As the younger generation gets closer and closer to college age, we wonder where we are going to go or if we even want to attend. People always tell you that education is important and you will use this knowledge throughout your entire life, so when choosing a college it’s important that you choose a very educational school. For those reasons New York University was an amazing choice for me. New York University, also known as Violet, has it’s ups and downs of being located in such an urban area. The private school is located around Washington Square, and Washington Square Park which is a very busy spot. Things you can do around the college include: visiting art galleries, food touring, it also has a lot of nightlife. With so many students the classes are big, the average enrollment of students out-of state is 64% and the average in-state is 36%. New York University is a very mixed …show more content…
school they have 5% that are African American/black, 20% that are Asian, 29% White, 4% that are Latino, 7% that are another race. There are more women in the university, 58%, men only cover 42% of the university. Many of these people cheer for the school mascot which has a long history of being called the Violet, the name changed in 1984 that year the name had changed to the Bobcat. New York University was founded in April 18, 1831 and the person who founded the university was Albert Gallatin. The years the private school has been, open many famous people have gone to the University. Famous people who have gone to New York University like, Adam Sandler, James Franco, Whoopi Goldberg, Melissa Joan Hart, Elizabeth Olsen, and Idina Menzel, say they would love to go back and see how much the university has changed or if it has changed at all. The school is really famous for its athletic and major programs, which is what usually draws people to the school. The school has a total number of 25,722 undergrads and the total number of grads is 24,284. NYU has many programs, some of the most famous programs are Visual and Preforming Arts, Social Sciences, and Business Management. The program I am most interested is Art and Science (journalism), they offer honor tracks and the program has many activities to do outside the classroom. Some people can’t make it to the campus of the University, but they do offer online degrees all you have to do is go on their website. The University also offers the study abroad program, where you can study out of the country, you are offered over thirteen options on where to study. If you think you aren’t able to handle the pressure of NYU they offer tutoring, its not free but it can be discounted or you could show up to a group tutoring). The university offers many places to study, the library, computer labs, writing centers, and cafes. NYU has classes scattered all throughout the campus. Thankfully, you can choose your classes; the university offers day and night classes and the time in-between classes depends on what your classes are. When students have free time New York University has extra activities that the attendees can do. Students can volunteer or spend time doing service learning, and if you want to help some other students you could become a mentor or an advisor. If you're into politics you could run for student council and have a say in NYU, or if you are a strong believer in God the school offers church/religious groups. Some people do sports to pass time, NYU offers many sports for both men and women. Men can do Track and Field, Swimming and Diving, Wrestling, Volleyball, Cross Country, Basketball, Fencing, Golf, Soccer, and Tennis. The sports women are eligible to do are very similar: Basketball, Fencing, Golf, Cross Country, Track and Field, Swimming and Diving, Volleyball,Softball, Tennis, and Soccer. You can win many awards at NYU and the following are some of them; Freshman Athlete of the Year, Sophomore Athlete of the Year, Junior Athlete of the Year, and Senior of the Year. The University also offers clubs like intramurals, artists’ guild, band club, and many more, but intramurals sound like so much fun; this is when you play sports but just for fun. New York University lets students attending the college live off campus and if you don't have your own car there is transportation like buses, subways, and taxi’s. If you do live on campus they offer dorms and apartments for you, they have small restaurants on campus that you can go eat at like Starbucks, Kimmel Market Place, Dunkin Donuts, Sidestien, Argo Teas, Lipton Dining Hall, and they also have the cafeteria. There are also places off-campus where you can go eat Chick-Fil-A, Chipotle, and Blue Smoke. If you ever find yourself sick NYU has a Wellness center and a Safe and Health program, or if you feel like you could shed a few pounds the university offers a gym. In the summer, New York University gives the opportunity to children and some of the attendees of the college to go to a summer camp offered by the college. The greek life at the University is very popular, they have seven sororities just for women, thirteen fraternities for just men, and fourteen fraternities and sororities for both genders. The process for applying at NYU is very simple and they definitely want to make it easy on you, first you have to go to the New York University website and click on the link to the awards you are interested in, second rake time to absorb the websites content, third create a spreadsheet, fourth step is to begin drafting your essay, the very last step is to begin the online Application form.
