Everyone wants to be successful, and we all have different visions of success. For me success is to have a goal, plan the steps to achieve the goal, follow the plan, and finally achieve the goal. I will be successful when get my degree and find a job in a psychology field. To be able to achieve my goal I have to have a plan and strategies and I have to follow them. There are different strategies that people can follow to achieve their goals depends on the goals they have. There are some strategies that I think I need to follow to be able to achieve my goal. Self-esteem Personal responsibility is one of most important factors. Taking responsibility for our actions equals success. actions. Once we accept total responsibility for our actions, we will soon discover that this also enables you to find solutions to life’s difficulties far more quickly. For example, I failed my math class last semester. I could just think that wasn’t my fault and blame other people for that. So I would never change my actions and I would do the same thing over and over. I would never be able to see what I did wrong. But I thought about it and I see that I had a good instructors. He was very helpful, I was the one who didn’t want to ask questions or ask for help. So I learnt my lesson. I have to ask my questions and contact my instructors if I have any questions or concerns. I took full responsibility for that so I can do something different this time to be successful. Self-esteem Self-motivation is the key to academic success.
You have to be able to motivate yourself when you are getting tired. People have different motivations and their motivations make them to keep going and achieve their goal. “By focusing your mind on a positive goal instead of an ambiguous fear, you put your brain to work. It instantly begins devising a plan for success. Instead of worrying about the future you start to do something about it. This is the first step in motivating yourself to take action. When know what you want, you become motivated to take action” (Falconer, 2007). Self-motivation is very important for my academic success. When I get tired or I lose my motivation, I start listening to crime podcasts. They make me motivated because this is what I love to do. So I start again. motivated. Self-esteem Time management is another important factor for academic success.
You have to be able to manage your time based on your priority. So you know what you need to do first. You have to put your school work first. You have to make sure that you are done with your school work first and then you can do other stuff. If you want to be successful, you have to take care of your school work first. This has happened to me several times. Sometimes my friends ask me to go out with them on weekends. I cannot go out with them most of the time because I have assignments. So I know what my priority is. I have to do my assignments first and then I can go out with my friends. So we have to manage our time and priority to be able to achieve our
goals. Emotional Intelligence Stress management can help students succeed in college. Students have to be able to manage their stress to be able to be successful and achieve their goals. “For the majority of students, stress and anxiety don’t get in the way of living a productive daily life. But it’s when stress becomes distress” (O’Rourke, 2015). So students have to make sure that stress and anxiety don’t get in their way. There are many ways that student can manage their stress. They can go to their school health center and meet a counselor. yoga and meditation can help student to manage their stress as well. I believe that they need to find out the best way that makes them to feel relax. Running works so great for me. It reduces my stress and make me feel relax. Self-esteem Students have to believe in themselves to be able to be successful. If they don’t believe in themselves they cannot do anything. Students have to develop an "I can do this!" attitude. “Unlike high school, you are not forced to attend, complete your assignments or even graduate. To succeed, you must be confident, dedicated and have a strong work ethic. You must also have the ability and determination to solve problems when you encounter them and keep on going. If you do not have confidence in your problem solving skills, are unsure of yourself or can't really says you're going to follow through to the end, you can become stressed and drop out”(Education Corner,2017). So if students don’t believe in themselves no matter what they do, they can never reach their goal. Therefore, it is very important to think that we are strong and we can reach our goal. Students have to know that they get where they want to if they believe in themselves. I used to think that I can never do mathematics. But recently, i changed that, I think I can do math and I can be great in math.
Over thousands of years people have been driven by success, but what is success? Success to me is the ability to perform at your highest level in the path in life that you take. I believe that if you are not driven to be the very best at the things you do then it is not a calling. There are plenty of opportunities in life and you should take everyone you get. Success is a word that is on a broad spectrum, there is no single definition to the word. I define what success is for me. There is no set image of success, success is also constantly changing. The word success means achieving what I want to do in life, and to prosper in the situations my life has put me in.
Throughout our lives we all experience a variety of things that help us define what success means to us. Some people look at success in a materialistic sense, while others take a more spiritual approach. Regardless of the way we view success or the factors that influence that view, we each have our own very unique Personal Philosophy on the subject. Personally, my philosophy is that the implementation of success strategies is key to achieving what one chooses to define as success. I have found that the three most effective success strategies I can use for years to come are being a critical thinker, improving concentration, and being an active listener. All three of these strategies are very practical and relevant to both my educational and professional pursuits, and therefore have proven to be the most effective in regards to my Personal Philosophy of Success.
To me success is knowing that I didn't just meet my goal, I overachieved my goal. If I don't meet my goals, that's fine. All I need is to try my hardest and give it my all and I will be fulfilled. Reaching your goals is important but It is very necessary to sit down and think about other stuff like, what you value or what is important to you. The most important things to me is my family, friends, health and education. I also value achievement, adventure, happiness and knowledge. In total with your view of accomplishment and success in mind, you can succeed and reach your goals.
Success is a buzzword that many people use to define their accomplishments. Many people view success as an achievement of a plan or a set of goals. Even though they know what success is, they are still not able to reach the goals they have set for themselves. What is the reason for this? Could it be their lack of proper planning or lack of effort to achieve their set goals?
Success only truly comes with being happy. Happiness and success are the accomplices of one another. Someone cannot have accompanies without the other. Happiness brings success, and success brings even more happiness. Success, in the dictionary, is defined as the achievement of something desired planned or attempted. Therefore, success cannot be judged by anyone than oneself. It is a personal thing. It is the realization of goals, desires or plans made by one 's self. It is not measurable and yet is something we always use to compare others or appraise someone 's worth. Success, in one form or another, is something that someone should always be striving for. For some people it is something they will do subconsciously, and for others it will be something they will constantly labor for. Academic Success, the goal of most students, requires: effort, perseverance, and motivation. Although most want it, many fall short; not because they are unintelligent, but because they lack the drive and mindset necessary to achieve it. A negative outlook can lead to many troubles down the road; authors Carol Dweck (“Brainology: Transforming Students’ Motivation to Learn”) and Rebecca Cox ( “ The Student Fear Factor”) share the same beliefs; a student's mindset is crucial for the basis of their academic performance.
