POSITION: Alumnae Association - Membership Development Chairman (V)
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Membership Development Chairman and her committee welcome Kappas who are new to the area or the alumnae association as well as nurture existing relationships. This role maximizes the leadership opportunity presented to bring the sisterhood of Kappa Kappa Gamma to the local members, strengthening bonds of friendship and continuing our tradition of leadership. The Membership Chairman role is not a requirement of an alumnae association yet, is strongly recommended. This position is a commitment of three to five hours per week. Greet and introduce newcomers at meetings and in the community.
Examine your association’s galleys; Identify age groups that are dues-paying members and age groups that are not paying members.
Collaborate with the Program Chairman to identify your membership demographic and make programs relevant to every generation.
Form a committee to call every alumna listed on the galley to verify contact information and invite them to become a member.
Maintain historical records of the association membership and follow up with Kappas who previously paid dues but not in the current year; Encourage them to join and remain a member in good standing. Verify association officers and those serving as advisers and House Board members are current with dues
Other duties as needed for benefit of the board or association.
General Duties 30 percent
Be familiar with all policies and procedures of the Fraternity and the association.
Identify and develop members interested in future leadership positions.
Empower and motivate all members.
