Nearly all the 5 resolution I chose were mainly about the rest of my high school years. Why? Well because that’s when, in my opinion, more opportunities are given to you. Let me start with the resolution that comes the earliest. The resolution that comes first occurs in the summer of my sophomore year. The resolution is to become a PA (Personal Assistant) for my 5th year in Texprep. Texprep is a summer program you can start in your middle school years to start learning high school subjects. Now why is 5th year so important you may ask? The answer is really simple. During your 5th year you take college classes for free instead of high school. Not only that, but you also volunteer and can earn a minimum of 150 community hours. That’s why I want to attend 5th year and the only way by doing so is go to 4th year and excel in every class to get the opportunity to become a PA. …show more content…
It is to take dual-credit courses that will count towards my college years. I want to enroll in dual-credit because it’ll help me so much in the long run. The reason being is, because I already have college credits I have less years of college to attend. The more classes I can take in dual-credit the less time I’ll be in college. This helps me pay less for the education, graduate earlier, and have more time to go into my career and start making a living for myself. The only way this is possible is by me having straight A’s and not fail a single one of the college
Young kids don’t think about anything past high school. High school is the farthest point fathomed in the sequence of education. It is not until high school that the idea of college comes into play. Personally this reality is accurate. I realized that college being so unbelievably close as it was would be the next step in my life after high school. This caused me to strive to get ahead of everyone else in the college game. I decided to take dual credit classes to earn college hours as well as save my family some money. Since money is a big part of this world, the chance to save some is always welcome. I alas chose to take dual credit because I knew that the class would challenge me and cause me to adapt to the type of work related to college life. This would help prepare me for college and simultaneously make me more intelligent for my test in the real world. These things added to my decision to take dual credi...
Sometimes Dual enrollment classes can be really tough. Therefore, when choosing classes for their senior year; the vast majority choose the most unchallenging classes that require almost no effort at all. People make this decision because they think it would require less work and obviously who would want to work hard while they have a better option? That’s where most of them are wrong! In the long run, even for
As of right now I only have one B. My completion of 9 college credit hours last semester has given me a head start into my future endeavors. This semester 15 college credit hours, in addition to my high school classes, is what I have challenged myself with academically. My strict personal goals, future career pathway, and my outstanding time management have earned me a 4.0 in my college classes. This scholarship should be received by me because, I am a strong willed individual, who puts my education at a higher standard than anything else. A challenge of taking a total of 24 college credit hours, while still going to High School, while maintaining a part time job on the side, is not something most individuals would consider.
My Senior year in High School has officially begun, only one more year at Corona High. I know that Senior year is supposed to be fun, but I believe every year is an opportunity to improve. I have already set my goals for this school year. I believe I can achieve a GPA of 4.0 or above. However, there are some personal goals that I need to complete first. I need to stop my terrible habit of procrastinating. Another goal of mine is to pass my AP tests so I can earn college credit. I also want to learn new things, so I started to learn the basics of Coding, now I need to finish this course. These are some things I look to accomplish this year.
8. Develop new goals and objectives for this year, using the list of strenghts and need you and your parents and teacher developed.
I currently attend Tennessee State University as a freshman. I plan on majoring in Dental Hygiene. I am the first to graduate and attend college in my family so of course everybody has high expectations from me. My mom and dad sacrificed a lot for me to attend school and get a good education and they taught me that without education you really can’t do much with your life. I want to have a good career and a good degree so I can be successful in life. I want to make my parents happy and very proud of the young lady they have raised. My father’s dream has always been for me to major in Dental Hygiene because of how successful I can be. And my dream has always been to make my dad (my inspiration and my role model) happy. When I started off trying to decide my major I had a very hard time because I honestly didn’t know what I wanted to do. I didn’t want to choose a major that I couldn’t really do much with or find a good job with. I asked my dad for help and he told me that this major would fit me perfectly and we looked up more information about it and we looked up the salary for it too and that’s when I knew I had found my major.
My mission statement for 8th grade is to pass and succeed with a 3.75 to a 4.00 GPA. I have my family that can give me love and inspiration. My family has taught me so many things to become a hard worker at school.
...cified directives. Also, I do not want to forfeit my ability to obtain my college degree. After many years had passed, I finally mustered the courage to enter college. Now I can finally see that reaching this goal is close, but yet so far. My current classification is a senior at State University, with plans of graduating in December, 2014. I am proud to say that I have continued a full time job- working in excess of forty hours weekly- sustained a peaceful household, and “honestly” maintained a good grade point average. These are achievements that have made me most proud. The last thing I would ever do is to jeopardize my ability to get my college degree. I have waited a long time for this moment. I have truly learned a valuable lesson through this ordeal. I know that at all cost, it is imperative to do the right thing and manage my time more efficiently.
One major goal I have this year, being a junior is to get good grades and maintain a good G.P.A. I have set this as one of my goals because junior year is the last full year where grades really matter when deciding the fate of your future. To do this, I have limited the time I spend socializing on my phone while studying
Just like many other high school students, I want to go to college but I’m not going straight to college after I graduated from high school. I want to work for at least a year or two. If i can’t get any scholarships I’ll loan the money from the government to go to college. I’ll work part time as well so I can pay back fast and take care of myself. I know it
...t I’m learning now by being in PLP is helping me prepare for these goals and life dreams. This is being achieved through the other students I not only live with, but also have class with, the volunteering opportunities, the classes, and the connections. One of my favorite quotes to live by is from William Arthur Ward and that is, “If you can dream it, you can achieve it,” and I feel like I am working towards just that at this point in my life.
The next set of goal setting importance is my personal goals with the first being to over come the obstacles associated with returning to school.
One primary long term goals that I have set for myself since freshman year was getting the best grades in high school and college to my own abilities. The way I reach this goal is that I use my time wisely in study halls or at home to get homework done. I work extremely hard in study halls to get as much homework done as I can because the less I take home the better because there are other things at home that I could be doing. Another one of my long term goals is going to college for something i 'll enjoy doing for the rest of the life. If I go to college to find a career that is not enjoyable than it could miserable going to work everyday. If you find a job that you enjoy you’ll never have to work a day in your life. I also try to set
Senior year dual enrollment students are held accountable to drive to the designated college and show up for class on time. I will soon be in charge of working and paying for half of my car payment which allows me to drive to Enterprise State Community College (ESCC) and simulates a real world responsibility of maintaining bills. Also, by giving me the task of transportation, I have learned important time management skills in order to show up punctually. College courses at ESCC cost around four hundred to five hundred dollars for three to four credit hours. Paying this amount of money helps serve as a reminder for me to stay focused and do well. By having my parents take on the financial burden, doing well has become a greater responsibility to me, Taking these expensive classes has taught me the important lesson in that paying and working for something will result in more value in the end versus having it handed
However, I do plan to take my plan further and not just stop with that objective. I would like to utilize my degree in ways that I could help myself while helping others. It’s not only important to start with having high marks in your classes, but to also end with exceptional grades as well. During my time in high school, I was pushed not only by teachers, family, or friends to perform to my best ability and to work to the fullest. I was motivated by myself and worked to be as efficient as possible when faced with a seemingly difficult task. I’ve learned that it’s important to utilize skills that one learns through experience, lest it be forgotten in a time of need. If I never learned how to produce such goals for myself, I would not be as motivated to push myself harder and harder as I am now. However, motivation is definitely a common difficulty when you are charged with executing certain tasks you
