Next I would try to motivate him towards accomplishing his goals. Then I would ask him to fill out some forms regarding his medical history and present medical conditions, how his training progress has been before and so on. I would then go through his forms to see if he has or had any medical condition in the past or not. If there is any, I would speak to his doctor to learn about Chad’s condition before designing his workout program. Then I would do measurements such as body fat, bodyweight, waist circumference and calculate his Body Mass Index, Basal Metabolic Rate, his target heart rate range and keep a track of them in the workout journal. Then I would design the workout program as per his goals keeping in mind is past or present medical condition. After that I would take his blood pressure to see whether it is optimal, normal, high normal or in hypertension stages. ASSESSMENT TESTS Postural Assessment Many of us have some kind of postural deviation which can affect our performance as a result of which our bodies would not work at maximum efficiency. A faulty posture can also lead to back problems. Such faulty
For this project, the certified athletic trainer who I have shadowed for almost eight hours in just one day is Candace O'Bryan, currently the athletic trainer at Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron. Candace has worked at Hoban now entering her third year at the high school. She works alone as a trainer there but works along side one team doctor who is at every game, and the other one being a neurosurgeon but is just a parent helping out.
...so discuss making a exercise plan that will work for the patient, and will not cause him/her any pain. If all of the correct measures are taken, and the patient is taking care of themselves, they can prevent more serious complications from occurring. They must know that they are serious complications from one not taking care of themselves, or living a unhealthy life style. It does involve a lifelong commitment to change. Medication will help, but one must also be willing to change.
As fitness professionals working with individuals with diabetes there are numerous considerations we must contemplate. For one thing we need to realize we are part of a team approach for these individuals. We need to be very cognizant that we operate within our own scope of practice, as diabetes is a disease that requires specialized approaches from physicians, dietetic experts and fitness professional for each individual’s situation. In addition to this we need to make sure before accepting the responsibility of training a diabetic client, that we have the proper diabetes education and proper certifications. The diagnosis of Diabetes is one that can shake the client to their core and stir every feeling and emotion the person could possibly experience and possibly completely overwhelm the individual. It’s vitally important that they learn to re-establish a sense of control and literally learn new survival skills. (Zrebiec) No matter if it is a parent of a child who has been recently been diagnosed or an adult who just heard the news regarding their own health, the initial situation is the same. To these people it’s going to be like taking a post-graduate course in diabetes management (Zrebiec) and exercise is going to become big part of it. However, this need for an appropriate exercise plan will bring about its own set of challenges due to the complicated nature of the disease. As individuals with diabetes they face some of the same challenges other parties face when exercise is something they know they need to do. They too face challenges of lack of time, lack of energy or will power, they may feel they lack the skills or even the resources. However, when it comes to a teen becoming more involved in exercise there may be two o...
Since Clark is a football player, I will discuss everything with him such as: learning to be discipline, how to control the body when it is in motion and needs to quickly
The good news is poor posture can be easily corrected, which will redirect the forces applied to the intervertebral disc. The bad news is a lot of people have poor posture.
Being a healthy person, the torment an individual may be unveiling to as a result of poor health is pacified. A series of pre-intervention tests were administered to determine the client’s capabilities and have an objective rating that can be compared with results and the completion of the program. 3 separate push-up tests (Hands on bench, on knees on floor and on toes on floor) were included to replicate the paramedic physical exam as well as a sit-up test (hands to knees). Each of the tests had a 30 second duration.
I rated my posture this way because I have a tendency to strain my neck while using my laptop. I don’t adjust my laptop to the level of my eyesight. This causes me to bend down to look at what I am typing. Aside from that issue, I often sit in one position for many hours at a time. This causes me to become stiff and my lower back is often in pain by then end of my laptop use.
Put together a plan of action to progress the person demonstrating the unskilled movement so that it becomes a skilled movement. This may involve movement cueing, additional resistance training, technique coaching, mobility work, or anything else you deem necessary to address your patient/client’s insufficiencies. Provide a 1-2 page written description of your plan, plus a 3-5 minute YouTube video of yourself coaching someone (friend or relative) through the necessary steps for improvement. You may want to review chest analysis video in week 5’s lab https://youtu.be/kDCIXNb4m3k as an example. In the video, provide an example of how the patient/client previously moved, what you did to address the insufficiencies you noted in CAP 6, and a
Many individuals do not understand the importance of having flexibility of the spine until they experience back pain. This issue with the spinal column can lead to greater health problems, such as trigger points that can result in hindering your quality of life.
If your spinal column isn’t properly aligned, your muscles can become imbalanced eventually. Muscles in one area of your body can become loose and weak, while muscles in another area are much too tight. When this occurs, you’re more likely to develop an injury. Anything you do that stresses your muscles, such as playing sports, can cause an imbalance.
On any single day, a person will exert magnitudes of force and pressure on all bodily joints, as well as muscles connected to those joints, by everyday activities such as walking, sitting, running, or jumping. Chiropractic care, done by a professional, is a healthy and necessary way to release the tensions and stress caused by misuse of the body. For example, poor posture causes improper alignment of the vertebral column; in order to correct the problem, a chiropractic adjustment may be needed. Chiropractic manipulations are specifically directed towards relieving tensions and preventing soreness from reoccurring. The primary goal of a chiropractic adjustment is to return the joint back to its original position, as it may have
There are different ways to determine your body composition and the risks that they involve. In this lab, body measurements are taken to find the body percent fat, waist-to-hip ratio, body mass index (BMI), and basal metabolic rate (BMR). Skin folds for the chest, abdomen, and thigh were taken for males, and triceps, iliac crest, and thigh for females. Age, height, and weight for each person were recorded as well as the waist and hip circumference.
