In this analysis includes a summary of the characters and the issues they are dealing with, as well as concepts that are seen that we have discussed in class. Such as stereotyping and the lack of discrimination and prejudice, then finally I suggest a few actions that can be taken to help solve the issues at hand, allowing the involved parties to explain their positions and give them a few immersion opportunities to experience their individual cultures.
Subsequently what is done is that selected high schools develop a curriculum that is organized around a specific career cluster, which are like a specialized charter school. The goal is to feature a series advanced “pathway” courses that can help students to enrich their knowledge through work-based learning and academics. In turn, this specialized education will allow student to demonstrate their understanding through assessments and industry credentialing opportunities. As well these schools are enrolled in a learning exchange that have partnerships that are organized to support the programs of study by coordinating statewide networks of education partners, businesses, industry associations, labor, and other organizations (2013, p. 21-23). Consequently, the program is driven to help high school students develop a career path and to receive exploratory education that will given them an advantage in either college endeavors or in the job market.

Career and technical education courses are intended to prepare high school students to enter the work force in a skilled trade. It equips the students with the experience and education necessary to succeed in an average skill level job while maintaining the student’s interest. In an article that focuses on an aviation CTE program, a “senior policy analyst at the Morrison Institute, said that Career and Technical Education provides another opportunity for students who struggle in high school.” The assumption is that students who struggle in high school presumably do not want another four years of education to attain a bachelor’s degree. Until recently, schools have been excessively geared towards college readiness. The dogma was elementary school, high school, college, without exception. With this “one size fits all” education system in place, a different education course had to evolve. CTE courses offer a break from the tedious grind by introducing career readiness as an alternative. In place of the four years in a college, CTE programs gives student...
I’m Dom D’Souza and I’m writing in application for the Live Events + Digital Content Producer role as posted on LinkedIn on October 24, 2017. I’m currently employed by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (‘the ABC’), which is the national public broadcaster within Australia. My main career choice is to go to welding school in Tulsa, Oklahoma and get my welding certificate and become a professional welder. Right after high school I will be moving down there for welding school. I’m still deciding if I want to just go for the 7 months just for the welding certificate or if I want to go for 14 months and become a supervisor. I’m really just aiming for that first 7 months of welding school. That’s going to determine whether I go that extra 7 months or not.
To paraphrase Alexander Pope, “True ease in welding comes from art, not chance, as those move easiest who have learned to work the puddle.” The puddle is what forms when I first start a weld; however, working the puddle means controlling the weld puddle to form a consistent weld. I think college will not truly teach me how to work the puddle and will not give me the experience I want. I think technical school will truly teach me how to work the puddle and give me the best experience for the welding industry. I think college’s cost, length, job outlook, and social experience is worse versus technical school’s cost, length, job outlook, and social experience. Technical school will ease me into the welding industry with the learning of a true
There comes a time in person’s life when their must make decisions that will further go on to impact their life vastly. For many, that decision is whether to further their education or not. For those who do decide to further their education, they must choose which type of schooling is best, college or vocational schooling. Vocational schooling may appeal to those who are looking for an alternative and less expensive form of education. College, the more standard form of education, gives students the ability to have more flexibility since a variety of careers can be open to them from the major they choose. Both forms of education have its advantages and disadvantages, while benefiting the future of the student in the long run.

I ended up making my final decision to come to Penta Career Center near the middle of my Sophomore year at Swanton High School, I was originally planning to go for the Welding or Advanced Manufacturing programs. Unfortunately the Welding program was at its capacity and was no longer taking applicants. Second, Advanced Manufacturing was vastly eclipsed by my curiosity for the Powersports and Engine Systems program. Powersports and Engine Systems or more widely referred to as just Powersports is a career program ended up being the path I chose to set myself on at Penta. I have always had a massive interest
A real education is something that everyone should value, and all of us should strive to live up to our true potential. Contrary to popular belief, heading off to a four-year college to reach that true potential may not necessarily be the right choice for everyone. Vocational training is not only less expensive than college, but it is also a better use of time and provides students with skills critical for their job of interest. In six months, the class of 2014 will put on their caps and gowns and walk across the stage with their diplomas. All of those graduates will be excited to move onto the next chapter of life. But what path will they choose? Will they go with the flow, or will they take a walk down the unbeaten path?

In 2011 Mike Rowe, from the television show “Dirty Jobs”, testified before congress on the lack of support for trades education and the effects of that lack of support. He gave startling figures about the number of available trade jobs and explained that there are large funded construction jobs unable to start because of a lack of trained workers. Although Mr. Rowe was speaking specifically about trade workers, such as plumbers, electricians, and metal workers the same ideas about training today’s workers can be applied to many areas of the work force. As a society, it is commonly felt that a college degree is necessary to acquire gainful employment. That may be true in some fields, but it shouldn’t be true for all fields. With a change of thinking, the idea that “college is good” could be turned into “education is good”. Learning, whether in a 4 year college, a vocational school or as a trade apprentice, is worthy. Trade and vocational school are not a second class education. Government, industries and parents must learn how to accept and encourage our youth to seek out educational opportunities in areas in which they show interest and, most importantly, ability.

Case Study of Dell Computer Corporation Introduction Michael Dell founded Dell Computer Corporation in 1984 with a simple vision and business concept – that personal computers can be built to order and sold directly to consumers. Michael believed his approach had two advantages: (i) by passing distributors and retail dealers eliminated the markups of resellers, and (ii) building to order greatly reduced the costs and risks associated with carrying large stocks of parts, components and finished goods. Its build-to-order and sell-direct approach proved appealing to growing numbers of customers in the mid 1990s as global PC sales rose to record levels. In 1998, it was already the 3rd manufacturer in the United States with a 12% share of PC market and a nearly 6% share worldwide. The company’s fastest growing market for the past several quarters was Europe.
