Xul Solar

Xul Solar’s tribute was easily the best. Not because it was my project, but because it had all the requirements that were needed. It was very hard to choose one piece. It was ours and the phoenix. The phoenix was the best work, but I picking my own because it would be easier. We made our piece of art from two pieces of work of his called Barrio and I couldn’t find the other pictures name. This was the most effective at giving a tribute to an artist.
The painting has a ton of bright colors which means keep a bright outlook on life. The sky and the ground are dark meaning a dark world. The lines that they used were impressive to say the least. The shapes we quite impressive as well. I was able to see some type of shading for shadows. I could that some shapes were supposed to be farther away than others. Their work wasn’t as good as Xul Solar himself but it was very good and impressive.
The only problem I have with their painting is that the black, which is supposed to be the ground, was very poorly colored. They could’ve been running out of time but it was a poor job. The roads were straight and it looked like they didn’t go off into the distance there was two or three roads that did but besides those two or three there wasn’t any that looked like it. I did see the direction of the buildings and the roads a little off in a couple of places, but overall I thought it was one of the better projects besides of course, the phoenix.
I feel like this painting could be one I could see in person in the next week. It is very practical and relates to a lot of people in different and sometimes the same ways. This relates to me because one time my friends and I were walking to my grandma’s house and all her neighbors were mean and none of their lights were on. My grandma is a very kind and welcoming person. Her house was the only one on her street to have z light on inside and out. It just remained of this
