Experience #1 My experienced on Reynaldo Garza Elementary went pretty well and it was my first time actually collaborating with a school counselor. I arrived at the school at 8:15 a.m. and went to the main office to wait for Mrs. Laura Estrada. She was already at the school, but she was in a meeting with Mr. Torres the Principal. She came to meet me in person at the office for the first time and she told me to wait couple minutes because she was responsible for a section of the announcement for that day. She mentioned that she had to announce the character of the day due to being Martin Luther King’s Day. While I was waiting in the officer I got to see the children who were going to sing the anthem and some University students that went to the school to read books to children in the library. It was interesting to see how much activity goes on in a school at such an early time. Many people entering and exiting the office due to paperwork, had appointments with staff members, and picking up children due to being sick. After, Ms. Estrada finished with her duties and she took me to her office. She introduced me to Ms. Abete, who is a part-time school counselor helping her at this time. She explained me her scheduled for today because she mentioned that it changes every week due to being the only full-time elementary school counselor for the school. She mentioned she has to make changes constantly to her schedule in order to meet her administration requirements and the children’s needs. Then, she proceeded by showing me her room around and the little stations she has for children to do activities depending her grade level. She showed me the technology resources she had and how to use it in order to play the movie for th... ... middle of paper ... ...interesting in. I continue helping the school counselors by making sure everything was set up and ready to start the career fair for middle school students. Then, I started to take pictures of all the tables with the presenters before the students came in to the gymnasium and proceeded to invite presenters to grab breakfast snacks from the tables before the career fair started. It was an interesting morning seeing how much movement goes on at school for events. I was always involved in school events, but I never got to see how much efforts school counselors and staff members put in for an event at school. This day made me realize how much I as a student in middle school did not see or comprehend the efforts school counselors put into their student’s future. It was a wonderful experienced to have had the opportunity to help school counselors in a career fair.
Overall, I was grateful for this experience. I was able to find out more about the behind the scenes responsibilities of our schools’ leadership.
Peggy got a part-time job and continued her studies at a local community college. Soon she received a scholarship to a four-year university and enjoyed every moment of it. In the end, Peggy inspired us to take charge of our own future, and not to neglect our work. She taught us that no one else is to blame for the choices we
It was just us: thirty young men, and our two city counselors. I vividly remember the theme of the discussion: "What is your biggest goal and biggest fear in life?" What I heard that night from people I still barely knew astonished me. The hopes and fears that I heard from my fellow city members truly inspired me to work hard in life and do whatever I can to face my fears. When it was finally my turn to share with the group, I told everyone that my biggest goal was to do well in high school and college, find my dream job, have a family, and be happy. That goal may sound very ordinary, but that is truly my dream for the future. Next, I told everyone that my biggest fear was to lose motivation in life. I explained how I work so hard in high school because I have the motivation of my goal that I mentioned previously. If I lost this motivation, I do not know where I would
While only a small percentage of the entire workforce was able to participate in the event, its intention was to provide employees with something to strive toward. It was also rejuvenating for those given the opportunity to attend. The event was inspiring and left you with the feeling that you work for a great company and they do care about you; so much so that they are willing to spend a lot of money and provide you with a wonderful experience . The event also focused heavily on the driving force of the company: the students and helping them to improve and change their lives. Employees returned to work feeling inspired and ready to do just that. The event provided the company with an opportunity to invest in their employees, reward them, and make them feel

The experience of the APEC Youth Science festival was incredible. It has had an enormous impact on me in many ways, changing the way I look at the world and connecting me with people and events far beyond my formerly limited experience. I am extremely glad to have had this opportunity. It was a wonderful experience on multiple levels. It challenged me and expanded me intellectually and socially. I feel that this experience has had an immense impact on me.
I met with Mrs. Dost on 4-6-18 and discussed Obaid’s ongoing progress in school. I reviewed the Individual Development Plan and provided status of the On-Going Assessment Tool. I shared observation notes. In order to continue helping Obaid with his transition to Kindergarten, his IDP goals will focus on learning to write and read three letter words as well as counting up to 100. I provided Mrs. Dost with a copy of the Family Conference Form. I also discussed Obaid’s transition to Kindergarten and how Mrs. Dost could continue to support him. I shared with Mrs. Dost that we are now able to discuss Kindergarten with Obaid and he no longer becomes upset or cry’s about it. This is a good step for Obaid. Mrs. Dost said she is very pleased with how
Discussion took place regarding welcoming all new mentors • Marcy played the soccer ball activity with all mentors. The purpose of playing the soccer ball game was to let the tutors to introduce themselves and get to know each other. Discussion started regarding the monthly reports • Marcy started the conversation by talking about the importance of keeping track of hours worked. Because the hours stated in the Time and Effort report need to match with hours submitted in LOUIE. • Marcy stated that tutors must give the monthly reports in hand to Marcy, Sergio or Elizabeth.
I went to McKinley Junior High on Tuesday! I didn’t really know what to expect from the school, or what it would be like because I’ve never been inside a public junior high. My school was K-8, so it was big, but it also had more grades than just 6-8th. When I got to McKinley, I was shocked at how big it actually was. I was nervous walking in because it was really big, and I was scared I wasn’t going to be able to find the office. Sure enough it took me a little while to find the office, I was very confused. Once I got into the office, I told the lady at the front test that I was from Coe and she handed me a slip of paper that said 321 and that was it. So, I wondered the halls a little bit looking for the classroom.
I was puzzled and wasn't sure what to talk about tonight. I had to prepare this speech ahead of time and turn it in for approval. I much prefer doing things spontaneously, using all the skills I have developed over the years, you know, sorta letting people (being the teachers and parents) know that we really were listening! It's much more fun interacting with other people, watching their reactions, and playing along with them. But, I had to do the right thing, So while I was contemplating my topic, it came to me - this is what I want you to take with you as we depart the Bryan Station School District and move on into life.
Several days later, a meeting of all employees was called with only a minimum of notice. As the employees filed into the makeshift auditorium, I sat in the back row and listened carefully. I knew that I'd be able to gauge the crowd's collective emotions and, thus, be more helpful to the entire group with that
I was glad and relieved that everyone had a good time. Every student that I helped did what I asked of them and they all tried to listen to the best of their ability. I tried my best to have as much fun as they were. There was not one moment that I did not see someone smiling. Everyone was always happy and never they never gave up in doing what they do best: having fun.
The human experience of living every day with my classmates was a huge opportunity to know them and understand them. It was also the opportunity for me to show my leadership skills as the coordinator of the photography team, and also by working together with a classmate in making a video about the whole pilgrimage.
I spent most of my time in a first grade classroom. In this classroom I observed the children as well as the teacher and paraprofessional. This classroom had children with special needs and that is why there was a paraprofessional in the classroom for half the day. What I observed in this classroom was how children with special need should be handle and taught. The teachers in this room loves her job and each student in her class. While in the classroom the teacher allowed me to help with children with their work, read to them and help them with anything else that they needed. During this field experience I got to give back to not only a school, but to a community that is very near and dear to my heart. I hope that I touched each student in a special way, because the students that I got the opportunity to help learn touched my
The teachers of the school were very supportive, I loved them all. Being at school is very good in terms of dealing with different people. We were exposed very early to this world; where there are different attitudes and beliefs. I think having teachers with totally different minds has a role in our social intelligence development. I learned how to deal with people even if their beliefs, thoughts and styles do not meet mine.
