Throughout my life, I've had to work up to where I am today by overcoming my challenges. In elementary school, an incident that occurred in my academic and personal life that made me realise the importance of grit. With changing schools as well as missing school set me behind my peers. For fear of failing or falling too far behind caused me to try harder by using grit to catch up or surpass my peers. In other words, “The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.” written by Randy Pausch in The Last Lecture. The reason for that is grit would be what pushed me to get the education needed to succeed in that career. An example in any job you will have to compete with other people for that job. To get that job, you have to stand out, by having grit it will be transparent to your future boss of your determination and work ethics to get that job. In fact, what grit means is “not just having resilience in the face of failure, but also having deep commitments that you remain loyal to over the years”. What this quote means that to succeed in a future career you have to be determined to reach the goal as well as loyal to that goal. A statistic about job openings records on average, every corporate job opportunity draws in about 250 resumes. Although only 4 to 6 of these people will be called for an interview, and only 1 will get the job. In closing, grit will help to show your loyalty as well as your perseverance to obtain a successful
