Abu Dhabi vision 2030 is a set of policies and strategy agendas put together in 2006 by the authorities of Abu Dhabi’s government to initiate a secure and confident society with a sustainable economy. The United Arab Emirates relay mainly on oil to support their economy which the vision hopes to change by diverting their dependence on oil to transform the city of Abu Dhabi into a sustainable world-class city. The vision’s aim is partially social and partially economic in different means from creating a well-thought-of city to live in and do business to respecting the environment while considering the future’s standards.
The 2030 vision provides a set of directions where certain enterprises in Abu Dhabi have developed their individual strategies that focuses on achieving their set of goals. There are many approaches to achieving the main aim of the vision, however, the most significant ones are the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 (introduced by the Abu Dhabi Council for Economic Development) and the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Vision 2030 (introduced by Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council).
Both set of visions started being carried out in 2008 in a more detailed way to achieve the intended goal of these strategies. However, the global economic slowdown that followed in 2008 was a major setback of the Vision as the prices of oil dropped and so some of the proposed ideas in the vision were cut out and the vision was adjusted.

Economic Diversification
The country’s economic diversification is based on the expenses spent by the government on different areas than oil such as media. One example is the Twofour54 Corporation which is created for the sake of enabling the development of world class Arabic media. The development in health care is also part of the five years plan and the advances in petrochemicals is being looked at as well. The country’s strategy to develop in other areas like aviation and financial services have been receiving a notable attention since these areas will undoubtedly boost the economic status of the country. The addition of renewable energy projects to the country’s economy is a major upsurge hence it will improve the image of the country globally.

In other words, strategic objectives differ from goals/visions in terms of feasibility, practicality, and ultimately implementation. This theme makes its way into essentially every portion of the book, as it is vital to strategy. Often times, strategic planning and strategic thinking is thought to be any action performed by upper management. Rumelt debunks this myth and inserts that these executives are motivating and energizing their employees at best through vague visions and mission statements. Instead, upper-level management should actually focus on opportunities and detail orientated actions to avoid bad strategy. The same logic can be applied to hopeful wishes (over ambitious goals). These goals contain a great deal of uncertainty, as they lack a level of reality and planning. In fact, good strategy should be based off of an educated guess, even if that means you take a stance on an uncertain issue. Rumelt explains, “A new strategy is, in the language of science, a hypothesis, and its implementation is an experiment. As results appear, good leaders learn more about what does and doesn’t work and adjust their strategies accordingly” (Rumelt, 2011, pg. 241). In other words, successful strategists are constantly evaluating and adjusting their original hypothesis to perfect their strategy. This hypothesis allows them to

Over the past 200 years, mankind discovered the fossil fuels and they used this source to produce hug energy. This affects the environment in many negative ways and caused many issues worldwide such as urban air pollution and acid rain, oil spills and the high temperature of earth. Saudi Arabia has the biggest oil reserves in the world by 19.66% (the world factbook, 2011) and the second oil producer country in the world with roughly 10.121 million barrels a day – which account for 12% of the total world production of oil in 2010 (Fontinelle,2011). Moreover, the country relies heavily on oil industry. And the most successful companies in the country are thus whose work in oil industry such as ARAMCO Company. The reason behind this success is because most of these companies get financial support and attention from the Saudi government and sometimes the government owes these companies. Because of the massive reserve of oil and the high income that generated from oil, the country has less attention to seek for other sources of clean energy such as solar energy and wind energy which leads to the increase of air pollution in the country. However, oil is expected to last in the next 50 to 100 years (Hubbert, 1956). Furthermore, the International organizations have made many decisions to protect the environment and environmental resource such as Kyoto Protocol which decided to raise the use of solar energy to 50%of the total global energy use by 2020 (UNFCCC ,2005 ). Recently, these issues lead the Saudi government to realize problems, such as air pollutions, and start to invest in clean energy area but not as expected. These days many people in Saudi Arabia argue the uses of clean energy and replace with the fossil fuels. And they d...
