No More Pain
On any single day, a person will exert magnitudes of force and pressure on all bodily joints, as well as muscles connected to those joints, by everyday activities such as walking, sitting, running, or jumping. Chiropractic care, done by a professional, is a healthy and necessary way to release the tensions and stress caused by misuse of the body. For example, poor posture causes improper alignment of the vertebral column; in order to correct the problem, a chiropractic adjustment may be needed. Chiropractic manipulations are specifically directed towards relieving tensions and preventing soreness from reoccurring. The primary goal of a chiropractic adjustment is to return the joint back to its original position, as it may have

He had knowledge of the nervous system, prior to his theory, in that the nervous system was undeviatingly connected to the musculoskeletal system, which could cause tensions on the muscles and bones. Palmer demonstrated his theory by restoring the hearing of a janitor by adjusting a vertebrae closely related to the auditory nerve. After having success, Daniel Palmer founded Palmers College of Chiropractic 1897, located in Davenport, Iowa. He then started teaching his students different types of treatment. Today, Palmers College of Chiropractic has now branched into two other locations, San Jose, California and Port Orange, Florida, where, these institutes teach all methods of chiropractic treatment.
These treatment methods vary depending on the location on the body and cause of the issue. In most cases, chiropractic treatment is a more simple, more efficient way to remedy an injury, rather than costly physical therapy or the work of a general practitioner. Length of treatment and recurrence of the treatment varies depending on the designated injury, however Hoving et al from Annals Of Internal Medicine released this study in
Graston instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (GITSM) is a tool used by therapist and chiropractors to help break up the scar tissue and replace it with fibroblast allowing for faster recoveries (Black 2010). A series of heat, GISTM, then strength and flexibility training are required (Black 2010). Numerous studies have been conducted, by certified therapist qualified in GISTM, to examine the styles and recovery periods after an injury. After going through the treatment, patients are measured by their range of motion (ROM) to see if the treatments were effective or not (Black 2010). ROM can vary depending on the region of the body that is being treated, but the overall goal of GISTM is to allow a person to get back to their regular routines they had before their injury. A study conducted by Logan College of Chiropractic shows that plantar fasciitis (foot) can be treated by GISTM on the first day of treatment (Daniels and Morrell 2012). Another study by Duke University shows that GISTM can be effective for patients after surgery that had an injury in the Patellar tendon (knee) (Black 2010). After several treatments, GISTM can, also, be used to treat a compression fracture in the lumbar (back) (Papa 2012). Each study shows the method of GISTM, the patient’s recovery period along with the methods of recovery.
They also lower people's blood pressure which helps saves their life. Chiropractors don’t need medication or any kind of surgery to make their patients feel relieved of pain. Chiropractic care is popular all over the world. Although the chiropractic profession was founded in the United States in 1895, spinal manipulation has a long history of use in China. The first time chiropractic care was used in the United States, it brought back a guy’s hearing back in 1895 by Daniel David Palmer. Just remember the next time a person pulls or throws out a muscle tell them to go see their closest chiropractor, they will make them feel like a new
Kinesiology can be defined as the study of mechanics of body movements, so I think that is very important to know the meaning of movement when studying kinesiology. Everything in kinesiology has to do with the movement. Every action the body takes is a movement which is what kinesiology is. You cannot be successful in the field of kinesiology no matter what you are doing if you do not understand what movement is. It is the study of human movement, performance, and function by applying the sciences of biomechanics, anatomy, physiology, and neuroscience. It looks at movement and which muscles are involved to create movement relating to strength exercising and sports technique. Movement is an act of changing physical location or position or of
Recent trends have pointed the continuing promise and growth of massage therapy as a health care career. Applied kinesiology is the scientific study of muscular movement, physical activities and the anatomy, physiology, and mechanics of the movement of body parts. Kinesiology was first created by the American/Italian chiropractor Anthony Gil in Milano, Italy. This relatively new study has many different branches of specialized studies. Many similar goals of kinesiology are to: restore normal nerve functions, have... ...

The word “chiropractor” has two word origins, the Greek words cheir and praxis; meanwhile, cheir means “hand” and praxis means “practice.” Also, most of the work that chiropractors do is done by hand (Pike para. 5). In 2002, going to a chiropractor was found to be the most commonly used program for therapy. Seventy-four percent, about 4 million, of people that had back pain went to a chiropractor to get treated. Among that 74 percent of people, 66 percent of them stated that they got “a great benefit” (Pike para. 9). Many chiropractors work full time but 1 out of 3 chiropractors work part time. Chiropractors work whenever their patients need them, even on w...