The application cost is only $70.00, the tuition cost is $46,170. Scholarships at the college that are offered are Engineering, Art, Athletics, and Academics. The GPA requirement is 3.71. The SAT and the ACT score minimums are 1410, for the SAT, and 30, for the ACT. NYU is a very competitive school, but who doesn't like a little competition? The school offers financial aid for people that cant afford much, the amount of money you get depends on what you family income is, you're education, and many more. If you don't know where anything is the university offers touring at the Welcome Center, it is open on Fridays from 9am - 5pm, the Welcome Center is also open on Saturdays from 10am -
4pm. College is supposed to be an amazing experience and at NYU you’ll definitely achieve that. The university is competitive and has lots of people to compete with. The school really focuses on education and your experience at NYU and they make sure your experience at NYU is enjoyable. The college is a little far away from home, but its only 615.9 miles away and you’ll be gaining independence and learning how to be responsible. Though, the school doesn't have that much of an acceptance rate, 32%, it still has great programs and other things students attending the university will love.
... the cafeteria over 100 seats are available, so the surrounding will actually help people to be more engaging to their friends. Also, there are many events was held in the building, such as ISU after dark and some very significant speeches were taken place inside the building. The most exciting event I have been through was the orientation. It was taken place in the “Sun Room”, where can be a hall of party and auditorium of a speech. Outside the room there are soft sofa available to students to seat down and read, and the beverage bar will not be far, so why not get a drink and seat for a novel.
Why do I want to go to Brophy? It is quite simple actually, I want to go to Brophy because I believe the school and staff will give me the best chances of achieving my goals in life. Also, I want to go because when I attended the school during a shadow day I felt that I belonged there and that my personality fit right into what the school expects and wants in its students. Finally, I want to go to Brophy because I do not think that there is another high school in Arizona that is quite like it, from the school’s athletics to its academics and staff. In conclusion, I want to go to Brophy because the school is unique and matches my personality, giving me the best chances of going anywhere in life, while enjoying it.
The main component I look for in college is their commitment to further my studies. I feel this college will provide an ingenious culture within the science field, therefore rendering myself with the building blocks necessary to later pursue the medical field. Not only does UNCW devote itself towards their student’s undergraduate years, but also by providing Professional pathways such as Pre-Medicine, students such as myself can go into Professional schools better prepared. In addition to my interest in the academics the school has to offer, I also marvel at the amount of extracurricular activities available to the student body. One student organization in particular is the Greek Life. When my mother attended this school, she was an avid member

I have always been intrigued by Rutgers University and all that it has to offer. After graduating highschool, I was unimpressed with my GPA and the work ethics I developed. At that moment, I decided that my next steps towards earning my degree would be to give it my all and put as much effort as possible towards education. After going to Brookdale, I wanted to challenge myself; attending Rutgers University is without a doubt the best way to do so. Rutgers University is unlike any other school. Not only is
...tion fees were raised to help recover some cash that may be lost after tuition cuts. Additionally, NYU’s enrollment rate would increase while its admission rates would decrease, earning them a larger body of students and higher college ranking, which may in turn award NYU more money in donations than ever before.
Noted authors, Brandon Chambers, is quoted saying, “If you are going to fear anything fear success. Think about what you are doing and when you succeed what life you will have.” There are several different reasons why I could stay home, work and not go to college; I could go to work every day and make more money for the house, it’s easier, and I would be less stressed. Now, on the other hand there are many reasons why I should go to school; such as further my education, make my family proud, and make myself proud. I am attending college for several different reasons. One reason is to further my education. I hate feeling like I don’t know something, I like being the person everyone comes to for information. Also, because I want to be better prepared for my major, I want to be better then the next person with the job credentials. I want to major in Social Work and Criminology. I dream to be a counselor or an clinical service social worker. I want to help people who need someone there for them someone who can guide them or even just talk too. Another reason is because I would be the first in I would be the first in my family to go to college. I feel in some type of way I am setting an example for my parents and my brother that they too can go back to school. Lastly is simply because I love school. I love knowing more and more each day. College is not for everyone, but I will be successful by grasping the benefits, preparing for the problems, taking heed from experts, and working on strategies to be successful.
