When it comes to picking out a restaurant with family or friends things tend to get complicated. One person might want to go to a steakhouse, while the other wants Italian. Choosing a restaurant should focus on the quality of the food, the pricing of the food, and the competitiveness of that restaurant to its competitors. Olive Garden is one of the most revered Italian-American restaurants in the United States compared to its leading competitor, Maggiano’s. Olive Garden leads in lower prices, food options, complementary food, and even has lighter options for the health conscious. Olive Garden always has a warm welcoming atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy dinner with your family. The waitresses and waiters are always respectful and care about your needs as a customer. On my many occasions to Olive Garden the service I get is always exceptional. I have a toddler and my servers were always very patient. The decorations of the restaurant are relaxing and very welcoming and it has a very homey look. Maggiano’s is comparable in style but lacks in great service. Maggiano’s reviews are very low within the customer service spectrum. The complaints range from not getting the correct orders, to not seeing their servers at all. Opposing views claim that Maggiano’s is the more prestigious restaurant because it has a more formal, rich atmosphere. You cannot deny that Maggiano’s would be nice for a first date, or a couples outing but when it comes to a simple nice family outing Olive Garden is the better option. Olive Garden is more relaxed with a kid friendly environment. In a situation with a family of 4 going out to dinner, going to a restaurant like Olive Garden will let the parents stay at ease with their children making noises, especially the younger ones and it allows for a more affordable family