Kinesiology is a complimentary therapy used to identify and correct internal issues to relieve stress, allergies, and pain. Being described as a complimentary therapy, kinesiology is not meant to be a cure-all for the patient, but a secondary method of increasing positive results of the original therapy; this method however can be used as a primary or secondary form of therapy depending on the results for the patient and satisfaction with said results. During treatment the doctor tests 14 different areas of muscles balance, these major muscles and how they react are believed to uncover problems that need correction which cannot be found with any other testing (Rude Health).
Chiropractic Care – Chiropractic care can be used to correct problematic wrist and hand injuries, including carpal tunnel. This treatment involves correcting misalignments of the upper spine to help reduce inflammation and relieve pain.
This paper explores some of the manual therapy methods, and the effects on which different parts of the human body. While the paper focus more on the positive effects of the different styles of manual therapy, the paper also explores any available reports on any risk of adverse events involving with manual therapies. Carnes, Mars, Mullinger, Froud, and Underwood (2010) suggest taking drug therapy causes a greater risk than with manual therapy. According to A. Bokarius and V. Bokarius (2010), “manual therapy is a widely used method for managing such conditions, but to date, its efficacy has not been established (p. 451). The purpose of this paper is to define what manual therapy is and offers some examples of manual therapy techniques
Physical therapy has been around since 460 BC (History of Physical Therapy). Yet, many people do not actually know what physical therapy is and how it benefits people with various injuries and surgeries. Many physical therapists personalize in different therapeutic practices including orthopedic, post-operative care, cardiovascular, neurologic, rehabilitation, or pulmonary rehab to specialize in the various needs of people. Physical therapy is more beneficial than chiropractors because it improves your mobility, prevents injuries, avoid surgery or recover more quickly from surgery, and the healing process is more natural and can help reduce pain.
Chronic lower back pain is a major health disorder in the world today (Mendelson, Selwood, Kranz, Loh, Kidson, Scott, 1983). It can cause many physical, mental, and emotional problems on the victim (Mendelson, Selwood, Kranz, Loh, Kidson, Scott, 1983). Many people find their work so unbearably painful that they often have to stay home. Others experience depression, inactivity, and social isolation (Kaplan, Sallis, Patterson). Treatments range from the conventional methods such as medication and surgery to the alternative or unconventional methods such as acupuncture. However, only a small percentage of low back pain patients have the type of condition for which surgery can be used so acupuncture is becoming more popular (Lehmann, Russell, Spratt, 1983).
Posture Correction – Poor posture is a major issue involved in back pain. Poor posture is also unattractive and unhealthy to the body. Good posture helps the body maintain balance and stay aligned. Inversion therapy helps to realign your spine so you can enjoy the health benefits of good
I have a strong feeling that it does help your body recover and heal faster. I find it especially helpful to go to one when participating in physical contact sports. I, from personal experience believe in them because my hip would always come out of place and in order to play at a high level it would help me by not having any injuries that would hinder my play. I also can’t imagine what I would feel like right now if I didn’t go to one because my body would have taken a longer time to recover. My reason for writing about this is because I know it helped me personally recover faster, and I care enough that I want to share this information with you on why I find chiropractic health care to have more benefits then
...ravity passes anterior to the spinal column (figure 5). As a result, the spine is under a constant, forward bending moment. As the trunk is progressively flexed, the line of gravity shifts farther away from the spine. The farther the line of gravity from the spine, the larger the moment arm for body weight and the greater the bending moment generated. To maintain body position, this moment must be counteracted by tension in the back muscle. To minimize the tension, lifting with the trunk being erect is required. A misaligned spine (faulty posture) causes stress to be redistributed throughout the body, so joints that were not intended to bear a significant amount of stress are now required to so do to compensate for poor posture. When joints bear stress beyond their capacity, the result is temporary or long term pain as well as degradation of the supportive tissue.
According to Massage Today “Massage therapy is recognized as one of the oldest methods of healing, with references in medical texts nearly 4,000 years old”. I feel that the benefit of rubbing aching muscles and hurt limbs comes to us as naturally as breathing air. Among its many purposes and advantages, massage soothes achy muscles, helps heal injuries, strengthens baby’s muscles and relieves stress. To me, massage is not only a way to soothe the muscles and relieve the everyday stresses of society, massage is a way to connect with others through the common practice of touch. We have needed touch in our lives since the first seconds after our birth, so it’s not surprising that we would seek out touch in the form of massage.
