A Struggle that Leads to Growth
We all live in the same planet, yet some people hide their faces or
either moving away from their struggles and some is positive and
confident to overcome their obstacles. Anyone who faces with a
struggle in their life is in a continual battle and only the one who
stands firmly through all the barriers will be victorious in the end.
I think that even with all the power and understanding we have, if one
gives up their life simply because of their struggle, then that person
also lacks hope and courage to fight against their barrier and he or
she definitely fails. The struggle in our life is like a massive
bricked wall in the course of your life, we can either choose to
conquer it with an optimistic attitude or choose to be pessimistic and
stay in the exact position. I myself too have struggles in life and
that is my struggle for true knowledge and wisdom. Knowledge, is as
simple as it may sound, however what I struggle in knowledge is
something greater and more complex than it may sound.
As student, I am exposed to knowledge everyday ranging from the arts
to the abstract theories of math and science. I am definitely sure
that many of us require time to digest the numerous data inputted in
our brains everyday and nonetheless there are some of us who struggle
against the new knowledge that we’re engulfed with. In elementary
school that was what I believe the struggle that hinders me from
climbing to the summit of knowledge. Perhaps because I was only in
the early stages of my childhood, therefore I wasn’t sure what the
true meaning of knowledge was. In addition, I began to develop a plan
and ...

...u may have overcome your struggles and the summit can be only
determined by yourself. Regardless of that, I will continue to hold a
positive attitude when I’m faced with other struggles in the future.
“Never expect that the events of life are favorable all through,” an
aphorism that my father tells me consistently and I think it is
certainly true. I will eventually have to make continual struggles
during the course of my life, whether I like it or not. I should
never turn my back on it but face the issue patiently. I should be
brave, courageous and confident. I believe if I pursue my life’s
journey steadily and with tranquility through all the struggles I have
to endure, success will eventually come. Additionally, this success
perhaps will be another motivation for me to conquer another struggle
in the future.
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts”
Knowledge can be the key to success and can lead people to happier life. However, there are some instances that you can not gain any more knowledge because of how it would change your whole life. The drive of wanting more and more knowledge is best portrayed through two well -known books. In Mary Shelley’s, Frankenstein, and in Daniel Keyes, Flowers for Algernon, both the creature and Charlie are ostracized by society because they are different from everyone else but this distinction gave way for distinct fallouts because of their quest for knowledge beyond their reach to achieve happiness.
At some point in life most people have allowed at least one challenge to defeat them, if not more. Then there are those people who view these challenges as simply that, a challenge. This was the theme throughout Kyle Maynard’s novel, No Excuses, I learned that it is how we go about conquering these challenges that defines us as people. Throughout his novel he notes things will not always come easily; therefore, it is up to us to dig deep and conquer our goals. By finding alternate routes and adjusting your mindset, we are able to achieve any goal we set our minds to. Because it is not the obstacle that holds us back but it is ourselves that keeps us from fulfilling our greatest
Our knowledge is a key to our success and happiness in our life to give us personal satisfaction. Knowledge is power but not always. Sometimes our self-awareness and growth as an individual gives us negative thoughts that make us want to go back to undo it. Everyone wants to unlearn a part in our life that brought us pain and problems. Good or bad experiences brought by true wisdom can be used for our self-acceptance, self-fulfillment and these experiences would make us stronger as we walk to the road of our so called “life”, but Douglas’s and my experience about knowledge confirmed his belief that “Knowledge is a curse”. Both of us felt frustrated and sad from learning knowledge.
Through life men and women have always struggled. From the early days all to the days of the present. During those times, there has been much literature on how to survive trials of life; nevertheless, some great works of literature that express triumph are Eudora Welty’s “A Worn Path” and Claude McKay’s “If We Must Die”. In “A worn Path” the journey is expressed to show the journey of a brave woman. “If We Must Die” encourages us to keep fighting even if we are going to lose the battle. These works of art can motivate anyone to keep on going with through hard times in our lives.
