My love for dogs influenced me to achieve my overall goal in life, that goal is to become a veterinarian. I’ve always had love for animals since I was small. I have a dog of my own and I want nothing more than to take good care of him. I’ve worked at a big chain pet store and volunteered at a local animal shelter. All theses things have influenced me to chase my goal/dream to become a Veterinarian. A Veterinarian is a professional who is in the practice of animal medicine. There are many types of veterinarians, there are veterinarians that work with small domestic animals like dogs, cats, hamsters and gerbils, they are call Small Animal Veterinarians. Others work with livestock animals, and also exotic animals like reptiles. There are also veterinarians that don't work with animals at all they work to make medicine for them and to make their food more healthy for them. There is also veterinarians that practice with wildlife or aquatic life, also called Zoological Medicine. …show more content…

Being a veterinarian for me is more than being around animals, but it’s the fact that you take on the responsibility of the animal’s life, some responsibilities are to examine, treat injuries and diagnose any problem they might have and many more, and having theses responsibility means a lot to me. Working at a Petco also helped me realize how much there is than to just feeding or bathing your pet. Also Volunteering made me open my eyes on how many animals need medical care. There is going be a high demand for veterinarians in the few coming years and with that there will be job security in the Veterinary
