Successful advertising occurs when an advertisement effectively reaches its purpose by igniting thoughts, connecting or revealing significant information to specific set of people or audience. Visual advertisements may use attractive colors, models, eye-catching wording, or even earnest and hard to disregard visuals that cause emotion to persuade the intended group or individuals to buy or consider their products. Analyzing advertisements can reveal the true intended audience of an ad and how certain rhetorical skills enables that specific advertisement to be successful or unsuccessful. If a child is upset and truly down for lacking a lollipop, he could be saved by a parent by purchasing that Chupa Chup. In other words, parents could save their children from gloomy and mournful feelings by buying their favorite lollipop. In contrast, this would not have such a simple and clear resolution for adults who deal with depression and are carried to the bar by their helpless and negative feelings. To add, the special advertisement effectiveness comes with the illustration of innocence of the young boy and the child-like world. This makes the ad amusing and brings back parents to a time in childhood where everything was easier and problems were not nearly as serious as they can be in the adult world. In order to feed the analogy, the ad shows the kid’s melancholy facial expression and the tipped over shot glasses to convey the over excessive drinking. The advertisement without a doubt will stir up some emotion for the parents. The innocence of their kid’s won’t last forever and the advertisement sends a purpose to convey the simplicity of children’s life’s and how they are entitled for some happiness and joy from simple things like lollipops.
