The book Tiger's Curse is about a girl named Kelsey Hayes. She goes to a circus to find a part time job for two weeks. When she gets there, she meets the tiger named Ren. She says the "secret words", and it gives him the ability to change to a man. Without her knowledge of knowing of course. So then, a man named Mr. Kadam goes to the circus, and he "buys" Ren. They send him, Kelsey, and Mr. Kadam back to the men's home in India. They send Kelsey in a taxi, and when they stop for her to eat food, she gets "stranded" by the taxi driver. She sees two men arguing by the truck, and then when she turns to pay her bill, they're gone. She finds Ren out in his cage, and she let's him out. He leads her through the jungle to a hut that belongs …show more content…
to Phet, a monk. He gives Kelsey a tattoo, and instructs her to finish the tigers from the curse. Along the way, Kelsey meets Kishan, Ren's brother. She encourages Kishan to help them with the quest. Ren and Kelsey fall for each other, Kishan ends up falling for Kelsey too. The four (Mr. Madam included) traveled all through India to a temple of the Goddess Durga. She tell them that they need to find a gift for her, and in return she would help them with the journey. So Kelsey and Ren traveled to Shangri La. (This is all before Kishan joins them). Ren and Kelsey get into a huge fight while they're in Shangri-La. It causes a ton of trouble for the two, and Ren tries to get Kelsey to admit she has feelings for him. Along the way, they find an area based around different types of monkeys (chimpanzees, apes, regular monkeys), and Kelsey and Ren made their way in. They have to find the gift for Durga, and soon they find a tree. Ren helps Kelsey climb to the top, and she finds a golden fruit. The fruit is a mango, which is the native fruit of India. When she pulls it off the stem, she has a vision. In the vision, her, mr. Kadam, and an evil man are arguing. The man is threatening the brothers, and Mr. Kadam is trying to protect them. On the way out of the city, these creatures called the Kappa try to attack Ren and Kelsey. While Ren is fighting them off, Kelsey runs ahead, but one of the Kappa follow her.
She gets bit and then gets poisoned. But Durga's pet snake, Fanindra, bites Kelsey and heals her. Soon, they get home to Ren's house, and Kelsey decides to leave Ren and go back to Oregon. I really liked this book. The series of the Tiger's Curse novels are the only romance novels I'll willingly read. I mostly enjoy Kishan's character. He is kind of a rebel, and he likes to do things his way (Remind you of anyone?). I don't think there. Is anything I didn't like except for a few scenes. I honestly can't remember them. That's how unimportant they are. I especially like the details that the author gave the brothers. She made their differences and similarities obvious and they stuck out. I really loved the cover. It's quite interesting how the illustrator drew the tiger, and added the little details on the corners. All in all, it was a really good read. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes romance novels. The details and just the story in general are fantastic. I really think mostly women would enjoy this. The story lines very interesting. I don't think anyone in our English class would be able to come up
with this type of story. The story definitely has twists and turns that just keep your attention grasped.
The novel that I am reading is called Orbiting Jupiter. The two characters that i am going to compare are from the same novel. Jack and Joseph are the characters I am going to compare. I am going to tell you about there life and how they became who they are. And I am also going to be comparing Jack and Joseph. Both characters are very different from each other because of the actions that Joseph likes to do.
The author Thomas S. Spadley is Lynn’s father. He is the one that was with them all the time and saw all that his wife Louise tried for their daughter to understand them. The greatest qualification for him to write this book is that he is Lynn’s father. A father’s perspective is great throughout this book, as the reader I can see the intensity of what the family is going through. Since he is a math professor, and does not have a lot of knowledge in English and time, through the whole book he skips around with what they did and when. Later, on in the book that James P. Spradely, Lynn’s uncle also got involved and helped write the book.
When one actually close-reads a small segment one realizes the large amount of information that can be said about just that segment. In this case it was only four pages from Fun Home, and each page seemed to have a life of its own. Page 14 touched upon the relationship between Bruce Bechdel and his family, while page fifteen gave insights into the father-daughter relationship. Then pages 16 and 17 dealt with hidden truths and the creation of false appearances. Then there were the the literary and graphical devices: the extensive use of line, the use of gray shading, stretched panels vs. compact panels, interdependent word-picture relationships, etc. the clear illustrations and relatively simple prose made the process a bit easier, but that opinion may have been different if the process involved close-reading the whole book.
She confronts him about the way he’s treated her.
In both of these stories there are certain characteristics of females that are the same, they are inner strength, obedience, honor and respect, the good of the family is better than the good of the individual.
The man with the yellow suit then goes back to Winnie Foster’s parent’s home, where he tells them he’ll help them get their daughter back if they give away the ownership of the woods to him. Winnie’s family makes the deal, and the man in the yellow suit goes back to where the Tuck family was to retrieve
Along with each character’s similar attributes, the relationships they both have with their husbands are comparable. Zeena Frome and Elizabeth proctor share many characteristics and relationships through each story, showing how similar each works of literature are alike. Over the two stories previously mentioned there are many similarities and are strongly comparable through each character, which can be found looking at various pieces of

I would most definitely recommend this novel to those who like adventure. This novel is non-stop adventure filled novel staring a young boy against Mother Nature herself.
...re many similarities when it comes to technique, characterization, themes, and ideologies based on the author's own beliefs and life experiences. However, we also see that it appears the author herself often struggles with the issue of being herself and expressing her own individuality, or obeying the rules, regulations and mores of a society into which she was born an innocent child, one who by nature of her sex was deemed inferior to men who controlled the definition of the norms. We see this kind of environment as repressive and responsible for abnormal psyches in the plots of many of her works.
The style of the book is what made it so special. It was VERY easy to understand, and at the same time it was exciting. Some readers may think a tragic, but yet romantic novel is hard to understand, but what they don’t know is that all books are easy to read. You are just stopping yourself too soon to learn it. This book had no problems with being beautifully written and understandable.
