Do you feel Peter’s teacher was provided with enough support to make Peter’s addition to her classroom successful? Explain.
...elementary teacher notices huge improvements with her young students. She sees how they gain confidence and language and because of her, participate and speak more in class. The upper elementary ELL teacher knows that these students require a lot of support. She feels like she really makes an impact. Her former students occasionally contact her to update her on their situation.
Homeschooling is often portrayed as an overprotective mom - unwilling to let her kids leave her for a day at school, and a large number of children, all unable to hold a conversation, let alone function normally in society. As someone who was homeschooled from kindergarten through eighth grade, I can attest that my homeschool experience was the exact opposite of this confining stereotype.
Hints: If you’re not sure how to answer a question, look at the examples given. Also, think about what the students on the tape had to say. How did they describe their strengths and needs? What accommodations did they ask for? What did they say they needed to work on in school?
The current debates surrounding the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 are both positive and negative. Many politicians and people that previously supported the Act are now standing against it. In the beginning many supported the new Act because everyone was aware that a change needed to happen in the education system and the proposal of No Child Left Behind seemed like the answer we were looking for. As the No Child Left Behind requirements began to be felt in the school systems across America and the assessments results started coming in, everyone took a step back and really began to look at the new law. The results were not what everyone expected, what was once considered an answer was now becoming the problem.
Common core is not a new method. America has set standards since at least the 1950’s and many schools have since then implemented a curriculum supporting this ideal. These standards in language arts and mathematics are supposed to help the nation prepare students for college and their future careers. The effects of common core, both positive and negative, lead to the debate on whether or not it should still be implemented in schools today, but thanks to federal funding it has made it hard to get rid of the program. It is because of this that the governor of Louisiana, Bobby Jindal has decided to sue the federal government for violating the 10th amendment. Although many can agree that having standardized goals gives both the students and staff
Introducing myself to Mrs. Smith the classroom teacher, and Mrs. Brown the teaching assistant; I explained that I will be observing the classroom. Mrs. Smith informed me that the name of the program is County Unified School District First 5 Pre K Academy, there are 12 elementary, 7 schools that have this program; a goal of the program is to have the other 5 elementary schools with the program. They are also part of a few other programs that make this program possible for the students: Color Me Healthy, CATCH, and First 5. Each of these programs have a high impact on the program, they help in their own subject of the program. This Pre k program is offered to students’ age 4-5 years old, and it is based on a first come first served basis.
...a or wanted to test or try something, an opportunity was given to do so. It was decided that everyone was to participate evenly, which was done through the division of jobs, depending on that person’s experience and knowledge upon that specific field. For example, someone might have been in charge of the assembling of parts through gluing while another may have been nailing a screw. In the beginning, and even throughout the assembly of the car, it was a struggle to know exactly what order of steps were required to achieve something (for example, how to successful nail the screw into the piece of wood) but it was much easier to overcome these problems as everyone remained calm and engaged in discussions; this meant that everyone had to take responsibility for their learning by thinking more critically and suggesting ideas or methods of improvement with full honesty.

“If my future were determined just by my performance on a standardized test, I wouldn't be here. I guarantee you that.” This quote by Michelle Obama illustrates the idea that standardized testing should not have such a large influence on education in America. However, a majority of people are under the impression that standardized tests are an accurate method to measure a person's intellectual ability. I believe that standardized tests have developed into a very critical part of the American education system; that is hindering the growth of students and teachers instead of providing a tool that can accurately measure knowledge.

The time that the teacher spent with the students was very short, about 40 minute, so as soon as the students were all inside the classroom, the teacher started the lesson right away. The teacher began the class by asking the students about their spring break and wh...
I have chosen to write this essay about homeschooling. Homeschooling is one option for schooling children, along with public and private schools. Many people do not believe in homeschooling because they do not trust that parents are teaching their children correctly. They argue that parents can’t teach their children without proper training and that without it. They also worry that students will not learn to socialize or function in society and that homeschooling is just a way to hide children from the real world. A lot of people fear homeschooling because they do not know very much about that form of education. On the other hand many peoples opinion is that homeschooling has many benefits and that it gives
In this assignment, I worked with students that had been removed from their regular school setting due to discipline issues. The assigned to my caseload were students with disabilities and the school was required by law to provide education opportunities in the least restrict environment possible. Each student would come to an off-site location and receive one on one instruction for two hours per day.
At the end of the day or beginning of the school day, I communicated what I did with Ms. P to plan out better activities or lesson plans to meet each individual’s needs.
