In this assignment the duties of everyone in the hospital will be discussed in depth. As a health care professional working at the 21st Century Solutions Health Care Hospital, I will be working with others and identifying ways in which we can provide our patients with the best care. At the 21st Century Solutions Health Care Hospital, the organizational structure consists of: Administration Services, Informational Services, Therapeutic Services and Support. The administration team is a group of individuals who main duty is to make sure that the hospital is ran efficiently. They also teach patients coping mechanisms to help assist them with problems that were created by those speech impairments. There is also the Respiratory department which help with the treatment of patients suffering from heart and lung diseases. Health care professionals in this field would use breathing exercises, medication and or oxygen as forms of medical treatments. The Medical Psychology department mainly focuses on the mental well-being of patients. Health care professionals within this department will use medications, talk therapy, recreational therapy, muscle relaxation and behavior modification as forms of treatment. A hospital that contains a Social Services department, will mainly help aid their patients with referrals leading to seek assistance for things such as: housing, mental, medical and financial services. The Pharmacy department sole role within the hospital is dispense any medications as directed by the physician, they are to provide information to every patient about the drug and the proper way to take them. The Dietary department is responsible for ensuring that patients are maintaining healthy diets. The Sports Medicine department consist of health care professionals that provide rehabilitative services to athletes, educates patients on proper nutrition, demonstrate exercises used to increase strength and flexibility in patients. For an example, the hospital utilizes electronic medical records to increase patient services. Using electronic medical records makes it a lot less difficult for our patients to gain access to their own information without having to request on a needed basis. It is also great for patients because all their information is located in one place making it more accessible which is attractive to our patients (Makoul, Curry, & Tang, 2001). Information technology was also put in to place to reduce the amount of medical errors and to improve patient safety in the hospital. The overall goal for implementing information technology in the hospital was to help improve the overall satisfaction of patients. Health care professionals wanted to decrease the amount of time it took to check in at a hospital and/or doctor’s office all while still providing a more interpersonal interaction. Though we have mentioned mainly pros for information technology, it also has its cons. Information technology has caused unemployment. A lot of jobs has been eliminated causing more people to become unemployed. The biggest issue with the use of information technology is privacy. Though it is quick and more convenient, it does have the ability to be hacked by people wanting to retrieve personal information for their own benefit (Ortiz & Clancy,
