It's a strange world. Some people don't need to make any effort to feel happy about themselves all the time, while others never quite enjoy what they see in the mirror under any circumstance. Why is that? What are the psychological factors at play? If you analyze these questions and reach the inevitable logical conclusion, you'll realize that the only thing preventing someone from being happy is nothing. Literally nothing. It's worthwhile to explore the subject and see where it leads to debunk some misconceptions about happiness. Obviously, people are not all the same, but everyone can agree that everything is secondary to how you genuinely feel about yourself. Because without the right mental framework to be happy with yourself, your life Where to go from here? Now that you've spent all the fuel that kept you going, you don't have anything else to look up to. Ennui begins to set in, and you'll start mulling over things that shouldn't be mulled over. The feeling of a stagnant life is a very common occurrence in the lives of those who have everything. They have nowhere to go, nothing moves them. And, little by little, their happiness begins to fade away because in their stagnation they are swarmed by the feeling that there's nothing interesting at all about life. Life begins to look like nothing but a pointless struggle. Boring child play in the dark void of purposeless existence. Existential crisis is pretty common at this extreme stage of pseudo-fulfillment. So make sure that you have something that keeps you interested and moving forward in life. It doesn't matter what it is nor how you could achieve it; the important thing is to have something to fight for. Got that job you always wanted at your favorite company? Rewrite your priorities and find something else to push you forward. Find new interests. Explore hidden talents. Or develop new areas of Nor on whatever flaws they might recognize in themselves, or how they compare to others on some arbitrary metric. Too much self-consciousness or low self-esteem can be degrading and get in the way of happiness. But the truth is that many of the things that cause low self-esteem are too mundane to let them jeopardize your life perspective and psychological well-being. If you have self-esteem issues, ask yourself one simple question: what are you doing here? This impossible question should be tackled with one of the most important fact checks anyone can make: you are genuinely unique. Life is an iterative organic process that never stops. New experiences are built on top of previous ones; priorities change; and what is true today may not be true tomorrow. Happiness has always been a desirable goal throughout our lives, but each actions we take might just affect the happiness of others. When humans seek happiness, we always seek for things that make us feel alive, or things that brings us the greatest comfort. Our contentment comes with the act of selfishness since we choose to prioritize our happiness above all other. We willingly classify happiness in two different types of meaning, both physical and mental happiness. People ought not be in title to happiness because it is classified in general as a physical desire by many people. Contentment is always known to be a physical satisfaction in life instead of a self-inducing satisfaction for life.
The root reason why people are not happy is that they confuse between happiness and the measures to gain it. Namely, many people mistake measure to be happy for the happiness and pursue the former. The reason is, while the real happiness is invisible, people can see the measures to achieve it. The mistake makes people unable to gain happiness, since they head toward the measure for gaining it, not the happiness itself. They can never reach it when the delusion has mocked them.
It does not matter what anyone thinks, the mark you award yourself shall be your grade. Hence, self-esteem is created by your assessment of yourself and not how others rate you.
Everyone has a mental picture of themselves; whether it’s how they look, what they’re good or bad at, and what their weaknesses and strengths are. A lot of people tend to think negatively about themselves, but they’re just looking at it the wrong way, and there are many ways to boost your self-esteem. If you are constantly thinking negative things about yourself, it’s bound to make you upset about who you are. Every day, try to write down three things about yourself that make you happy. Build up your self-esteem. Set mini goals for yourself, ones that you know you can get done, while still doing what you need to. Reward yourself. Let you know you are worth something and that you are good for something.
Palladino, (1994) noted that “self-esteem reflects [who each individual is] to everyone with whom [they] come into contact with (sec.1p.1). Self-esteem does not remain the same throughout an individual’s lifetime. There are many circumstances that come and go that causes self-esteem to also change. As stated by Palladino, (1994) “self-esteem is both conscious and unconscious. It is an ongoing assessment of who someone is; a belief about what they can and cannot do” (sec.1p. 1). For example, when a person buys a house, self-esteem will be high. If a person loses his or her house due to foreclosure, self-esteem can be low.
I am sure you are like everyone else out there and you want to achieve meaning in your life. There are unfortunately no short cuts to success or to invite meaning and fulfillment, into your experience. They are all the result of self-discipline and consistent commitment. Of course the moment you start down your journey towards the success you have visualized, you will start to enjoy the fruits of your endeavors. The challenge is to remain focused, patient and driven enough to stay on the path you have chosen. This is where discipline comes into it.
The story of my life would simply be titled "determination". Throughout my life I have always been determined to get what I want. I was never a child that asked mom and dad for something and got it, I worked for it. From a young age my mother made me do chores around the house in order to go outside and play with my friends. As I got older, nothing go easier, chores turned into jobs, and my income turned into my alliance. However, one thing that I did realize is that working without passion is not very enjoyable. I began working at a Restaurant as a host, which is not the most glamorous job out there. Fortunately, the Restaurant I worked at was looking for a new local marketing team. Once I heard what the job entailed I jumped on the opportunity;
Imagine truly being happy not just occasionally, but all the time. You shouldn’t spend all of your life being a lousy depressed slug. Being happy leads to greater things. The happier you are the more you can accomplish. It makes life easier, yes life still happens and has its bumps in the road, but you learn to deal with them on a happier note. People show there happiness in many ways, some people smile and there face just glows in pleasure and enjoyment, while others just don?t show there happy emotions physically, they keep that feeling inside themselves. Even dogs have a way of showing there happiness, they show it by shaking their tail. One of the main reasons there are so many unhappy people in our society is because many have never taken the time to discover what it is that makes them happy. Chances are if you were to ask someone else what would make them happy, you'd get a list of the same things I mentioned above. The truth is, most people have a difficult time stating exactly what would make them happy for the simple reason they've never really thought about it.
Begin to focus on your strengths including the things you are good at or enjoy. The world needs all kinds of people with knowledge and understanding of different subjects. A reflection of the self is an important tool to use to figure out whether or not your self-concept provides you with a positive self-esteem. First ask yourself, ‘who am I?’ and once you figure that out, determine if your perception of yourself is a positive one. If it’s not positive, you might want to consider making a change very quickly in order to live a fulfilling life. An even more important tool is to compare your own self-concept to the perception others have of you. I interviewed four people and asked them three questions. Happiness is an abstract and intangible emotion that cannot literally be defined. So how can one define it? People use their emotions, feelings, and events in their life to define happiness. Young people with issues regarding physical appearance are at risk for developing low self-esteem as socioemotional problems, that focuses on negative variations that occur in an individuals personality, emotions, and relationships with others during ones lifetime. Thus this week is the central focus of what this program is essentially targeting. Through self assessment tools such as the Rosenberg self esteem scale, a scale that has been extensively used in cross-cultural studies in more than 50 nations, we will be able to obtain data on how one sees themselves thus allowing for individualization of the curriculum based on the indivuals self reflection.
If you do not stop feeling sorry for yourself, you can never make any progress. Hope always resides in the subconscious mind of a man. The world can never run ahead without hope. It sets even the dried log to thrive. As Bernard Shaw says "You see things and ask why? I dream things that never were and ask why not" That is the difference between positive and negative thinking.