Learning and growing from conflict is one way that we can earn wisdom, in which is highly beneficial for making future decisions. In the novel The Giver by Lois Lowry, the main protagonist, Jonas, gains wisdom through the suffering that he faces from the memories he received from the Giver. Unlike the others living within their community, Jonas knows the feeling of pain and suffering which gave him the wisdom that only he and the Giver had. With that wisdom comes a person that is capable of making better decisions in the future, and that wisdom is only obtained if one has encountered hardships and knows the feeling of great agony. With the obstacles that we face, we are able to further appreciate the success and happiness that it yet to come as we overcome the never-ending obstacles that are always being relentlessly thrown at
Success without adversity is impossible. Everyone in life has their ups and downs and nothing in this world is perfect. At some point in life, hardships begin to occur and that’s when the real test begins. Some people rise up and try their absolute best to take a stand against the challenge. Then there are others that would crawl back into their shells, crying for mercy. There should be no excuse for giving up or not putting in the effort. People are only successful in winning the battle of adversity when they are mentally tough. The intense game of adversity can be referred to football.
In Salon’s article, “The perils of “Growth Mindset” education: Why we’re trying to fix our kids when we should be fixing the system,” Kohn argues the fact that forcing students to change their mindset is not going to help them succeed, and forcing students to have a different view on grades and effort will create more of a fixed environment . What is going to help students succeed, however, is improving the curriculum and the way that teachers present information to their students. Some of the topics that students learn are not necessary, and too much time is spent complaining about fixed mindset. Not enough time is spent trying to improve the curriculum or trying to improve the way that teachers present information to their students. Students
Everyone has trials and tribulations in life , and everyone has obstacles to overcome. What I have learned and reflected from journey is that, I am a better person because of what I have been through. If you take the easy road through life, you will never become strong minded or dedicated to anything. This is why I chose my education to be my greatest accomplishment, because I can truly say I worked hard for
A Growth mindset is all we need in life,Because if you think with a Growth mindset you would be constantly learning. Also hard work, and great focus is a contributor to a growth mindset. From the video Angela Lee-B left her job when she was 27.The reason was because it was to demanding. But when she was there she did notice that IQ did not matter, but how hard and how long you would work did.
and even though I’ve made a progress. I still believe I have not fully succeed on
One might say that hard work along with perseverance are the key aspects of being successful at a task. Having passion for a long term goal, maybe accomplishing a task in which you thought was impossible are skillful examples of grit and the growth mindset. Here are some reasons as to why grit as well as growth mindset can help an individual in achieving academics, along with one's personal life and career.
Throughout my life, I've had to work up to where I am today by overcoming my challenges. In elementary school, an incident that occurred in my academic and personal life that made me realise the importance of grit. With changing schools as well as missing school set me behind my peers. For fear of failing or falling too far behind caused me to try harder by using grit to catch up or surpass my peers. In other words, “The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.” written by Randy Pausch in The Last Lecture. Inspired by this quote about grit shows that even though there is a "brick wall" it is just there to tested that person's determination of achieving that goal. After discovering that it registered to me that there is
The difference between fixed and growth mindset is, a fixed mindset is content on staying at a constant level because people tend to believe that they are limited with their life and know no matter how hard they work they are going to remain the same. While on the other hand, growth mind is willing to grow, learn, and develop their skills. Growth mindset creates motivation and productivity in the worlds of business, education, and sports. It enhances relationships. Just looking at the names you can assume what each one means, something fixed, which was resembled and a growing mindset that is growing.
Every person is faced with obstacles in their life that change a persons life completly. It is dependent on how a person takes a situation that defines the outcome. At the current moment a person may see no positivity coming out of the situation but as time progresses a person realises that despite the pain their is a blessing along with it even if it may be unclear. An obstacle that usually takes a person by surprise is usually death. It is never expected and a person does't really wish to experience it or is prepared for it. Being a young person I never though of losing anyone so close to me and inclusively not another person that was around my same age. However, God has plans for each person and I believe that everything he does is for a reason.
