Having graduated with First Class Honours from University of London, I am someone who is able to set clear goals for myself and will be highly focused towards it. My ability to excel academically demonstrates that I possess certain qualities; discipline and tenacity. Setting the goal of where I would be in the next 3 years is important, but having the qualities to get to there, is essential. However, after reading through numerous job application criteria, I soon realize that to be a compliance officer, many companies require a least 3 years of relevant experience in the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) sector. As such, I knew where I needed to position myself if I ever wanted to be a compliance officer. And that is how I started my first job in Citibank as an Anti-Money Laundering Analyst undertaking level 1 transaction monitoring review.

After only working for 2 years, I was elated to receive news of a promotion within Citibank to the Financial Investigation Unit (FIU) conducting Level 2 review. In February this year, I will be promoted to my new team. This is exactly what I have been working so hard for and this is where I see myself in the next 3 years, being a compliance officer embarking on this new journey.

However, I acknowledge that this small advancement in my career is not an end point, but simply a milestone. Fully aware of the fact that there are much more to learn and understand, this ICA Advanced Certificate in Governance, Risk & Compliance course would provide me with the essential skills and comprehensive knowledge to tackle the challenges in my work as a compliance
