From studying Media at GCSE and A Level, it has always been an ambition of mine to go to a university and study a course that I love and believe in. I have a creative flare and am very innovative; I enjoy all things that involve journalistic writing, digital design, public relations and TV and film ever since early secondary school. Media is an incredibly exhilarating subject where there will always be something new to learn. I’m fascinated by its dynamic environment in which new ideas, technologies and techniques are constantly being developed. As a hand’s on person who has a creative streak, I am driven to work in an industry where I will be able to come up with my very own ideas and then be involved in developing, nurturing and executing them. Personally, I believe that there is a lot of satisfaction …show more content…
All of these are personal traits which I believe are essential to study and also have a career in the fast paced media industry. I am currently studying Media at A2, and am pleased to say that I passed my AS exam with a high grade. I was very satisfied with my coursework where I achieved 98/100 marks. Sixth Form has taught me how to think in an all-embracing way, and gave me the resources to do what I do well by thinking progressively. I have put a lot of effort into trying to gain as much work experience within the media industry as possible. I recently partook in work experience as a fashion and journalist intern with Fabulous Magazine, a weekly glossy magazine published by News UK with The Sun. I was involved in researching and writing features for the magazine online, interviewing the public and transcribing conversations. Other duties included liaising with PR’s, writing credits and working in the fashion department; mainly assisting with the day-to-day running of the fashion
The Entertainment Industry is an expanding industry with numerous career opportunities especially for the quick learning students in today’s world. I chose to study the entertainment industry because I have always had a passion for it. I grew up with music always playing on the radio and if the radio was off, the television was tuned into some show. I know many people listen to music and watch television all the time, but there is so much more to this industry. Being so passionate has led me to studying specific things in the industry and learning the ins and outs of it, which is helping me to find a potential career. There are many people in the industry that I look up to and one person, who has made it in particular, is Debra Rathwell.
My purpose and goals in attending college is to make something of my life. It is a good thing. No one wants to be a nobody. But sometimes it takes time in order for one to realize this. & nbsp; Upon graduation from high school, I, like the majority of others high school graduates, had no clue what direction my life was heading or even what I wanted to become.
RH: What inspired you to pursue a career in the entertainment industry and especially as a screenwriter? What kind of training have you had to prepare for these jobs?
I would like to begin this reflection paper with my past experiences. First, I am an older student – obtaining my first bachelors from Hofstra University. As a sophomore in broadcast journalism, I was assigned the task of interviewing a graduate student in speech-language pathology as part of a career exploration video for incoming freshman. Filming her and her fellow classmates as they helped children overcome their stutter and gain both confidence and a voice, I was fascinated by the amazing work they were doing. But I had already begun searching for a career path in public relations, soon taking a job at a public relations firm on Long Island focusing on business clients. Within three months, I started dreaming about a career more than a
I will be applying this cycle of learning in my essay to further understand what I hope to achieve from my time at university and how to use my time and learning styles effectively to reach my goals. I chose this degree as I believe it will help me to get where I 'd like to be which will hopefully be a job within the media, possibly in advertising or copywriting.
My goals all started the day when I came home from school and my dad was packing his stuff, loading his car to leave. This happened in November of 2002. When I was 5 years old my parents got a divorce. From that day forward I have been motivated to do the best that is possible and show both of my parents that I can be better than them and actually pursue a higher education. The college I would like to attend is the University of North Texas, because I want to have a future.
My first interview was with Barbarella Fokos, who considers herself a “Jill of all trades.” She is an author, columnist, and producer, among many other titles that she holds. Her most current title is as a producer for The Artist Odyssey. The Artist Odyssey is a documentary network, which supports art and art education by interviewing and presenting up-and-coming artists. Barbarella moved her career forward by taking on multiple projects, such as writing for the San Diego Reader to producing a local art television show, to working at the major network that is NBC. She talked about both the pros and cons of taking on a career in the media; her pros, including the ability to create content that is meaningful to her and having a great amount of control over the direction her career is moving, which many others are not so lucky to have.
I’m a student at Tompkins Cortland Community College this is my first semester as a college student. I plan to go to college for four years and only be at TC3 for this one semester, then transfer to a four year school. College has grown around the world more than ever and more people are attending college more than ever. I have chosen to go to college because of the rewards after graduation. Yes it is another four years of school but by getting more education and an extended degree gives me more opportunities for better jobs and more money. The career I have chosen to study is business administration. I am hoping that it takes me to a great job managing a company or possibly being an accountant.
I am Fasiha Abdul Rehman, holding a professional degree of Doctor of Pharmacy at 23 years of age; with a deeper interest in contributing to the understanding of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases and unveiling new information for medical advancement and betterment of mankind and I envisage Masters as crucial step in this direction.
Many reasons convinced me to pursue a graduate level degree in social work. First the standard of education has greatly increased in the field of social work, especially regarding social work in the healthcare field. The majority of jobs in healthcare require a graduate degree, especially in my town of Kamloops, British Columbia. I hope to do case management in healthcare and most of my colleagues stated I most likely wouldn’t be a candidate for this position if I do not have a graduate level education. Furthermore, I have invested my time in a career I hope to continue for the rest of my life and this being said I want to have options and flexibility of opportunities in the field of social work. Considering social services offers such a vast array of services, it’s in my best interest to allow myself the most exposure to opportunity and earning a graduate level degree will allow this to occur.
The Struggle Between Good And Evil There are those who are rich and there are those who are poor, what determines who you are is what matters. This will not focus on the traditional meanings of rich and poor. Instead it will focus on the concept of morality and the concept of good and evil. This paper will be discussing human nature among other things using three different selections, Les Miserables by Victor Hugo, Much Ado About Nothing by Shakespeare, and The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. People view many different things as evil, but this will explain which characters are evil.
As a young child I always wanted to pursue a job in the Information Technology field simply because that was what my father was in and from the moment I could understand anything about computers that was our one common interest. Professionally there is nothing more in this world that I desire than to be able to say that I am a Computer Network Engineer just as my father was, personally all I want is to know that I'm happy and that I'm able to keep my family happy. My biggest driving force behind me wanting to finish this degree is because I just recently had a daughter and she has opened my eyes to the man I really want to be. No more are the days where the degree would just be something to impress my father or to be a piece of paper that can make me earn more money, what this degree means to me now is the security of knowing I will
Perhaps the strongest foundation for media education rests in the fact that increased awareness of media transforms students from passive to active participants in society. Learners must be offered hands-on application opportunities to increase their own knowledge and enjoyment of the media. The integration of formal media analysis with media production is an essential constituent of media literacy. Creative ventures, such as television or radio production, the development of a rock video or song, photography classes, script-writing, web-page development, or hypertext projects should be made available for students' participation and perusal. Students must be exposed to various forms of communication before they can recognize logical disparities, determine the strength of an argument, evaluate mass media, and actively join our democratic society as partners.
As a communications major, I plan on knowing media literacy inside and out to the best of my ability.
Completing my undergraduate degree and being the first in my family to ever attend a
