For example, they teach kids leadership skills which are always a good skill to have especially when they are older and have a job. This shows that youth sports teach kids how to communicate with others which is a big part of being a leader. This is shown again in Source 2 when it says, “By participating on a team, a player learns to develop strategies and work with his teammates to enable their victory”(Duggan Para. 4).
The physiological benefits include the building of strength in muscles and joints as well as maintaining a healthy immune system to last throughout adulthood. Best of all, the glorious memories that are to be made will be constantly reflected on for the rest of an individual's life. Young individuals should retain sports into their lives in order to build the best part of oneself with the prospering factors gained through athleticism.

I feel sports are very positive for our youth in this day and age because they allow our youth to express there feelings. A teenager and child is known for there actions. Cox stated, “The supportive relationships of coaches and teammates, plus encouragement from parents, can all positively affect children’s self-esteem”(COX, 2015). This shows that when coaches and teammates encourage children to do their best at a sport their self-esteem will get better and accomplish things in life/school. That is when children bring their self-esteem to school it helps them interact more in school and to participate more in class. Gavin also states that sports can help you value things such as teamwork overcoming challenges, being happy with the accomplishments you do, and controlling emotions (Gavin, 2018).
At some point students has had trouble either at home or at school and need to release stress or tension. Some of these times the teens choose to do activities that are wrong. Youth want to feel comfort and accepted, therefore they sometimes will do events that are not well for their body just to fit in with a group. There is evidence that proves sports can reduce the likeliness of teens committing crimes, or getting into trouble. Tees look at the negative substances such as drugs, alcohol, or tobacco, and think that they can do whatever they want. Many teens look at these activities and think they are “exciting” or “cool” and want to try them, but if they are busy with sports they most likely will not be as easily influenced. Participation in sports helps keep teens out of trouble by taking up their free time which could be used for mischief, gives them an opportunity to meet new friends for positive role models, provides teens an outlet to develop a higher self-esteem, and also enables student to set goals for on and off the field.

Even though I did not truly understand all the mechanics of the game, I met new friends and began to develop motor skills. This was very useful starting at an early age and pushed me to stay active throughout my life.
