A is for Amazing GFuel One day I had finally saved up enough for some good old GFuel, so I went out and bought a Visa gift card from CVS, which I spent $110 dollars on. On the way riding there on my new blue mountian bike I got for christmas, I was really regretting it since it was so freezing cold outside, and riding a bike didn’t really help. Once I got there I was so happy since it wasn’t as cold as it was outside. I knew the routine. 1. I walk past the counter over to the gift card section. 2. Grab the visa gift card I wanted ($100 in my case). 3. Go to the counter and wait for somebody to assist me. 4. Check out and leave. I raced home through the dark eerie feeling sunset. Once I got home I ran to my room which is the last room in
Elizabeth Glaser, co-founder of the Pediatric AIDS foundation, was infected with the AIDS virus during a blood transfusion when she was giving birth to her first child. Her daughter became quite ill in 1985 and after several tests and treatments the entire family was tested for the human immunodeficiency virus. Elizabeth, her daughter, Ariel, and her son, Jake, all tested positive. She then went to Washington D.C. to help fight AIDS and raise awareness for the cause. She met with several influential politicians, activists, and first ladies including President Reagan, Nancy Reagan, and Barbara Bush to discuss ways to improve HIV care and research. She worked with congress and raised the budget to help fight pediatric AIDS from 3.3 million to
One summer morning, I woke up excited. My friends and I were going to Hershey Park. I’ve been busy this summer, so this is the first time I was able to go. Hershey Park is a big amusement park with big roller coasters and a big water park. The Fahrenheit is my favorite ride there. I woke up, took a shower, got dressed, ate breakfast, and waited for them to pick me up at my house. While I sat on my couch, I had my bag with a towel and a bathing suit for the water park and I could put my phone there. I was ready to go.
As a result from extreme hard work and perseverance followed by an unmatchable drive to succeed, Donald J. Trump has earned the right to be known as a multi-billionaire, real estate icon, and President of the United States of America. Reflecting on his life, he has faced many challenges and overcame them all. To understand how he rose to success and his journey to the top of the kingpin, it is important to recognize how he saw the american dream and pursued it. Today, many recognize him as the president but very few can fully grasp all that he has done in his life. From his start as a real estate mogul, to his impact on media, there are many questions as to how he became so recognizable today.
When we arrived home, I ended up in my bedroom; I don't remember the trip from
Life presents a wide array of obstacles as well as opportunities, and it is important to be prepared to take on whatever it is that life has to offer. In his Harvard Commencement Address, Will Ferrell reinforces this idea into the 2003 graduating class of the prestigious Harvard University as they prepare to move on to do greater things. His comedic approach is successful due to his ability to evoke feelings of laughter from his audience while also making them realize that they are entering a new stage of life. Although Ferrell is speaking directly to the class of 2003, anyone who listens to or who views his speech will experience humor in an otherwise serious event, and they will reflect on their own life or envision their future. Through
In class we had a powerful speaker, Ari Schonbrun from Cantor Fitzgerald that came to speak to us about his life-changing experience on September 11, 2001. After the discussion I began to process the advice, and after contemplation I realized that I was being reminded of the legacy I want to leave and the story I want to be written about my life. For example, he asked a question “Does anyone have a dream?” YOu would like with what’s going on in the world, people would hope that somehow they can make a difference. So I responded “I want to be one of the most powerful people that made a tremendous impact in the world.” I wouldn’t know what to call myself because I don’t just want to be label under one category, I want to utilize my skills, passion
11:14 p.m.-I slowly ascend from my small wooden chair, and throw another blank sheet of paper on the already covered desk as I make my way to the door. Almost instantaneously I feel wiped of all energy and for a brief second that small bed, which I often complain of, looks homey and very welcoming. I shrug off the tiredness and sluggishly drag my feet behind me those few brief steps. Eyes blurry from weariness, I focus on a now bare area of my door which had previously been covered by a picture of something that was once funny or memorable, but now I can't seem to remember what it was. Either way, it's gone now and with pathetic intentions of finishing my homework I go to close the door. I take a peek down the hall just to assure myself one final time that there is nothing I would rather be doing and when there is nothing worth investigating, aside from a few laughs a couple rooms down, I continue to shut the door.
As we walked through the woods on the dark cold night in October we notice screaming of what we had thought to be the neighbor girl. We creep closer to the large mansion and climb the gates to get in the massive front yard. As me and my friends Kevin, Douglas, and randy reach the front door, we slowly creep open the front door, we hear screams and yells and very quickly leave the situation. We head back to the house for the night and decide that we will make a plan and return to the mansion tomorrow.
The room was filled with tons of books, I got up and started to walk towards the hallway. From the shape of the rooftop and the tunnel-like corridor, it looked like I was in an underground place and by surprise, the living room was filled with a lot of interesting things. Again like a shadow, V magically appeared behind my back. “What is this place?” I asked, “My home” he replied.
living room it was nicer than mother new house and fathers old house. Me and mother walked
When I was 10 years old my friend took me mountain biking for the first time. It was the most fun thing i had ever done. It was hard when i was littler because i could not afford to buy new parts and upgrades. I would save up my birthday money every year and i would get a new part or something else. One year i bought a BMX bike to ride around the neighborhood, thinking that it would be cheaper because it
Running, I took the shortest way home. I just couldn't wait to get to my room and open the jars of paint.
Lo and behold, I opened the door and saw nothing but darkness. Flustered and confused, I returned back to my chair in the study, thinking about
