The novel that I am reading is called Orbiting Jupiter. The two characters that i am going to compare are from the same novel. Jack and Joseph are the characters I am going to compare. I am going to tell you about there life and how they became who they are. And I am also going to be comparing Jack and Joseph. Both characters are very different from each other because of the actions that Joseph likes to do. Joseph is 13 years old and he had a girlfriend. He walked miles just to see Madeline his girlfriend. One day Madeline's parent weren’t home and neither was the housekeeper. So Joseph decide to go over Madeline’s. Jack grow up at a farm that had a lot of cow’s. Everyday he had to milk the cows. He was more of the calm and nice type he really didn’t like talking to that many people at school . He always got good grades until Joseph came into his life. When Joseph came he would get in trouble in school sometimes. One of Jack's teachers told him that he needs to stop hanging out with Joseph. Jack’s response was no because he is my brother. A couple of weeks after that Joseph got into a fight with an 8th grader but Jack is in 6th grade. Jack decided to stick up for his brother and jump in and the both beat the 8th grader up. After that they go called to the principal office and she was very disappointed. Both of them ended up getting suspended and there parents were very disappointed. After those actions that took place Jack decided to be back to his old self.
Jack and Joseph don’t have that many similarities considering that Joseph is 13 and has a kid. But there are some similarities and differences. One difference that they have is that Joseph had a baby at a very young age and Jack hasn’t even thought about it. Another difference is that Joseph was incarcerated when he was just 12 years
When Deborah was only sixteen she became pregnant with her first child by Cheetah and boy she liked when she was younger. Cheetah and Deborah got married and then had their second child. Deborah became very unhappy in the marriage because Cheetah started drinking and doing drugs. He started abusing Deborah. Cheetah pushed Deborah so much she almost killed him if it wasn’t for Bobbette. Deborah’s brothers Sonny and Lawrence were doing well except for Joe. Joe was another case. Joe went to the military, and the family was hoping that would do him good; but he came out worse than when he went in. Joe was threatened and beaten up by a boy named Ivy. Joe was in so much rage he went and stabbed him and killed him. Joe eventually turned himself in to the law, was convicted of second degree murder and sentenced fifteen years in prison.

The story begins when Brian, a thirteen-year-old boy, is traveling on an airplane. Brian is from the city, and is traveling to Canada to visit his Father. The setting is in the Canadian wilderness and is most important because Brian’s adventure would have been impossible in a city. Brian was very upset about his parents separation, but was excited to be visiting his father. However “The Secret,” as Brian refers to it, is always in the back of his mind. Brian has seen his mother with another man. He wants desperately to tell his father, but knows his father would be crushed. I think that this situation is something that could happen in real life. Brian is totally distraught. If I were in his place, I would be also. But instead of worrying about telling my father, I think I would be worrying about confronting my mother with the situation. I would feel I needed to stop the affair before my father did find out.
Could it be possible that two people, living so close as if they were brothers, to have tremendous differences as large as their similarities? It happens to two fictional characters from S.E. Hinton’s novel, The Outsiders. In the story there are significant differences and similarities between Johnny Cade and Dallas Winston. Some ways one may compare Johnny and Dally are they both have abusive parents who do not provide their children with the proper care or attention. Also, Cade and Winston place minimal values on their lives. A difference between the two characters is how Johnny obeys the laws, while Dallas deliberately breaks them. Another difference is Johnny and Dallas give Ponyboy Curtis different advice about how he should be and act. The book The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, has a storyline which includes many ways how Johnny Cade and Dallas Winston are dissimilar and alike.
Throughout this novel, Jack does whatever his friends do. When he was living in Seattle with his mother, he was influenced by his new friends to do bad things. His friends, Silver and Terry were kids with no one to discipline them. They befriended Jack and together they caused lots of trouble, “We broke street lights. We opened the doors of parked cars on hills and released the emergency brakes so the smashed into the cars below…. And we stole”(61). In conclusion, there are many connections to be made between the life of Joseph and Jesus. They both encountered much adversity which then in turn resulted in the redemption of many. The difference is Joseph was able to help some and Jesus was salvation for
Joseph, son of Jacob, was surely destined for great things. Though his life consisted of many hardships, and ups and downs, he always got past them and lived a good life in the vision of God. His dreams took him very far, as he ended up with all of Egypt looking to him for help. Though he was a dreamer, he was also a very wise person, and this is what led him to great things.
The comparison and contrast between these two stories is evident. They both developed as characters in similar settings but have different situations and outcomes. They differed in their goals and how they would achieve their goals and their mental health status sets them apart. These stories have contrast and similarities, over all the differences outweigh the comparisons.
Overall, the characters of Don John and Iago are very similar, although the latter is much more intelligent and complex. These two men are what draw the reader’s attention to the novel, and share so much in common that the two seemingly unrelated works are read in tandem constantly.
From the early pages of the novel, when Jack and his mother are making their way from Florida to Utah, Jack Wolff captures the hearts of readers and offers connections to the many who are able to relate to him. Jack is young and troubled; he often feels as if many of the problems in his life are his fault.
