Yoselyn Ortega was a nanny who stabbed two of the children she watched to death. She did so because she allegedly strongly disliked their mother and wanted to seek revenge on her in the worst way she could. Ortega claims that she should not be responsible for her actions because she was suffering a psychosis which blurred her sense of reality. However, there were signs which showed that Ortega may have premeditated the murder and intended to carry out harm. In order for Ortega to be free from the consequences of the murder, there needs to be substantial evidence which proves that Ortega was suffering from a mental illness at the time in which she could not comprehend what she was doing or what was going on around her. The issue of justice is presented because the point of this story is to raise awareness about the case and for justice to be rightfully distributed to the proper people. Ortega should receive the just treatment for her action that she deserves and Mrs. Krim should receive the justice that she deserves for employing a woman who ultimately killed her loved ones. Deception is presented as the prosecutor claims that Ortega intended to carry out harm and deceive Mrs. Krim in the worst way possible. This article is presenting the issue over discovering whether or not Ortega really carried out the murder with harm or if she really was suffering a mental illness at the time of the event. I think that people with a restricted sense of rational should not be permitted to take care of young children who also lack rationale. With this being said, all babysitters and nannies should have to undergo some kind of background check to ensure that they are trustworthy, mentally stable, and reliable individuals. I think that Ortega should be punished for her action. I am actually upset that it has taken over three years to get to the bottom of this case. I do not believe that Ortega had been suffering from such an extreme mental illness. I think she is using it as an excuse to be free of consequence. I think it most likely would have been impossible for her to last so long without anyone observing the discrepancies with her mentality. The fact that she left things to be inherited and important papers for her family is an outright sign that she premeditated the murder. If she is able to be free from this case and not take responsibility I will be extremely upset. It does not seem logical that someone struggling from so many mental illnesses could last so long without being noticed or getting help. I think that justice should be given to the innocent mother who is grieving and the two innocent children who lost their lives because a person could not control their emotions.
