I have had a very good career either as a part-time or full-time member of the Mississippi Air National Guard. I would have never believed as a young airman basic right out of boot camp I would have been able to achieve so much. I feel very blessed to have been a young airman all the way to a Lieutenant Colonel and Command Pilot. As I see it I have approximately ten years left in my career as an Officer in the Mississippi Air National Guard. Following is a list of my near, mid and long term personal and professional goals. Personal Goals: Near-Term: Life is always full of surprises and I know that we are always blessed to have another day on this earth. In the short term as I am a father I want to spend time with my four children. …show more content…
As I am still fairly young I believe that I still help with my hands. I have been blessed with the ability to work with my hands. I enjoy building things with my hands and working on projects around my home. I believe that I can use these talents to help other that are less fortunate. This is something that I have always wanted to do, but unable to complete due to my busy life. Long-Term: As I move later in my life I would like to work with organizations such as boys and girls club. As my children get older and move out, I would like to spend my time as a mentor to younger children. I have been blessed with a good life and would like to give back to my community. I am tired of seeing young make poor choices in life especially when there is so much opportunity out there for them. My second long-term goal is to think about retirement and beyond. I have been blessed with such an amazing career. I would like to be able to retire from work and spend time with my wife and future grandchildren. I would like to be financially secure and healthy enough to continue helping others. Professional …show more content…
The 186OG has two squadron commander positions and I believe that I can best serve as the 153rd Squadron Commander. I should be able to use my many years of experience as a command pilot to help mentor young and mid-level pilots. I will also be able to use my experience as the executive officer and relationships with FM to help obtain the resources we need at the squadron level. Mid-Term: As within any organization, one must continue to progress and not become stagnate. At my mid-term, I would like to serve as the Operations Group Commander. I would be able to use my years of experience as an aviator and Executive Officer to provide direction for the Operations Group. I believe that I can lead this exceptional group of Officers and Enlist member to provide the exceptional aviation and service that the 186ARW is known for. My Second mid-term goal is to serve at the National Guard Bureau (NGB). As members of the Air National Guard, we have a duty to serve at the national level. At the national level I can bring my experience from the unit level to help make and improve the NGB for all
FBLA has been such a defining point in my high school career and vital part in who I am today and even who I will be in the future. Becoming an officer would allow me to see to that other students that are new to FBLA also experience the same things as I have so that they could not only grow within FBLA but also in life. I hope to, as part of becoming a potential officer, that I can encourage others in FBLA as was done to me by older peers. Hopefully with this, we can have a large increase in membership and activity to improve our chapter.
I have led, recognized and employed the strengths and talents of those Airmen entrusted to me. I have lead from the front only because I have earned the trust of those behind me. I believe in and embody our service's core values in my personal and professional lives. I am the 'Whole Airman' through excellent technical aptitudes, unrivaled commitment to duty and a genuine desire to improve our force. Time and time again, and without reservation, my family and I sacrificed our wants and time for the demands of my profession. My family and I fully understand what this transition entails and as an officer, I will be fully devoted to the duties and Airmen entrusted to me. As a prior-enlisted officer, I will empathize with my Airmen ensuring their contributions are recognized and further develop them in every facet that is our Air Force culture. Finally, as a commissioned Airman, I intend to serve long and decisively to honor those that have served before us, my family’s proud military heritage and my wife and daughter…who drive me to be successful and strive for every new
I believe that with my leadership qualities, I would be a
My initial reason to enter the Air Force was a great way to pay for college which turned into a call of duty and a service commitment which has actively allowed me to contribute to the Air Force mission. Thus far I have led a joint force search and rescue effort and a multinational exercise to preserve freedom. As an F-15E instructor WSO and combat mission ready WSO I actively contribute to ensure our freedoms are preserved and the attacks of September 11, 2001 will never happen again.
