Communication is act of delivering information from one place to another. To either do, ask or just to talk to someone about something so it is important to be carful in what we say, act or do. At my placement as a health and social care worker communication is one of the most important task.
Effective communication is important when working with collogues because without it we can`t understand each other’s needs. Part of being able to communicate effectively is to listen well to what others have to say and collaborate with each other. Every one takes a turn to speak while others listen. If I speak fast and in a low pitch no one will hear what I have to say. Verbal communication can take place either using a phone or when talking to some one in person. We use words to talk about feelings, ideas, taught and dreams. When you use the verbal communication you have to be carful how you approach the people that you are addressing. –
Example: At school, during a lecture I communicate with my classmates using verbal communication.
Non-verbal communication is we are sending and receiving wordless messages to each other such as the use of body language, Appearance, hand movement, pictures, signs or symbols. From facial expressions we can tell if a person was surprised, happy or sad. Non-verbal communication is actually a very powerful tool, eye contact is the most important matter when we are communicating with some one and it shows whether you care or not about the information being given to you, if you don’t care what the person is telling you wont even look at his eyes to give feedback. How we sit, walk or stand up is a type of non-verbal communication. -
Example: if I have an interview and I sit down without permission with my legs on the table I am non-verbally telling the employer that I am not really interested in the job or that I take the job
When we think of communication, we tend to think of speech, but there is a lot more to it than verbal communication. Gesturing, tone of voice and facial expressions are all parts of communication that are not verbal. We may not even always realize how much of communication is non-verbal, because we normally don’t think about it that way. However, it would be nearly impossible to communicate without non-verbal communication.
Communication is the way each one of us communicates to one another in the world today. For instance, if there act no way in relating to a person by understanding the person. There are two forms of communications, and called the verbal communication and the second one is called nonverbal communication. Oral consist of communicating with your voice with another person while nonverbal consist of communicating through the body language or gesture of an individual. The principles of teaching are to understand better a person in different places of the world.
People communicate for specific reasons, such as: fear, anger ,pain, joy ,love. Communication happens on many different scales.... but it is everywhere. Communication is about transferring your thoughts in a way that you believe to be the easiest for the person you are attempting to communicate with. Communication needs to be open and sensitive, as well as appropriate to the situation. People live and communicate within a range of different groups and communities, including: families, neighbourhoods, workplaces, schools and colleges, interest/activity groups, commercial settings, users of professional services.
The world is changing rather fast and the communicator has to keep pace with the change. However, there are certain elements in all effective communication and to communicate effectively these attributes are to be taken care of. The elements of effective communication can be discussed under several headings:
Communication is something we all humans use. Communication “is the sharing of information between individuals by using speech”. People have ways of communicating some have their weaknesses in conversations and others have their strengths. When I communicate with others I feel that some things I say I do not verbalize right. I have two strengths and three weaknesses in my communicating. My three weakens in my communication are, check nonverbal feedback, to make people wrong and recognize that people understand information in different ways and my two strengths in my communication are being flexible, and take responsibility for the communication.
Communication is the process of conveying information to each another using words, actions, or by writing the information down to be read by another person. Communication is something that most people do at some point each day, and is an important part of life especially in a working environment. “The concept of communication is an essential part of every profession, and it is required to foster and maintain healthy relationships”( Jasmine, 2009, para. 1).
Verbal communication is when a sender communicates by speaking. However there are some pros and cons towards using verbal communication. For example, when someone uses verbal communications they can understand what message they are trying to send without any explanation however, some people have different ways of saying things especially people from different cultures because they have different accents and dialects.
One’s career, school life, and even socializing are affected by communication. If you do not know how to communicate, you probably do not have many friends. Communication has been used since the days of the cavemen. When the cavemen learned to communicate they greatly increased their hunting potential. When they learned to communicate on the hunt and before the hunt, they caught much more game then when they were just randomly running after the animals with spears. In school, if teachers and students could not communicate well, how would anything ever get done? In a business, communication is the most important ingredient. Working at a corporation at a higher level, you deal with hundreds of important emails, meetings, phone calls, and other forms of communicating with your co-workers.
But, remember that verbal communication is not the only form of communication. Your nonverbal communication can say a lot to the receiver (i.e. body language. Use supportive messages rather than defensive ones to be more productive. Any conflict can be resolved through correct and effective communication.
Communication is important in relationships as it allows us to share our interest, concerns, support each other; organize our lives and make decisions; and it allows us to work together. Effective communication is based on the way we talk and listen, how we respond and our body language. We can all learn how to improve the way we communicate.
Clearly, communication plays a significant role in every aspect of our life. Communication is the simply act of conveying information from one person to another by using voice (verbally), gesture or body language (nonverbally), books or magazines (written), pictures (visually). The better communication skills that one has is the better the information could be transferred and received. The ability to convey information successfully and clearly is a fundamental life skill and should not be underestimated. Additional, effectively communication is the key to solve problems in any situation. With good communication skills, you can absolutely improve your professional life as well as strengthen your social and family relation ship. Indeed, communication allows us to relate and understand each other. “It also provides us with a significant frame of reference and relational context that sustain our identities.” (Imberti, 2007)

Understanding communication skills such as; listening, non-verbal communication and managing stress can help better the relationships one has with others.
