The difference between fixed and growth mindset is, a fixed mindset is content on staying at a constant level because people tend to believe that they are limited with their life and know no matter how hard they work they are going to remain the same. While on the other hand, growth mind is willing to grow, learn, and develop their skills. Growth mindset creates motivation and productivity in the worlds of business, education, and sports. It enhances relationships. Just looking at the names you can assume what each one means, something fixed, which was resembled and a growing mindset that is growing.

The type of mindset I have is a growth mindset because I want to grow and become a better person each and everyday. I try to soak up as much knowledge I can from my friends and loved ones around me, so that way I can grow. I enjoy reading articles about issues or interesting facts, I try to read people when I meet them, such as; their tendencies, body language, and an overall interaction with others. If I had to fix something then that would be what I would fix because if I don't then my growth mindset suffers and I can't grow as much as I would like. Its a struggle because after a long week and minimal sleep all you want to do is just rest but you know you can't so trying to motivate yourself is hard to do. That's how I become lackadaisical, but I need to try and remember why I am doing this, my long terms goals, and who believes in me and that will get me out of my funk and back to my growth
It was not until I read Carol S. Dweck’s “Brainology” that I realized I had a fixed mindset. I care more about getting a 4.0 than actually understanding what I am being taught and I also hate struggling. These habits are part of having a fixed mindset. It was after reading this article that I discovered I could change my mindset and be successful. Having a fixed mindset means that you believe that you and others only have a certain amount of intelligence. A growth mindset on the other hand, is believing that everyone has the ability to reach a higher level of intelligence through effort and hardwork.

A fixed mind set to me is a belief that you do not think you can learn anything. The belief that you are born with what you know and can learn. I think a fixed mindset is believing that you are either really good at something and you can do it or you are really bad at something and you will never be able to do it. A growth mindset to me is believing that you can accomplish anything whether it is a challenge to you or not. I believe it is determination. The other thing that growth mindset means to me is that you are teaching your brain instead of believing that you can only do certain things.

For a growth mindset to truly take part on oneself, we should always embrace imperfection. I remember being young as 13, telling myself that I wished I looked like someone else. I never embraced how I look because I looked different from the kids at school. But hiding my imperfection means I will never overcome it. High school was a long road of acceptance.
