The biggest challenge I ever faced personally is when I decided to taken AP Biology during my senior year of high school. One of the reasons I took this class, was that I wanted to gain a few credits before I started college. The other was that, my original plan was to take a class that have me a step into my future major, Biology. Technically the major I wanted to take was Zoology, but very few colleges, especially Farmingdale, don't have it.
I thought that this class would be interesting and exciting, but unfortunately, it was one of those classes that I just couldn't seem to care about or just want to put effort in. It definitely exceeded my expectations, but not the way I wanted it too. For that, it was pretty much a nightmare taking this
class. I barely passed any test and much of the information I try to understand just wouldn't stick. It definitely put a strain between myself and my mother, especially when it's around the time that I can't mess up. There was a point where my guidance counselor suggested I just drop this class altogether, but for what reason or another, it just never happen. Even then, I still took this class and while my classmates were entertaining, overall, the general experience just never became right. More so when I just started to not care anymore as it was inevitable this would end. Which it did, not surprising I did fail. Pretty much surprised no one by that and I have to say, it really didn't help that not many people were really there to help. Sure, I had my parents take me to extra classes that was needed and my teacher try to reach out, but I felt none of it really helped when much of the information doesn't make sense or how many times I read over my notes. None of it work. As much as I hoped it would've been better, it just didn't and it was something I had learn to accept. I'm not gonna please everyone and there will be times that I'll fail miserably. Which I did, I failed in another class and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be given they college life is vastly different from high school. The other thing, I learned to just accept that my initial plans aren't gonna be accomplished. Which I suppose, is a good thing since science overall wasn't exactly my forte or personal interest except for a few details.
16. Describe two evolutionary consequences if the process of crossing over in meiosis ceased to occur. If crossing over in meiosis ceased to occur there would be less genetic variations and no diversity among a species. This would essentially mean that a species would not be able to adapt to an issue that could arise in the future, meaning that its species could potentially become extinct due to climate change or other arising events.
Students should communicate with their counselors to select a manageable course load based on their own aptitude and interests. Certain combinations of the most difficult AP classes may be difficult to handle for all but the most brilliant students. However by making smart informed decisions, students can challenge themselves by taking appropriate AP classes.
I’m convinced that much learning has occurred in this course, both on your part and on mine. So I’m most interested in your telling me what you have learned, rather than asking questions on this exam that require you to demonstrate your learning. So, look back over the course and compose a page each on what you have learned about each of these course objectives.

I believe that challenging myself to take AP classes that influence my decision in choosing a career path will be beneficial and aide me in achieving my lifetime goal of helping others. It helps me because I’m preparing myself for college by taking rigorous college level courses. Because they are difficult classes, my GPA will be weighted and thus increases my chances of being accepted into schools that can help me achieve my
In Ap biology, we were handed a Campbell Textbook before the class began in order to complete the pre-modules. I consider the textbook to be the most beneficial resource that we had during this course, due to the amount of detail, examples, and images that it contained explaining each concepts in a reliable way. The power points that were made to summarize the main points from the textbook were helpful, however they were really long and made me miss what was actually important and take additional notes on filler information. Due to the long powerpoints, I felt implied to take long and details notes, which people struggled in this class, either taking too much or too less. After two units passed, we were taught how our notes should be, which will later help us in college. This strategy allowed me to understand the important information and identify the filler information, resulting in
Examine 3 different natural selections using brine shrimp and salt solutions. It will test the hatching viability of roughly 20 brine shrimp eggs in three different NaCl solutions over the course of 48 hours.
As I planed to take this class, I thought this course would be like all other general education courses. I believed that it would be of little use to me. However, after attending the first class, my view has changed completely. I applied each and every theory to my life.
The most challenging class that I have taken during my senior year would be AP Calculus. Having to transition in going to Precalculus to AP Calculus have been a brave action for me to do. AP Calculus has been the class of my senior year that I am having the most struggle on. Even though I have been struggling in that class, I have the ability to make myself to go to tutoring with my AP Calculus teacher Mr. Ninofranco in order to clarify my confusions. I had to endure all the challenging courses with hard work and dedication to the subject in order to fully understand it and obtain a passing grade. This year, I have found my strength in having the ability to ask for help whenever I am confused at a certain point. I had the chance to take the advantage of using the resources that my school have made available to me.
This class was far more intense than what I expected but I was able to make it through the semester. I learned a lot from this class that I will carry into the future and use in other classes. All of the revision and feedback I have received during the time in the class helped me in the end. I feel like I am gradually becoming a better writer. I will take everything that I have learned in this class and use it for future reference when writing papers. I overall have enjoyed this class this semester.
Most of our data supported the hypothesis. The average DO concentration is 8.3 ppm, which is between the optimal range of 8 – 12 ppm, suggesting that the aquatic organisms have a rather healthy life with abundant amount of oxygen provided to them. The average temperature is 20, which is rather cool considering that the river was exposed to sunlight and the actual temperature we felt on that day. But it is also reasonable, since the river was flowing swiftly due to the windy weather, which reduces the amount of sunlight it absorbed. Also there were trees near the river that provided shade for the river, and we got the sample from the shaded area. The average alkalinity level is 120.8 ppm, which exceeds 80 ppm, indicating a well-buffered stream.
When looking at not just this class but all of my classes and looking at how I have been approaching them versus how I should approach them it definitely puts my mind in a different perspective because I am a person that “strives for excellence” and if I am able to “ace” a class then I definitely try and do that but a lot of the time that doesn’t mean sitting there and actually learning the information it means
Answer: It produces glucose (sugar), which is the basis for most food chains, oxygen, which is necessary for breathing, and energy so that other organisms can function.
Based on the efforts I put in this class, I believe that I earned an A+. I can substantiate my reasoning based on the work I have thus produced and presented. I have put a lot of effort and time in my all my assignments for this class. I tried to do all the readings before every class in order to have a better understanding of the course material before lectures. Although I did not participate much in class discussion, I was still engaged in the material as I was reflectively and actively listening. I have also shown up to every class without having missed a single lecture.
Overall, this has been one of my favorite classes in that I can work at my own pace, make my own deadlines (besides the due dates), and communicate with others in ways I had never done before. I am more of a hands on, face to face, confrontation kind of student,
