Competition
Another great thing that comes with space exploration is competition. Competition is what makes the world discover all these new advancements in technology and keeps new ones coming. In the article, New Space Race, Patrick Marshall says, “Further complicating U.S. space strategy is China's rapid rise as the third major space power. China launched its first astronaut into space in 2003. Since then, it has landed a rover on the moon, placed its own space lab into orbit and boosted its space spending to an estimated $110 million in 2015.” (Marshall, 2017) This is a prime example of competition at its finest. All America wants is to be able to say that they accomplished something first. This once happened during the space race era and will continue to happen with increased funding for NASA. The program will continue creating new inventions. Other countries and nations will also come out with their own, which ultimately benefits all countries participating. These inventions will continue

in unbelievable ways. One benefit to technological advancements is its influence on the economy and cash flow in America. Some may argue that America spends a lot of money on space exploration; however, what comes from the expense makes it all worth it. This Nation has discovered many new inventions. When the U.S. develops and creates new technology, many join in and are willing to go out of their way to support it. For example, when the flat screen came out everyone wanted that right away because it had many new features that the bulky television sets did not have. This is a perfect example because the satellite television was an invention created by NASA. This shows the consequences that come from new inventions and updated technology and the role it plays in citizens’ lives. Since the government has ceased the funding to NASA, these benefits will not be as applicable to America. In the article Space Program, John Felton
"One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind," said by Neil Armstrong as he took his first steps on the moon during the NASA Apollo 11 expedition to the moon. No man has ever been to the moon before and NASA, The National Aeronautics and Space Administration, was the first to get someone to land on the moon. NASA has had many great accomplishments in exploring the "new frontier" that have affected the United States ever since it was first created in July 1958. The idea for NASA first started when the Soviet Union launched the first satellite on October 4, 1957. United States started up its own space travel program and started to work on its own projects that would be better in than the Soviet Union's. This all started the great space race. It was a big race between the Soviet Union and the United States to see who could learn and discover the most. The United States and Soviet Union started building and sending satellites and space ships. Then they tried to see who could make a suit and ship that would be able to allow a living thing to go up in space. They tested out all of the equipment with monkeys and dogs, seeing what would work. Many animals did die in the process but by the results of their testing they were able to build suits and ships that allow human beings to go up in space. Even though they were able to create these machines, that doesn't mean that they didn't have their difficulties and dangers. Two space shuttles were crashed or blown up. There were many key factors that they had learned to fix that resulted in the crashing of those ships. They have made many discoveries and accomplishments like having the first astronauts walk on the moon.
...ess for our country than to land on the moon first, before the Soviet Union (We Choose to go to the Moon).
history. It managed to send the first human into orbit and to the moon. The discoveries, NASA have made in the recent decades have enabled us to have more knowledge of planets and stars, and resources way beyond this planet. In another hand, reasons as to why the U.S. Government should continue to fund NASA 's space program is a huge deal today. With the ideals that American tax dollars should be spent on more important things and that companies are now able to construct their own rockets that are able to send people on excursions into space, really is what challenges government support and true betterment of
The Soviet’s were responsible for putting man on the moon, rovers on Mars, and launching the Hubble Space Telescope. Indeed, it was the United States’ foes that drove the U.S. to accomplish perhaps the greatest feats of the twentieth century. Following the defeat of Germany and Japan in World War II, tensions between former allies, the United States and the Soviet Union, began to grow. In the following decades, the two superpowers would duke it out in competitions and tremendous shows of nationalism. They formed unmatchable rivalries in politics, economics, sciences, and sports. These rivalries would become clear when two countries competed in the space race, a competition between the U.S. and the Soviet Union concerning achievements in the field of space exploration. The Soviet’s took the early lead as they put the first satellite, Sputnik 1, into space. The launch of Sputnik 1 established a sense of fear into the American Public, resulting in the creation of NASA in the late 1950’s which opened the door for space exploration today and for future generations.
