. These individuals, Romeo and Juliet, fall helplessly in love with each other, in spite of the fact that their families, both upper class, have been enemies for generations. The two lovers therefore strive to maintain their ardent bond with each other in secret. They also encounter various obstacles along the way and suffer serious consequences, such as Romeo's banishment to Mantua and the obligatory marriage of Juliet to Paris.
In every fairy tale, movie, story, and play there is always a ‘happily ever after’ but in not in this case. The star struck lovers, Romeo and Juliet, both from families who loathe each other, end up taking their lives because they rather die than live without one another. The play “Romeo and Juliet” written by, William Shakespeare, mainly focuses on how selfishness can lead to tragedy. The selfish personalities of the characters caused conflict, betrayal, and death.
difficulties they faced, both characters are known to have faults. Juliet show remorse and regrets her
Romeo and Juliet is a tragic story about a pair of star-crossed lovers whose demises were unexpected to most. However, their deaths were a result of their impulsiveness. It caused their problematic marriage, Romeo’s preventable death, as well as Juliet’s preventable death.
Juliet’s weakness to be controlled by love leads her to make unadvised and irresponsible decisions that contribute to her choice of ending her life. Characterized as a young and rash teenager, with no interest in love and marriage at first, Juliet wants to be independent. However, after she first lays eyes on Romeo, Juliet’s perception of love is quick to change. Their strong love easily manipulates and clouds her judgment. Even if she is cautious and realizes their love is too fast, the rush of feelings from having a first love overcomes her.
The significance of Juliet’s change in character is to show her accelerated transformation from a young girl into a mature woman. In the beginning of the play Juliet is unable to make her own decisions. However after her meeting with Romeo, Juliet becomes more assertive and defends her love for Romeo. In conclusion, individuals cannot be forced to love; love is nurtured and nourished but also is always put to test.
The Tragedy of Romeo & Juliet by William Shakespeare when Juliet and romeo first met eye to eye they fell in love they started dancing for a lil bit until they went somewhere quiet. After that the nurse interrupted. How it ends when Romeo kills himself because he thought his love was dead and so she woke up and found Romeo dead and takes the dagger and kills herself.because they was trying to set up a fake funeral. While using irony, Shakespeare teaching us about love and teaching us how to fight the Capulets and the Montagues.
The choices Romeo and Juliet make are poor, and eventually resulted in their death. Getting married, killing Tybalt, and thinking with hastyness were all poor choices that lead to both of their deaths. Once in a while making bad choices doesn’t affect someone as much, but making then many times regularly does affect one’s life. This teaches people that we must think our actions through before committing them.
Juliet awakes to see Romeo dead next to her, and she, unable to live without him, takes his knife and kills herself. This is another showing of how obsession lead to depression. The two loved each other to the point even the thought of being separated was an unbearable pain. Had the two lived with being separated, or did not have as strong of a love as they did, the ending of this story may have been
The major climax of the play comes when the friar gives Juliet a potion that will make it seem as though she has died, when in fact she is alive the whole time. While in Mantua, Romeo mistakenly hears that Juliet has actually died and he goes to lay by her side. Just as he takes a vile of poison and dies Juliet awakens to find her love lying dead at her side. She cannot fathom living in a world without Romeo so she takes his sword and ends her own life.
An obedient, loving daughter would follow everything her parents said and was not able to even think for herself. First, Juliet goes behind her parent’s backs and marries Romeo, displaying an immense amount of strength and bravery. Also, she had the guts to sneak Romeo into her bedroom so they could seal their marriage. While it was normal to consummate the marriage the night of the wedding, it was extremely risky what Juliet did because one, she went behind her parent’s backs and two, Romeo is her sworn enemy. This was Juliet’s first experience of adulthood and it was a huge step considering, unlike young males, she has never had any experience with adult activities or decisions (Kahn). Moreover, Juliet tells her father, Lord Capulet, that she will not marry Paris, “Not proud, but thankful that you have/ Proud can I never be of what I hate,/ But thankful even for hate that is meant love” (III.v.151-153). Given the circumstances, Juliet had to obey everything her father said and a large part of that was Lord Capulet arranging Juliet’s marriage. She decides her own marriage plans and also refuses the plans her father had for her. Throughout the play Juliet is either seen at the Capulet compound or at shrift, the traditional way a young girl would be raised, out of sight from the outside world. According to Hamilton, “She is either at home or at church, and she is subject to [Capulet’s] rule. But she keeps striving for some control.” Even in Juliet’s last few minutes of her life she continues to convey great strength and courage, unlike being the stereotypical “weaker vessel,” when she kills herself with a dagger, a much painful way to go (Kahn). All in all, Juliet does in fact take some control over her life because of her defiance of the teenage girl stereotype and she leans towards the brave, rebellious, and strong personality causing her
Juliet kindly turns down the offer to marry Paris, but her father will not have it. He is not giving her a choice. She is forced to do as her father instructs, even if it will cause her to suffer in an unhappy relationship, because if she defies him, she will receive more than verbal insults. Juliet knows her destiny has been set by her parents and she has no power to change it. She has to live in the relationship of their choice, even if it will mean suffering in an unhappy relationship. Evidently, Juliet, from Romeo and Juliet, suffers greatly because of the little power she has over her life and destiny, she is not used to making her own choices when she can, and with no control over her destiny she is whisked off to marry someone
They were too impulsive and thought that ending their lives was the only option left. Juliet couldn’t just live with the fact of having to marry Paris. Romeo couldn’t live without his precious wife. So they decided not to. They killed themselves and now everyone else had to deal with the consequences.
