Legacy Essay
Legacy is how you want to be remembered by people. Some people will leave great legacies, but others will leave careless ones. If you asked me in the beginning of middle school, “What will your legacy be by the end of 8th grade,” I would have said “I don't know” or “I don't think I would have left a legacy.” I have left legacies outside of school, but when I'm standing in my cap and gown receiving my diploma I’m going to hope I left a bold legacy. Now It's the start of 8th grade, a brand new year full of opportunities. It's time to start my legacy, are you ready?

To me success is knowing that I didn't just meet my goal, I overachieved my goal. If I don't meet my goals, that's fine. All I need is to try my hardest and give it my all and I will be fulfilled. Reaching your goals is important but It is very necessary to sit down and think about other stuff like, what you value or what is important to you. The most important things to me is my family, friends, health and education. I also value achievement, adventure, happiness and knowledge. In total with your view of accomplishment and success in mind, you can succeed and reach your goals.
I encourage you to always stay determined and focused on anything you do so you can not just succeed but you can over-achieve. Without exception you need to stay open-minded and be careful of your actions cause everything you do can affect your legacy. A quote from Swami Sivananda states “Put your heart, mind and soul into even your smallest acts. This is the secret to success.” This quote influences me because it's stating that just try your best in everything you do and you will succeed, not just your goals but in life as well.
“My Mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some humor, and some style. “ - Maya

Success can be an extremely broad subject. There is an abounding amount of different views on what the “true” definition of success is. Personally, I believe that success is finding happiness. Success is waking up in the morning and not having to worry about whether or not the bills are going to be paid this month. Success is having a job that you enjoy going to every day. Success is having friends and family who love and support you. Success does not mean that one has to be exceedingly rich or have a lakeside mansion. As long as they are happy, they have succeeded in life.
...I make here and now form who I will be when it matters even more. Just as leadership lessons can be learned in a History of the Military Art class in an interdisciplinary manner, I need to focus on pulling as many lessons from my time at West Point so I can apply them when the stakes are potentially much higher.
come with a goal in life - to succeed on it. With that kind of mentality I
Commencement is a critical juncture in our lives; it is a momentous occasion where we believe we are about to start anew. However, graduation is the bittersweet moment where the forces of past and future are simultaneously acting on us. Consequently, the past is not dead. Alfred, Lord Tennyson, suggests that our past experiences will be with us forever as he states, " [we] are a part of all that [we] have met; yet all experience is an arch where through gleams that untraveled world." That is why graduation, similar to other turning points in our lives, possesses two halves, which accentuate each other. We are looking forward, but the "arch" of experience beckons us to remember, value, and learn from our past experiences. Thus, I feel that in order to appreciate commencement fully, we must remember our own past, and in particular, the last four years:
I will be remembered for advocating for more school programs, more supplies, and more arts. I will be remembered for making the school a better place for the students, faculty and parents. I will make an impact on all of my students. They will be pushed to do their best. They will be pushed to try harder.
In every great life story, a legacy is left behind. A legacy shows people how you lived, and the impact you had on others while you lived. For me, my last name has left somewhat of a legacy in Johnstown. My dad has been involved in both Johnstown and Milliken in various ways, and has become a well known name throughout the towns, even being named citizen of the year in Johnstown. My older brother was a leader in every aspect of his life and left his legacy on Roosevelt with his Student Body President and Valedictorian achievements. Now as I finish out my senior year, I would like to think I have left a different and unique legacy that makes me standout even from my family. Along with my Student Body President position and my track and field
When I graduate high school, I would like to be remembered as a person who was important. I want to be a student that my teachers and classmates remember as the girl who was different, someone who didn't care what people thought so much and did what she thought was right. I hope to be a person who made a difference in people's lives, someone who helped out when it was necessary. I wish people would look at my accomplishments and want to do something to be like me. I hope that underclassmen, my friends, my family, and my team members would be proud of my accomplishments and be happy to have known me. When school is over and we're all living our own lives I hope they would look back and talk about me with pleasure and say only good things about who I was.
Despite what I’ve dared to become in the long run, I’ve always strived to leave with a lasting impression wherever I went. Give the last word, have the last say, express the final thought, an impression that leaves an impact to my audience, my people, yearns for the positive outcomes. To accomplish this, I have been studious with my academics and held strong ties with my extracurricular activities inside and outside of school. I have always challenged myself in terms of academics to give myself a starting point for my goal. Throughout my high school career, when offered, I would take the highest leveled class of every subject.
We valiantly struggle to do our best, and pass within the necessary limits. Some breezed by on the wings of their genius while some studied day and night to keep up with our peers. Whichever of these you were, you worked hard enough to make it here. We are watched on by these people who have seen us this far, and will be there for us farther.
