Rhetorical Analysis of an Advertisement Advertisements are all over the place. Whether they are on TV, radio, or in a magazine, there is no way that you can escape them. They all have their target audience who they have specifically designed the ad for. And of course they are selling their product. This is a multi billion dollar industry and the advertiser’s study all the ways that they can attract the person’s attention. One way that is used the most and is in some ways very controversial is use of sex to sell products. For me to analyze this advertisement I used the rhetorical triangle, as well as ethos, pathos, and logos. The target audience is both males and females in their late teens to mid twenties. This company gets the male side of the equation by getting their attention and interest drawn to the attractive woman on the right with bright colors drawing your attention there as well as the bottle of whiskey which is right in the middle of the page. Then what gets these peoples attention to stay there is the fact they have an incredibly good looking female who is posing in next to nothing. Then a way that they try and get the females to look at the advertisement and read it is by showing a very plain girl who seems to be very typical of girls during their younger years. Then beside they show the same girl who now has become a women who is very attractive and just seems so much more powerful and sure of herself. One way that you can achieve that is if you drink Evan Williams Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey. The purpose is to get young adults even ones that are under age to drink their whiskey. One piece of specific information that is sent across to you is that the whiskey is aged for seven years before it is sold. The writer’s whole purpose of this advertisement is to try and sell Evan Williams Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. The reason that I think that it advertises to people that are under age because the girl that is on the left in my opinion seems to be under age. Then they got that bottle of whisky which is in between each of the pictures. The author of this advertisement is all about sexual stereotypes such as blonde hair blue eyes and a very large breast size.
In retrospect, it’s clear that the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese ability to combine both methods of warfare played a major role their victory. Their strategy provided them the tools they needed to win. In the end, they recognized that each type of warfare complimented the other to achieve their strategic goals.
Many people enjoy the new car smell just as much as the actual new car. In today’s society there is a wide variety of companies and different brands to choose from. Companies have to advertise their products in a way that would stand out to the intended audience. The commercial for the 2017 Lexus LC adequately persuades its target audience, which is both male and female teenagers and adults, to take an interest in their product.
In this generation businesses use commercial to persuade different types of audiences to buy their product or to persuade them to help a certain caused. If you analyze commercial you can see how certain things play a major role in the success of a commercial. The ad I decide to analyze as an example is the commercial snickers used during the Super Bowl in 2010;”Betty White”-Snickers. This commercials starts off with guys playing a game of football with an elderly women know as Betty White. As Betty White tries to play football she is tackled to the ground. Her teammates refer to her as Mike when they come up to her to ask why she has been “playing like Betty White all day”. This helps inform the audience that Betty White is not actually playing but instead represent another teammate. As the guys keep arguing Mikes girlfriend calls her over and tells her to eat a snicker. Betty White takes the first bite and then suddenly a man appears in her place ready to finish the game. At the end of the commercial the statement "You're not you when you're hungry" is shown followed by the Snickers bar logo. What this commercial is trying to show is that hunger changes a person, and satisfying this hunger can change you back to your normal self. They use different types

At the beginning of the story Nora is very happy, and everything with her family is going great. Nora responds in joy when Torvald brings up all the extra money that he will bring to the family with his new job. But as the story goes on Nora says she is not just a “silly girl” as Torvald says she is. Torvald does not agree that she understands all the business details referring to debt that she incurred to take out a loan to preserve Torvald’s health. She thinks that if she knows all these things about business that she will think that Torvald will see her as an intelligent person that knows more than just being a wife. The Vietnam War was supposed to be a demonstration of how willing the U.S. was to battle communism, but ended up a personal vendetta against the North Vietnamese as the U.S. escalated its commitment in Vietnam infinitely greater than it had ever intended. After World War II, France returned to Vietnam to reclaim their Indochinese colonies after the Ho Chi Minh had declared Vietnamese independence in 1945 (Goldstein 3). The U.S. had just ended a war started by German conquest in Europe, and now was being asked to help France conquer the colonies it lost control of during the war. The Vietnam Nationalists, the same ones who had supported the U.S. in the war against the Japanese not more than a year previous, sought only to peacefully gain their independence from France (Chant 25). In January of 1950, the Viet Minh gained recognition by the governments of the USSR and China, who supplied weapons and places to train (Chant 25). Because the two Communist superpowers recognized the Viet Minh, the Vietnam war became to the U.S. a struggle between capitalism and communism, especially since the Viet Minh were openly communist themselves. By aiding the French, the U.S. thought they were helping their free-trade ally France fight communism, the Communist Party was very strong in France (Goldstein 3). The U.S. feared that Vietnam would fall to communism, and set-off the “domino effect'; for other communist satellites in Indochina (McNamara 76). With weapons and training from Russia and China, the Viet Minh forced France to request help from the U.S. Fearing the spread of communism under Ho Chi Minh’s regime, the U.S. was glad to offer France assistance, but even after the French humiliation at Dien Bien Phu in 1954, the U.S. continued their involvement in Vietnam (Encarta “Vietnam War';). Based on the survey conducted in Part A and the evidence collected, lactose intolerance is an inherited trait which has evolved through natural selection. Human bodies and other mammals realized lactose does not have any benefits after a certain age. Mammal’s bodies started to identify lactose as an unhelpful nutrient and started to decrease the amount of lactase enzymes being produced. Eventually mammals bodies began to save energy by producing very few lactase enzymes and using the energy on something more beneficial for the body. This occurred through natural selection because the mammal’s body realized not producing the lactase enzyme and saving energy is a selective advantage.

At the mic during a poetry reading, she closed her eyes, affected an I'm-a-future-poet-leaureate voice, and said things like, "Desert is just one letter away from something sweet." I kept hearing the Joker say, "Why so serious?" That question inspired my dash-of-serious, otherwise looney nonsense poems. (One of my professors told me that literary critics generally try to "impose sense" on nonsense literature, which is irritating; can't nonsense have its own integrity?) It is agreeing that men should be able to have their way with women. It is showing how men, under the influence, feel as if they are more dominant than usual over women. Men are seen as predators that the women have to get away from. It shows how women are victims to the overpowering dominance of men.I do not feel as if the ad successfully challenged the traditional gender norms, mainly because it encourages men to drink this liquor which may lead to the sexual assault of women. They may feel that this liquor may help them be able to take their victim down. They are basically putting women is danger to the point that they no longer feel safe around men under the influence of Belvedere vodka.
