The book I read from tumblebooks was Yuki vs Panda. This book was read on Monday April 21,2018. I enjoyed this book. It was about a girl named Yuki in her senior year of highschool and was going through drama and trying to leave high school with a legacy while defeating her enemy the panda that was trying to kill her. At the beginning of the story Yuki and the panda became enemies through a conflict at the zoo while the panda whacked her ice cream cone out her hand and then Yuki got mad and bit his ear off and gave him a three line scratch on his shoulder. That is how the two became enemies. After nine years Yuki is in high school and is training for a sport in high school while also going through drama in school. She is also is supported
The Truman book I chose to read for the first quarter is All Fall Down by Ally Carter. I enjoyed reading this book because the plot was very interesting and I liked seeing how the events would turn out. All Fall Down is about a girl named Grace Blakely who has grown up in Adria, a European nation. She finds out her mom has died. Grace remembers an old man with a scar who was at the sight of where her mom died when it happened. Grace thinks he is the killer. She calls the man the Scarred man. Grace meets some people on the way including Megan and Noah who help her with her search to find the person who killed her mom.
I am reading tides of war blood in the water by Alexander London. It's about a navy seal who is a dolphin trainer. The book started with him and his brother are surfing and his brother got palled under by a shark and Cory the older brother help him get top. So far the book is really good.
In conclusion, I would highly recommend this book to early teens who are fans of drama and comedy because they could probably relate to most of the issues discussed to a certain extent. Girls my age, especially, would enjoy this book as they could relate to the issues discussed and they have probably already experienced similar
The main character of this book is Susan Caraway, but everyone knows her as Stargirl. Stargirl is about 16 years old. She is in 10th grade. Her hair is the color of sand and falls to her shoulders. A “sprinkle” of freckles crosses her nose. Mostly, she looked like a hundred other girls in school, except for two things. She didn’t wear makeup and her eyes were bigger than anyone else’s in the school. Also, she wore outrageous clothes. Normal for her was a long floor-brushing pioneer dress or skirt. Stargirl is definitely different. She’s a fun loving, free-spirited girl who no one had ever met before. She was the friendliest person in school. She loves all people, even people who don’t play for her school’s team. She doesn’t care what others think about her clothes or how she acts. The lesson that Stargirl learned was that you can’t change who you are. If you change for someone else, you will only make yourself miserable. She also learned that the people who really care about you will like you for who you are. The people who truly love you won’t ask you to change who you are.
I really liked this book. The series of the Tiger's Curse novels are the only romance
Mr. Gene Luen Yang books are great story tellers, teaching people with great emotion. His books have helped break the stereotype of comic reading being just for kids. I love his book “American Born Chinese”, it is a great book and I will recommend it. I like his creative way of philosophy. I plan on reading more comic novels! His work has actually opened my mind to graphic comic novels and what they have to

But later on in the book you learn that there is a

The book I chose to read was Reckless by Cornelia Funke. The book’s genre is fantasy. When I first began reading this book I really did not enjoy it or understand it, but it soon started to get interesting. The characters became interesting and the plot started to grab my attention. Soon I had to finish reading it, but the end was really disappointing.
There are so many books that I could recommend for my students to read; however, for today, I am going to choose Inkheart, by Cornelia Funke. Inkheart follows a young girl, Meggie, who has inherited a unique power from her father; Meggie has the power to bring words to life. This novel contains abstract ideas, such as travel between dimensions, talking animals, and mythical creatures; but, these topics aren’t entirely unfamiliar to most of the 21st century. The book deals with loss, family, loyalty, love and more. This novel has a good amount of familiar vocabulary but also a good amount of new vocabulary. Though Meggie lives in the 21st century, she travels to a time period when a different style of speaking was used, so students will be
