My first degree is in Fine Arts and Arts Management from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada with a double major in sculpture and printmaking, as well as business of the Arts. During my short career in that field, I worked at The Canadian Ballet Company, The Canadian Opera Company, and Vancouver Arts Club Theatre; with a focus donor relations, marketing and event planning. In addition to the business of the Arts, I practiced as an artist and was part of several juried exhibitions as well as a solo exhibition. I moved on to work at a major Canadian banking institution, again in a marketing and event planning department. As support, the highlights of my experience were assisting in organizing large international trade conferences and designing an internal corporate communication brand. From there I transferred my skills to the …show more content…
During my 6 years stay, I collaborated with teachers and students to make changes to improve their world. This included starting a campus wide compost program, fundraising enough money to save 20 elephants and initiated a reading exchange program with local schools less fortunate. On a personal note, I love travelling and have visited all but 2 continents. One of the most interesting parts of travelling is exploring cultures, trying different foods and experience different traditions and for a short moment being immersed diverse communities. My highlights including meeting the people from Turkana from north Kenya, seeing gorillas up close in Rwanda, hiking to temples built into mountains in Bhutan and reaching the most southern piece of land in Ushuaia, Argentina. I also enjoy being creative whether it is freestyle dancing, fashion design, interior design or fusion cuisine. Nature is also part of my interests and I have been enjoying greatly the many wonderful parts of Italy that still remain
My purpose and goals in attending college is to make something of my life. It is a good thing. No one wants to be a nobody. But sometimes it takes time in order for one to realize this. & nbsp; Upon graduation from high school, I, like the majority of others high school graduates, had no clue what direction my life was heading or even what I wanted to become.
"mmm" regularly traveling is what I desired to do my entire life, except I've never been capable of.This is excellent to follow what people's. lives are and what places there are.I admire geography and how it influences their lives and our lives.Knowing places like Australia would make you fully understand why it is
As the fall semester of my Junior year is coming to an end I have realized I have grown as a global citizen and an academic student. I accomplished growing in both areas through field trips we have taken this semester. We have gone to two field trips as an eleventh grade class. One was to the movie theaters, and the other was college trips. The trips allowed me to grow in different ways.
In my senior year of high school, I join a program called "The International Youth Leadership Institute" which sponsored by Teachers College and Columbia University. Through this program, it afforded me the opportunity to travel outside the United States. In 1991 I was blessed with the opportunity along with 20 high school students from across the five boroughs, to travel to Senegal, West
I want to go to college for the wholesome intellectual stimulation and to get more involved with my community. College will be my last opportunity to do so before I enter the work force. At college I can be intellectually and academically challenged; I will be able to learn with friends who are as dedicated to learning and the pursuit of knowledge as I am. My goals in college are to acquire the skills that I need to lead a successful and productive life, to expand my knowledge of the world, to step out of my comfort zone, and to become more proactive.
Goyne. Session1.Journal I want to go back to school to finish my Elementary education degree to become a teacher and work with Special Needs Students. I know what it is like for some of the special needs students because I used to be one myself. I have always loved school and it was hard because I did not learn the same way as my classmates. I was always behind and I would ask help from the teacher but they would tell me that they were to busy and come back after school for help.
I love traveling as well, so if I ever have a chance, I would choose to go around the world and help people, especially people in Africa, and Vietnam. In 2010 I participated the Red Cross to help seniors living in remote area of Western Vietnam. They lived in poor conditions, eating malnutritioned food without noticing that they were poisonous. I met a little boy there who couldn’t read or write because he was suffering from dyslexia disease, or an old man who cried after he’s given a pair of glasses after years livi...
