In the united states many children and teenagers are involved with sports. such as Football,Basketbal,Baseball, even Soccer. Sports today are very competitive and healthy. Sports bring out the growth within a child or teenager that us as parents can not pull out of them.
I feel sports are very positive for our youth in this day and age because they allow our youth to express there feelings. A teenager and child is known for there actions. Once they are engaged in a active activity such as Basketball, Which allows a child to run up and down a court. They began to understand what it feels like to exercise strength within their bodies.
Did you know that a active sports player becomes more likely to succed in life? That is because once they
experience what it feels like to compete they will always challenaged thier self to do great. A child will always strive to be better then he once was before he played a sport. Today sports even help mature a teenagers mind, A teenage knows that it is his responsability to keep up with his equitment.Which builds his skills on responsibity because once you forget your equitment you can not particpant that day rather its a game or practice. The most importmant reason is health sports give youth technics on taking care of their selfs. During daily exercises a child learns how to breath for a longer period of time. Once you go on a field or ball court your breathing is what makes you keep up with others. Health builds your charater physically and emotionally, Which makes a successful and star player. I think Sports is a good habbit every child and teenager should experience. There isnt nothing like expressing your self with out words, Just your "A" game see you on the court.
Athletes in times of difficulty can be important role models.” This shows that sports are in fact helpful because they can grow children into being important role models for the rest of society. Studies have shown time and time again that playing sports can be beneficial to children and we also believe this to be true. Many people still think that sports cause “too many injuries”, or coaches “are not fair enough”, but adolescents will experience these things all throughout their lives because injury can happen anywhere and they will not always be the best at what they are doing. Sports are beneficial to the youth because they can teach children and teens important life skills, help them maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle, all while improving their mental health.
Playing competitive sports affect young people in a good way. They are good because you have that commitment and now its hard to back down. In the "no" section of 'Have Youth Sports Become Too Intense?", it states "Intense training promotes self-confidence, self-discipline, and commitment." Student athletes can agree with all of this because it teaches discipline and a lot of other things. Parents can disagree with my reason, because they don't want their child to go through with intense training. They think it's way too much for the child.
Youth sports can be a learning experience or it can be a health risk to the athletes. Youth sports can teach young children the value of hard work and discipline or it can be emotionally and physically damaging. Three main points are how sports keep you healthy, how they build character, and the values that they will learn from sports and how they will use in the future. These three ideas prove that youth sports can be healthy, they build character, and can teach them the value of hard work and discipline for your kid.
Participating in a sport at an early age can be essential to the overall growth process during a child’s upbringing. Whether the participation is through some sort of organized league or just getting together amongst friends and playing, the lessons learned from this can help teach these kids and provide a positive message to them as they develop. There is a certain point, however, when organized sports can hinder progress, which is when adults get too involved and forget about the underlying reason to why they are helping. While adult involvement is necessary, adult involvement can sometimes send the wrong message to children when they try to make participation become more than just about fun and learning. According to Coakley (2009), “organized sports are worth the effort put forth by adults, as long as they do what is in the best interest of their children and put that thought ahead of their own agenda” (Coakley, p. 151). This is a valid argument because once adults put themselves in front of the children and their values, it needs to be re-evaluated as to why they first got involved in the beginning. Partaking in organized sport and activity from a young age can be beneficial to the overall development of children, as long as decisions actions are made in the best interest of the children and not stemming from ulterior motives of adults.
Sports specialization among young people is when a child or teenager trains for and competes in only one sport. They work extremely hard year-round in order to become well-rounded in every aspect of the game. They make sacrifices and put their health in jeopardy in order to become the ultimate participant in their sport. One of the many young athletes who is only participating in and focusing on one sport is fifteen-year-old OJ Mayo from Cincinnati, Ohio. He is the young talented athlete who is predicted to be the next LeBron James in the National Basketball Association (NBA). This young athlete provides evidence of striving for perfection in this single sport when reviewing his daily schedule versus that of his siblings. He says, “The other kids go home and sleep. I come back to the gym” (Thompson, 2004). He is obviously putting forth a lot of effort in his sport to become successful at an early age.
