Living in the world that consists of three thousand different types of mosquitoes is frightening. People got used to a daily routine of waking up and getting to their jobs, that many of them are so focused on their career and family that they do not even notice and pay much attention when they are getting bitten by mosquitoes. Unfortunately not many people were aware of the fact that not all insects are safe, many of mosquitoes transfer infections, but we were not concentrating on that since it was considered not a common issue. As a repercussion, people did not begin to react and notice that something wrong with them when Aedes mosquitoes began their attempt on ruining people’s social, physical and psychological lives by transferring a Zika virus to the once who are bitten. …show more content…
Nonetheless there is nothing we can do yet to cure this virus because there is no vaccine, furthermore there are no signs of vaccine being made at all. In order to fight the Zika virus one of the most important operations is to provide a certain amount of funds to laboratories. The only source of money that could be possible to use, is the budget that the government of the United States would contribute to laboratories, scientists, tests, expeditions and researches. However it comes as no surprise that the government, especially Republican Congress is in disfavor to spend more money on these investigations. It has long been known that the Republican Party doesn’t like spending money on public needs and involvement of the government. According to the article “Health Officials Urge Congress to Fund Zika Research” by Donald G. McNeil it says: “President Obama has asked for $1.8
In the article “When Mosquitoes Were Killers in America” by Lauren Tarshis, She makes the statement “Yet mosquitoes are far more than a nuisance.” What she means is that mosquitoes aren't a little bug that just sucks a little blood and can be annoying, but instead it uses all that and more. Mosquitoes have killed millions upon millions of people by spreading disease like malaria. An example of how she supports this claim is in the article, she says “ In this way, bite by itchy bite, 212 million people are infected with malaria every year” (Tarshis 13). And that is only a year with bug spray, shots, and all the other things that help stop mosquitoes. So when the U.S. government tried to save people from these murders little insects. So they
Now, Im going to focus on voting and Zika. First, Fair Vote, a company that leads the fight for electoral reform in the U.S., points out: "The right to vote is the foundation of any (system or country where leaders are chosen by votes). Yet most Americans do not (understand/make real/achieve) that we do not have an (in a way that agrees with or is related to the Constitution) protected right to vote. While there are changes to the U.S. Constitution that prohibit (unfair treatment based on skin color, age, etc.) based on race (15th), sex (19th) and age (26th), no
From the article “6 Ways to Avoid Getting Bitten by a Zika Virus Mosquito, by Kelsey Kloss” it indicates there are precisely six steps. The first step is the consumer must buy a specific kind of mosquito repellent. “The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends products with active ingredients DEET, oil of lemon eucalyptus, picaridin, or IR 3535.” (Kloss, Kelsey 1). The second step is to apply the repellent on the surface of your body properly. The third step is to not wear revealing clothing; therefore, it will be more difficult for the mosquitoes to bite you since your skin isn’t exposed. The fourth step is to “prep your home” meaning mosquitoes tend to die in chilly environments for perhaps it’s in our best interest to keep our homes at a reasonable but frosty temperature. Mosquitoes also like areas that have shade and damp areas, for this reason, is that mosquitoes tend to breed in certain habitats with those characteristics, like swamps, jungles, and other humid areas. The fifth step is to exercise indoors, thus you’re not vulnerable. And the final step is to travel intelligently, obviously not traveling to infected

The thing about zika is that we can find a solution. A solution for zika is that scientist can do is find a solution that can kill zika. Once they find a vaccine that could prevent moms from their babies from being infected by zika. So if they find a vaccine that can kill zika then if zika stings they will die and over the time the zika virus will decrease. Although scientist say that there is no vaccine to prevent zika but I believe that if scientist actually put their minds to it they could find a cure to kill zika and prevent zika from spreading. But for now what we can do to prevent getting zika you can not leave water out for example don't leave water in a fountain or leave water in birdbaths, and when you're outside what you should use bug repellent and wear long sleeve shirts and
Obama has asked congress for a sum of 1.8 billion dollars in order to fund and help battle the Zika virus which has been spreading throughout Latin America from mosquitos. This virus has shown that it may affect the birth of babies and them being birth to abnormally small body parts. There was a similar case a year or two ago of when ebola came along, but Zika is not as serious and life threatening. People may have Zika and not know it, but it has mainly been a threat to women, pregnant women, and women who intend to become pregnant. There is also a fear of this virus being brought to the United States from the down south continent. Obama asks that from the 1.8 billion dollars from congress, that 828 million goes the centers for disease

Not only is the knowledge helpful to contain the Zika virus but it has also helped other viruses contained throughout the centuries without having that many deaths due to it. The knowledge gained has helped for a long time and will continue to help out throughout the more challenging problems that the world will have to face. A controversy became an issue to those who don’t agree, me. Furthermore, people can’t forget the fact that some vaccines are more harmful than beneficial and that most parents don’t know what is being inject into their children.