Space exploration needs advancing scientific research, more machineries and equipments which means that it would cost us a lot of
The Cold War presented the United States with a unique decision. The Soviet Union had created a space program and the United States needed to decide if a space program would be beneficial for them. The Soviets sent probes out to space, and soon American probes followed. There are many reasons that the U.S. could have made this decision, but two reasons are more prominent that the others. Firstly the United States found it necessary to compete with the Soviets, and they could not accept the fact that the U.S.S.R had something that they didn’t. Secondly, JFK and his administration thought that space was the final frontier, and it would provide valuable scientific research. Ultimately, John F Kennedy and the United States decided to create a space
These new technologies also make it a lot easier for people in the workforce. New technologies have a huge effect on society. Farmers, for example, have it a lot easier now than they did in the early 1900s. More advanced farm equipment is the reason for this. Aside from all the good things that arise from new machinery, there are also a few down falls.
Unlike their Soviet counterparts, who were subject to "government-sponsored terror", American scientists faced more favorable conditions (Eaton par. 3). American scientists also received tremendous public support, and many inventions often benefited everyday life (Eaton par. 4). An importance source of motivation for those involved in the United States' space efforts was the fact that research led to the development of many pieces of everyday technology. Technology such as "wireless communications" was derived from NASA's research ("Space Race" par. 24). These technologies not only benefited NASA, but they also benefited ordinary life. In addition, the American space program received a high amount of public support. Media, including television, films, and magazines, developed public awareness and public support for space exploration (Nagel and Hermsen
Disney’s new movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will do exceptionally well in the box office due to the previous success of the Star Wars films and the recent prosperity of Disney’s use of Star Wars. On December 1, 2012, Disney’s purchase of Lucasfilm had been completed and Disney rigorously started production of merchandise to begin being released in 2014. It was then announced that they would begin development of a seventh edition to the Star Wars saga with hopes of being released in December 2015. This sparked much fan reaction across the globe consisting of both positive and negative feedback.
Many of these new inventions shape the future for us; for example, the telephone helped us communicate with other people from around the world. Like for us right now, we cannot live without phones; our lives would be nothing without the telephone. Another great advancement was the railroad, it allowed us to travel much easier and much faster, it also allowed us to trade much easier. Nowadays most things are transported by train, airplane, ships. But back in the day they had to transport stuff by horse and wagon, that’s what motivated them to create the railroad that made every day much easier.
...people acquired more benefits, and their lives improved substantially. People were now able to spend more time with their loved ones and less time doing monotonous work. These are just a few of the several positive things that came out of the Technological Revolution. As always, the sacrifices and struggles of people led to something far better than they ever thought possible before.
When one thinks about the space race one’s mind automatically envisions connotations of the cold war; the Soviet Union battling against the USA for technological supremacy in spaceflight capabilities. This was not only a strategic race for national defence reasons but was also seen to be a pivotal stand point of national superiority. This is also the main basis of the majority of space law still in force today. But the reality is there is a space race occurring right now in the present day, not for national supremacy but instead for commercial supremacy no longer is there a search for strategic advantage it is now a race for profit gain.
As a country we need to start investing more money and research into space technology. Programs currently exist for this effort, but the potential for research and progress is limited by a lack of funding; compared to other government funded programs, aerospace funding is pitiful. Continued research in space technology is a necessary step in our growth and development not just as a country but also as entire human race. If we are to achieve this goal, it is necessary to increase funding for space research and technology and consider the possibility of colonizing outer space. If we limit our existence to the planet Earth, and continue to drain the resources on this planet, we will destroy the only home we have.
When talking about the current space program, Neil Degrasse Tyson once said, “I got angry with America, because advancing is not just something you do incrementally. You need innovation as well, so that your advances are revolutionary, not merely evolutionary” (Tyson 3). America used to have the top space program in the world. Being first to the moon excited the country and gave everyone a sense of pride and fulfillment. Lately, though, we have been falling behind in space exploration. A successful space program is needed in America, and here’s why: we are losing our grip on the title as the world superpower and a new age of economics and politics is coming faster than we are prepared for. To be prepared for this new age we need the funds,
and new technologies these helped as the U.S.A had a great source of natural resources to supply to help make new technologies and mass production of the things. The new technologies allowed people to buy things o help them around the house and give them a pleasurable life. This was only possible as the Americans discovered credit.