Noted authors, Brandon Chambers, is quoted saying, “If you are going to fear anything fear success. Think about what you are doing and when you succeed what life you will have.” There are several different reasons why I could stay home, work and not go to college; I could go to work every day and make more money for the house, it’s easier, and I would be less stressed. Now, on the other hand there are many reasons why I should go to school; such as further my education, make my family proud, and make myself proud. I am attending college for several different reasons. One reason is to further my education. I hate feeling like I don’t know something, I like being the person everyone comes to for information. Also, because I want to be better prepared for my major, I want to be better then the next person with the job credentials. I want to major in Social Work and Criminology. I dream to be a counselor or an clinical service social worker. I want to help people who need someone there for them someone who can guide them or even just talk too. Another reason is because I would be the first in I would be the first in my family to go to college. I feel in some type of way I am setting an example for my parents and my brother that they too can go back to school. Lastly is simply because I love school. I love knowing more and more each day. College is not for everyone, but I will be successful by grasping the benefits, preparing for the problems, taking heed from experts, and working on strategies to be successful.
Besides the food and beautiful attractions, I learn about different cultures, become aware of what is happening in different areas, and I gain new perspectives. This is one of the many reasons why I love and appreciate traveling; it is eye opening and makes me appreciate my life more. Above all, traveling allows me to gain new experiences to become a social worker and a more compassionate
I’m a student at Tompkins Cortland Community College this is my first semester as a college student. I plan to go to college for four years and only be at TC3 for this one semester, then transfer to a four year school. College has grown around the world more than ever and more people are attending college more than ever. I have chosen to go to college because of the rewards after graduation. Yes it is another four years of school but by getting more education and an extended degree gives me more opportunities for better jobs and more money. The career I have chosen to study is business administration. I am hoping that it takes me to a great job managing a company or possibly being an accountant.
I am Fasiha Abdul Rehman, holding a professional degree of Doctor of Pharmacy at 23 years of age; with a deeper interest in contributing to the understanding of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases and unveiling new information for medical advancement and betterment of mankind and I envisage Masters as crucial step in this direction.
I am an exceptional communicator with a strong work ethic who is experienced in researching Aboriginal and Metis history, exhibition design, and collaborative problem solving. As a mature student at the University of Alberta, I focused my Bachelor of Arts degree on Canadian History, and believe my experience and passion for history would contribute greatly to the Royal Alberta Museum’s relationships with, and experiences of, Alberta’s Aboriginal and Metis peoples. Prior to going to university, I worked for an Edmonton-based plumbing supply company for nearly six years. Despite quickly progressing into a leadership position, and gaining valuable experience there, recently I decided to transition my career towards what I am passionate about, and have focused my educational and work efforts on changing career paths. I have a strong passion for history, especially Canadian history, and would love to utilise my experience and education to help make history more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
During that trip my world view got dramatically changed. I went form my privileged life in the United States, to a third world foreign country where poverty raged on an everyday level. A year later, I was calling that same foreign country home. I thought that my time in the Philippines would be what changed me the most.
Many reasons convinced me to pursue a graduate level degree in social work. First the standard of education has greatly increased in the field of social work, especially regarding social work in the healthcare field. The majority of jobs in healthcare require a graduate degree, especially in my town of Kamloops, British Columbia. I hope to do case management in healthcare and most of my colleagues stated I most likely wouldn’t be a candidate for this position if I do not have a graduate level education. Furthermore, I have invested my time in a career I hope to continue for the rest of my life and this being said I want to have options and flexibility of opportunities in the field of social work. Considering social services offers such a vast array of services, it’s in my best interest to allow myself the most exposure to opportunity and earning a graduate level degree will allow this to occur.
There is nothing quite like traveling, going someplace new and finding out more about the world and yourself. Anyone can become a traveler it just takes a little bit of faith and courage. Traveling across the world or even across the country is a learning experience. When you are a traveler you see how people live and how different cultures work. It is the best educational experience you could give yourself. You see how the world works in a way no one can teach you. Seeing different cultures and people help build the person you want to be. If you are a traveler the world influences you, because when traveling, you see the good and the bad, and you learn from the right and the wrong. I am very lucky that I am able to be a traveler and see this
