Poaching is a big problem in the world. It is illegal crime towards wildlife. Hunters kill millions of animals each year. Officials say “for each of those animals, another one is killed illegally”. Some poachers kill in closed land or hunt on off seasons. This causes the animals young to become abandoned and eventually starve to death. Almost every poacher goes unpunished for their crimes. The poaching of animals gets worse every year. Hunting is the intentional act of tracking and killing wild animals while poaching is the illegal harvesting of game or fish. The pursue of animals has developed from being a necessity for survival to violent murders of prey creating an indisputable brutality towards countless species of wildlife for sport or monetary gain. Poaching and hunting for sport are vicious acts of savagery that must be terminated to save the extinction of many wildlife animals and the selling of animal body parts in the black market.
First, poaching is a huge game being played. It hurts the animals or species that are being targeted, which causes them to increase their chances of extinction. Orietta C. One environmental issue that Americans do not really pay attention to is the poaching of innocent wild animals. Poaching is illegal and performed for commercial profit, meaning that hunters in spite of the law, kill the animals and sell their body parts and their hides for large amounts of money. This horrible act has afflicted many environmentalists for years and in spite of laws, this sickening crime has yet to be stopped. Since then, it has caused the world to change their minds on the effects of trophy hunting. Succeeding the death of the renowned lion, a recent poll in America displays that on a three to one margin, the respondents said they would rather be tourists in a country that prohibits trophy hunting, instead of one that does not. The debate is ascending as more hunters proudly present their ‘trophy’ on social media. Many nature conservatives and animal protection agencies are raising awareness because of the fact that Cecil died in a meaningless and violent manner.The problem is not only in America, but around the globe. Trophy hunting should be illegal in the world because it is merely killing animals without a meaningful purpose, and it produces harmful effects to the environment.

The general public has a lack of understanding of animal hoarding. Many citizens do not realize that anyone can report abuse (Donaghey 2011). There are “…900 to 2,000 new cases [found] every year… with a quarter million animals falling victim” in the United States alone (Animal). If every hoarder has a neighbor on either side there are at least 4,000 witnesses to these crimes yearly. One reason for witnesses not reporting cases is the unknown fact that hoarded animals “range in species from cats and dogs to reptiles, rodents, birds, exotics and even farm animals” (Animal). Hoarded animals show signs of abuse which witnesses can detect such as heartworms, embedded collars, beaten, social issues, emaciated, or if they generally look unhealthy (Donaghey 2011).
Poachers travel from country to country and they are undeniably fast working. This is why more people should be working as investigators to track these people down. It is sad to say that poachers are the reason why elephants will become extinct, but there are not enough resources, laws, to actually prohibit this endangerment. Ivory should be completely internationally banned to save this species. Wild African elephants will soon become like dinosaurs to our grand children because people of authority have decided that it is not an issue to properly take care of.

The Siberian tiger subspecies has been subjected to many obstacles, which make it very difficult for it to survive. Their main threat is not lack of food, but “man,” one of God’s most fierce and cruel species. Because of man the tiger population has reduced to approximately 400 in the wild, and restricted their remaining habitat to the Russian Far East (Field Projects). Man has done many things to destroy the Russian Siberian tiger. They have cut down forests and moved in on the tiger’s territory, causing them to flee and become fragmented throughout Siberia making it hard for them to mate and hunt. Poaching has also made it difficult for the tiger to survive. Man has illegally killed this magnificent animal over decades for sport, food, trade, medicinal purposes, and to protect their livestock. Though man is very powerful and capable of causing the extinction of the Siberian tiger, they are also capable of helping the tiger to survive. Many people are supporting conservation organizations in order to help the surviving population of the Siberian tiger. These conservation organizations are trying to stop the annihilation of the Siberian tiger by strengthening anti-poaching patrols, establishing a compensation program for farmers, and educating people.
Poaching is only one of the leading causes for animals being on the endangered species, so with all these poachers we need to protect the animals more closely. Animals that are close to extinction need to be placed into a zoo or sanctuary so they can flourish. People need to do this for the animals, they may not like it but it helps get their numbers up.
For every wildlife animal legally hunted another is killed illegally; this is called poaching. The people who commit the type of crime such as that of hunting illegally are known as poachers. The worst part about this crime is that it is committed where no one can see or know what is happening. The motive of poachers can vary from wanting a trophy or pointlessly killing animals to harvesting a profit from ivories, horns, or antlers. If this environmental problem of poaching continues, then many species will either become endangered or extinct.
