To whomsoever it may concern, I am very pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Dr. Meghana Srinivas who is applying to Pediatric residency training program at your prestigious institution. I have known her for about three years during which I taught her various topics in Pediatrics prescribed for undergraduate students. I was her attending while she did her sub-internship at the NICU and outpatient department. Starting with her academic accomplishments, during the class she was very attentive, engaged herself in discussions. She would not hesitate to raise meaningful questions and would come up with thoughtful answers and thus contributed to a fruitful learning experience of the entire class. She performed consistently well in assignments and exams all through the year. Dr. Srinivas was at her best when she earned a gold medal for securing the highest score in pediatrics board exam, at the college level. With her exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, efficient bed side manner, she was able to take necessary information from parents to reach an adequate diagnosis. One of them is empathy, with which she advocates to her little patients and has gone beyond the call of duty to help patients in very difficult circumstances. One particular instance was when a 5 year old boy had been diagnosed with acute leukemia and his mother had anything but little financial or family support. Ms. Meghana initiated a fund raiser and went to great lengths in helping the boy receive the best treatment available at an elite oncology institute.