Many would disagree with me and say that high school sports actually have more positive benefits than negative benefits for students. For example a student in sports would be more active which would make them fitter and healthier. A student that in a team sport would make more friends which would improve their social
Sports teach kids to learn many life lessons, lessons that will be important such as working in a team or working hard toward a goal. Parents are far too involved in youth sports. In our current time, kids have no independence in sports, everything is parent run, with the intentions of the parent trying to have their kids win and become elite superstars. Atkinson writes in an article that in his home town of Methuen Massachusetts he and all the other kids in his town used to organize all the sports, and parents would help cover the financial part, but the sport itself was directed by the kids, the way youth sports should be run, for the interest of the kids. Kids should determine what goes on; kids should be able to experiment with different sports in a non hostile environment in which they can fun. Having fun is most important in youth sports along with learning life lessons. Kids who enjoyed youth sports growing up were more likely to go onto play high school sports (Atkinson). Of course there are exceptions in which some kids will want to be pushed in a sport; however, it must have the child's desire to be pushed not the parents’(Hatter). Lastly, as important as sports are in society in the 21st century especially in the U.S. kids need to be able to have a life outside of sports. Kids should be able to have fun away from sports (Katen). Kids should be kids, very few kids will be going professional in sports, and it is important kids
youth sports [were] the one haven for good sportsmanship," says Darrell Burnett, a clinical child psychologist and youth sports psychologist. "Not anymore. It's not just a game anymore." With technology (etc) distracting our children with violence and so on, we cannot afford to ruin what sports may do for them. With sports being just one of the few things left that can contribute to success in life, education, and health, parents need not to put any sort of unnecessary pressure on their kids at such a young age, or any age for that matter, ever.
The benefits of participating in competitive youth sports are worth the drawbacks because athletes learn discipline and responsibility and sports also help athletes make and keep commitments that they will make later in life. In the article “Have Youth Sports Become Too Intense?,” the issue of youth sports and if they have become too intense is debated. Children are taught to be respectful and to be nice to others. Students who play sports are better well rounded than those who aren't.
Because of this, there is no reason that kids should be pulled out of beneficial sports.some disagree that Too much practice and specialization can hurt instead of help child athletes. (Aschwanden,2014) nevertheless, youth sports do create healthier life siles and teach lifelong lessons. “Clearly, sports can help you reach your fitness goals and maintain a healthy weight. However, they also encourage healthy decision-making such as not smoking and not drinking. Sports also have hidden health benefits such as lowering the chance of osteoporosis or breast cancer later in life.”( University of Missouri Health Care, 2018) this displays some of the exact reasons why youth sports can promote a healthy lifestyle that will last in the long run.adding on to the fact that youth sports have many mental and physical health benefits, sports teach valuable lessons you can't find any white else.in the article Benefits Of Sports To A Child's Mind And Heart All Part Of The Game Nehmond keeps going back to the same argument that “ you can't teach those lessons," she says. "You have to experience them."(Nehmond,2015) what she is thinking about is putting lots of work into things so that they turn out. Another big life lesson that kids are learning early on is that“ team sports aren't just about winning, but also about developing a solid work ethic, and learning why that's
In conclusion, it can be stated that basketball is a sport that has a positive influence on individuals from a tender age right through their adulthood. The sport has improved the overall behavior and performance of young adults, teaches them teamwork and persistence. Basketball also brings unity in communities and races alike, and has a constructive influence on the economy as a whole.
Students that are involved in sports don’t have so much spare time, so they are less likely to get into trouble. Not only that, but it keeps them active and in shape. Another reason it is good for students to be involved in sports is because it gives them a chance to make new friends and be social. Schools in

Organized sports help keep teens out of trouble, give them an opportunity to meet positive influences, provide an opportunity to develop a higher self-esteem, and enables students to set goals. Staying with sports through school helps teens stay on the right track. Students should be interested in their sport and enjoy participating and always should try to have fun!
The benefits of sports range from physical, mental, and social. Exercise keeps people fit, develops healthy muscle tone, and reduces heart and lung problems (Oak, Manali). Sports studies have shown that “youth are motivated and engaged in ways that do not happen regularly in any other parts of their lives. Their experience of sports stands out from nearly all other activities, including socializing and schoolwork, in providing enjoyment where they are exerting concerted effort toward a goal” (Larson, Reed, and Sean Seepersad). People who play sports bond over a common interest. This opens up children to meeting new kids and socializing with many more. In Kindergarten, I played baseball. Even though I did not truly understand all the mechanics of the game, I met new friends and began to develop motor skills. This was very useful starting at an early age and pushed me to stay active throughout my life.
