Disney’s new movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will do exceptionally well in the box office due to the previous success of the Star Wars films and the recent prosperity of Disney’s use of Star Wars. On December 1, 2012, Disney’s purchase of Lucasfilm had been completed and Disney rigorously started production of merchandise to begin being released in 2014. It was then announced that they would begin development of a seventh edition to the Star Wars saga with hopes of being released in December 2015. This sparked much fan reaction across the globe consisting of both positive and negative feedback.
The saga has had a profitable history at movie theaters, bringing in over four billion dollars and ranking fifth in top grossing movie series. The Phantom Menace and Revenge of the Sith are the only two movies that are still high enough to be in top 50 of the highest grossing movies ever. Inflation of American money does have to be taken into account though when dealing with movies dating back to the 1980’s. After considering

inflation, the numbers change and the first Star Wars from 1977 becomes one of the top in the list, making almost 1.5 billion dollars, with The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi not too far behind. Disney’s use of Star Wars so far has also proven to be very fruitful, showing that they know what they are doing.
To start, Disney ended the production of the previous animated Star
Wars TV series and began their own, Star Wars Rebels. The pilot episode for the show had a total of 6.5 million viewers, significantly higher than the previous show’s 4 million viewers for the pilot episode. Along with the TV show for kids, Disney has created a whole new line of toys relating to the upcoming Star Wars movie. An event named “Force Friday” was held to release the new line of toys in early September, which was strategized to account for holiday shopping.
The event was estimated to bring in 5 billion dollars worldwide in product sales and when the day finally came, toys were flying off the shelves with most being sold out. Disney focused hard on releasing their line of toys in order to also attract an audience of younger viewers to the new
film. Achievement has also been made by Disney in the video game industry. Disney’s popular game, Disney Infinity, recently added a new edition of Star Wars characters to play as. This new addition has increased both the game’s popularity, along with the game’s sales revenue. Disney, in cooperation with Electronic Arts (EA), has made great headway with the Star Wars Battlefront series of games. The new game of the fan favored series releases November 17 and is expected to sell nine to ten million copies. Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens has now become one of the most anticipated films of the year, as can be seen from its 72 million views on its trailer. The new film will attract many different audiences ranging from the adults who grew up watching the original Star Wars in 1977 in theaters, to the children of today who have not yet witnessed a Star Wars film at the cinema. The past two years have shown that Disney’s film is going to be a success and will definitely achieve a high ranking on the list of top grossing films.

Both sides to the question have evidence to support their beliefs about the self in every human, and whether it is one consistent self, or it

It is being predicted that Disneyland will see a dip due Harry Potter. However, Disneyland too is in the process of adding more attractions. There is a 14 acre expansion plan which would resemble Star Wars. The spokesperson of Disneyland, Suzi Brown has said that, Disney would continue to raise the bars of theme parks and strive to provide an unique experience to tourists. This arms race, however, would do a lot of good for the industry and people as
Have you ever felt stuck? Wherever you are, it’s the absolute last place you want to be. In the book Into the Wild, Chris McCandless feels stuck just like the average everyday person may feel. Chris finds his escape plan to the situation and feels he will free himself by going off to the wild. I agree with the author that Chris McCandless wasn’t a crazy person, a sociopath, or an outcast because he got along with many people very well, but he did seem somewhat incompetent, even though he survived for quite some time.
The Turn of the Screw by Henry James has been the cause of many debates about whether or not the ghosts are real, or if this is a case of a woman with psychological disturbances causing her to fabricate the ghosts. The story is told in the first person narrative by the governess and is told only through her thoughts and perceptions, which makes it difficult to be certain that anything she says or sees is reliable. It starts out to be a simple ghost story, but as the story unfolds it becomes obvious that the governess has jumps to conclusions and makes wild assumptions without proof and that the supposed ghosts are products of her mental instability which was brought on by her love of her employer
It was Lucas's third film, 1977's Star Wars that changed everything. A deceptively simple morality tale of good versus evil told across a fantastic landscape of exotic planets and bizarre creatures, Star Wars became an international phenomenon, despite the fact that few saw its potential during production. Refusing to accept the limitations of filmmaking at the time, Lucas created his own visual effects company, Industrial Light & Magic, to deliver the more than 300 shots required to make his vision a reality. Star Wars broke all box office records, set new standards for sophistication in film visuals and sound, garnered eight Academy Awards, and inspired a generation of young people to follow their imagination and dreams. The success of Star Wars allowed Lucas to remain independent and continue operating in Marin County, California.
George Lucas' Sci-Fi multi-film Star Wars saga has had a significant impact on modern popular culture. Star Wars references are deeply embedded in popular culture; references to the main characters and themes of Star Wars are casually made in many English-speaking countries with the assumption that others will understand the reference. If you go to Comic Con you will at least two princess Leias a few Luke Skywalkers and a whole bunch of Han Solos it just gives you an overwhelming sense of pride and joy that you belong to this great
For the next sixteen years, even without new films, the Star Wars universe continued to expand, gaining more fans every year. Many books telling the tales of the future and past of Star Wars were published. A handful of cartoon shows appeared on television, although none were overly successful.
...ght off guard, and were unable to produce toys in time for Christmas orders, they were forced to selling boxed vouchers for Star Wars action figures. Mark, who plays Luke, lit up when he found out his face was a mask on a box of cereal! Kids had to cut out his eyes, and they could wear the mask. He also got to be on a bubble gum card. He said, “I thought I had to be athletic to be a bubble gum card!” Carrie Fisher said, "You're not really famous until you're a Pez dispenser...And I'm not famous, Princess Leia is... And I look like he.” At 1978 Academy Award, Star Wars earned 10 Oscar Nominations, and took home Seven for Best Visual Effects, Sounds, Editing, and Production design. It didn't win for best picture, but George was still proud and happy. Star Wars earned more money than any other film, and everyone knew it was one of the best movies of the time! Maybe ever!
If the numbers hold when final data are issued on Monday, "Hannibal" will replace 2000's "Mission: Impossible II" ($57.9 million) as the third-highest bow in movie history, after 1997's "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" ($72 million) and 1999's "Star Wars: Episode One -- The Phantom Menace" ($64.8 million). It also set new records for a non-summer opening, an R-rated release and for a release by domestic distributor Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc.
For a Disney film to be popular and successful, some facts must come together to create the blockbuster.
It has a huge impact on popular culture that people feel obligated to go see the films. Star Wars movies are shown and promoted nearly worldwide. In addition, Star Wars is one of the first films to have the most successful merchandise franchise. “These movies began building buzz long before they opened and commanded coverage in magazines and the emerging genre of infotainment television” (Bordwell and Thompson 683), basically Star Wars is a mega picture. It is everywhere and all over people’s faces, for example Episode VII has been promoted in the past year all over the world. The movie tickets in many theaters have sold out because people feel obligated to see it. On the other hand, films in the 1890’s did not have the type of promotion Star Wars has received, but a lot of people went to see the short silent films. Due to a few reasons: for entertainment, escape reality, popular culture, and going out to the movie theater to watch a film was a social norm at the time. When it came to merchandise, Disney was doing it for years, but merchandise did not make a huge impact until Star Wars. As a result, Star Wars changed and inspired new promotion and money-making strategies for all the Hollywood