As the school to one of the greatest and impactful leaders of our time, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., having the opportunity to study in the same environment as Dr. King would be an honor for me. It is almost mind-blowing to learn that this was the school where Dr. King was inspired to begin his path towards the civil rights movement with non-violence. Ever since I was young, I have always had this strong sense of justice, to become someone who was not afraid of change or to make a difference. For that reason I deeply admire the work and drive of these type of leaders such as Ida. B. Wells, Gloria Steinem, and of course Coretta Scott King and Dr. King himself. Although I plan to study in mathematics and science, social and ethic issues are also
When you associate anything with New York City it is usually the extraordinary buildings that pierce the sky or the congested sidewalks with people desperate to shop in the famous stores in which celebrities dwell. Even with my short visit there I found myself lost within the Big Apple. The voices of the never-ending attractions call out and envelop you in their awe. The streets are filled with an atmosphere that is like a young child on a shopping spree in a candy store. Although your feet swelter from the continuous walking, you find yourself pressing on with the yearning to discover the 'New York Experience'.
As a young woman growing up in an urbanized setting and attending public schools all of my life, when the time came to start planning and searching for colleges, I searched for schools that I felt fit my persona, that I would be comfortable attending for some of the most integral years of my life. My search included schools such as Temple University, and Pennsylvania State University, higher education institutions that allowed me to challenge myself, but at the same time would put me in a setting where I would be with others just like myself, fitting into the standard American university fashion.
If I had a nickel for everytime an adult asked me what I wanted to do for the rest of my life; needless to say I would not be worried about a thing. Teens tend to get easily frustrated with this question, but we never realize the importance of it. The truth is, we too ask ourselves this question and for whatever reason, maybe it's our youth or our short attention spans, we can not even give ourselves an answer. A couple years ago, I was this such teen. I was backed into a corner; my grandparents had just asked me this infamous question. For once, I actually thought about it and I spouted out, "Well, Pop Pop... Mamaw, I am going to be a poltician." I was the cause for many "jaw-droppings" that day, but I felt too excited to worry with that. I finally knew what I wanted to be, and oh, how I wanted to be a poltician so badly. For a teen, I guess it is rather odd that I chose this career, but there are many reasons that transformed a twelve year old, who still stubbornly believed in leprechauns, into the passionate young woman, whom I know today.
Evelyn wrote “The survey also found that professors may not be challenging students as much as they could be.” (Evelyn) The options that are possible in this area are more than just giving out more demanding homework for the students, instead the teachers and faculty could encourage their students to branch out and try getting involved with clubs or extracurriculars. Homework and projects from class can definitely be tough and taxing, but primarily those are general education courses; clubs revolve more around creative subjects, or community work. This focus on the direct field that an individual is either interested in or that is connected to a class is extremely beneficial because it allows the person to learn more about their particular and applicable needs. Having an outlet where students are able to exercise a different part the student’s brain, all of that could have a very positive affect in their schooling careers. Another method is if a student is interested in numbers or finances, they would prefer an outlet that revolves around those interest. Most clubs are creative and gives students a break from the general education classes. But to bring those clubs to the campus would only add to the value of the Magnolia campus. In an article written by Grace Chen “The Benefits of Community College Clubs” she says “in Garden City, New York, has a diverse list of professional clubs, including organizations in accounting, science, and Wall Street finance.” (Chen) Adding various clubs brings quality to the campus, but it can also lead to conflicts among the clubs. To keep everything organized and running smoothly there would need to be some of democracy over the clubs. Having a board consisting of two people representatives of each club. That includes the sponsor who represent the needs of the club, while
They have many fields of studies that anyone can go into, but I’m specifically going for nursing. There’s a lot of classes someone can take for nursing at IUPUI. The housing there is usually around 2,500-3,000 dollars, unless the student is renting a room at an apartment near the school, then it might be around 4,000 a year. They also have a lot of athletic programs there, Including Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Cross country, Track and field, etc. They also have a lot a lot of intramural sports there like, basketball, dodgeball, soccer, racquetball, flag football, golf, ultimate frisbee, kickball, sand/indoor volleyball, and a couple