I will use the positional power of legitimacy appropriately to change the tone of the organization. Additionally, I will be emotionally intelligent and responsive to influence positive behavior across the Brigade to increase confidence in the chain of command. Starting with the end state in mind, the assumption of the RAF mission, and working backwards I will set clear objectives and use key events such as line haul/download operations, equipment turn in, new equipment training (NET) and fielding, and special Rapid Fielding Initiative (RFI) to create a predictable timeline. All events will operate with a sense of disciplined urgency to break up complacency. Creating a guiding coalition of the willing is my next
I aspire to become a leader in my family and community inspiring those around me to maximize life to its fullest potential. To use my God given gifts and talents to apply the principles necessary, to make a significant difference in the lives of others. To live a balanced life challenging myself intellectually as well as allowing time for my mind to rest and do things I enjoy. To look at life through a child’s eyes, not being distressed about the past or worrying about the future. All the while dancing like nobody’s watching.
...d me with our staff and Soldiers we have been given the opportunity to lead. The time and effort spent will be well worth it. Possessing a shared understanding of the operational environment will aid in our planning process when conducting operations throughout our theater of operation. In every operation we execute we know that we will accept prudent risks, identification and mitigation of those risks will determine our ability to accomplish our mission. Incorporating the principles of mission command by building cohesive teams through mutual trust, fostering an environment of shared understanding, and accepting prudent risk will make me an effective adviser to the commander, aid the staff during the operations process, and provide an example for Soldiers to emulate. My involvement in all aspects of mission command is critical to the success of our organization.
PART I - Considerations TIG: 5.5 years TIS: 11 years Current Training Status: You are completely trained and signed off on all required 7 level tasks and are fully qualified to execute all tasked assigned that fall within your skill level. Team Member Most Probable Preferred Role: Your preferred role is that of a creator, evident by the way you created the Squadron and Group Coins from scratch and was lauded by the Commander. You did assume the other roles as well but didn’t’ assume them until you were guided by others but perfectly assumed the creator with no prompting. I have been blessed to have led a highly fulfilling career over the past 22 years. The Air Force’s standards of conduct and performance have helped me mature into an adult while creating lasting memories along the way. I have had the opportunity to make significant contributions to my country that offer a sense of pride and personal achievement. My current duties allow me to directly contribute to the Air Force and Joint arena on an almost daily basis. Joining the Air Force helped me to realize I had undertaken a task bigger than myself.
My goal is the final destination of my financial success. It is to be able to pay bills without worry, be free of debt, have enough money for my kids to go to colleges and help other people with my financial resources.
A warrant officer program is something that would work well here. The option to sacrifice one’s ability to promote to Maj, Lt Col, Col or higher while moving into big AF leadership roles (either out of a lack of desire to pursue leadership or even a lack of leadership potential) while continuing to fly for the Air Force as a warrant officer (with certain pay changes that come along with that line of progression) has the potential to retain those line flyers that would otherwise
It has always been my dream to become an officer in the military ever since I was young. My uncle was in the military and loved it, he always told me stories about it and how much he enjoyed it. Growing up hearing his stories and seeing his uniform made me want to do it one day. Well, for me that one day is here now and I am proud to put on that uniform and call myself a soldier. I have always been a leader in my family, my community, and in my life in general. I like to not just be in charge but, I like to inspire those around me. I enjoy setting the example for those around me to follow.
My biggest dream of all is to be remembered. I want to touch people in such a way that they will never forget who I am. I want them to tell their grandchildren stories about me and for them to tell their grandchildren and so on. That way, I’ll still be alive years after I actually die. However, this will be very difficult.
My long-term personal goal is to be at a place where I am genuinely happy with myself and my life and not allowing others and their opinions on me or what I have done or am doing in life to
Secondly, I would want to maintain a good relationship with those who surround me(,) by doing so my future would benefit because I would have support and advice from the people who love me the most. My next goal is to help my community by helping stray animals that have no where to go(.) to be able to reach this i would need to funraise as well as be financially available(.) i would need help from other people who have the same dream i do. FInally(,) the fifth goal is to be active i would like to have my own gymnastics/ dance company(.) i loved doing this when I was younger and i would invite children from public schools to have this after school
