Recommended: Career plan to be a teacher

Education has been something that I have valued since I was little, since neither of my parents go the chance to attend college. I have always loved going to school and learning, at a young age I was a sponge for knowledge and my nose was constantly found in a book. As I've gotten older this idea of education has turned into a passion of mine and is why I have decided to pursue a career in teaching. I believe everything begins in a classroom because education is the foundation to success. A person must be educated either formally or informally to be capable of acquiring new abilities and ideas. Heitland, my fifth grade math teacher fueled my love of math by making extra worksheets with challenging problems for me to complete for fun on my own time. Mrs. Albertson took note of my aptitude for science and took the time to talk to me about the many different careers in science and her personal experience as a chemistry major. Mrs. Hill, although an art teacher, always gave me life lessons on public speaking and being marketable when looking for a job. These teachers are just a few examples of what I hope to be someday in my career. I want to be someone that has answers, not only about common core standards, but also about practical everyday topics. Another reason I want to pursue a career in teaching is because, like I mentioned earlier, I love to learn and when teaching you learn a lot from your students. I believe that teaching is one of the most enriching professions because as I teach students, I will learn just as much, if not more from them. I believe learning from others is a choice that helps us open our eyes to the world and become less ignorant of others' problems.
