“So you could go to school and learn, because it’s your job.” “Well if it’s my job to learn, why don’t I get paid for my work?”
Students everywhere around the world go to school for education and learning activities. They learn many things that adults learned, each and every day. Though they get an education, they get report cards also. But why don’t they get paid for learning the same thing that adults learned when they were their age?
Another thing is, students go to school for at least eight hours daily, including private schools. While most adults work 12 hours a day, but thing is they get paid for what they do. Students stay in classrooms all day and learn to be prepared for the future ahead of them. So did adults, and yet they get appreciated by money but students don’t. Schools would only do assemblies and just give out

If students feel valued for the hard work they do in school, they will most likely attend their classes, and feel more connected. The effect of this is, the more students will learn about subjects they did and get paid for it is just by them having good grades. The more the district pays students for their hard work and good grades, the more students will most likely graduate high school. See how easy it is? To sum up many students will happily graduate high school in the future.
Along with another reason, paying students for their grades helps students understand the meaning of business in the future. They’ll understand why they need it and how they earn it. If students could earn their share of money for their grades. They will understand the consequences of a job. Don’t parents want their children to know what the world is really like? Don’t they want their children be successful in life? Same to teachers also, they teach students and want them to be successful, so give them the appreciation they need then. To sum up students will know the reality of
According to the author of “Cash Courses”, “The monetary rewards motivate many kids, especially those from underprivileged families, to come to class when they would otherwise stay home” (“Cash Courses” 1). Students who come from families who do not have a lot of money, will want to attend school to earn extra money to use for themselves to buy basic necessities. Rewards motivate students to attend school; therefore, they obtain more knowledge given by the teacher
To begin, with, school should not pay students for good grades because they are constrained to earn good grades. Evidence from the NEA article claims, “Many teachers also say paying students for grades leads to practical problems in their classroom, including pressure to inflate grades.” This leads to kids trying to get good grades, which can cause stress because if they have one dreadful grade, they will worry a lot about not getting as much money. The effect of this is students will be distressed about grades that they won’t have any fun and won’t rest their brains. Clearly, students are pressured to earn good grades if they are getting
Can you imagine having a job for nine months out of the year that makes you work from 8:15 AM until 3:30 PM on every weekday and not getting paid for all of your hard, tedious work? To most of you that sounds ridiculous. That’s because it is. Students have to go through this painful process from September to May and usually don’t have anything to show for it. They dedicate their whole lives to getting all A’s on their report card and when they finally do all they usually get is a pat on the back. Thus, students should get paid for having good grades because it takes lots of hard work to get those grades, it would cause more students to strive for good grades, and it would eliminate the need for a job, which would allow for more studying time.
People may say it is a bad idea to pay children for good grades . In some ways, this could be true like…. Kids will never just want to learn to be successful, their main focus will be to do the best they can and get rewarded. Another reason why some people disagree is because they
All the students rush out the door as the school bell rings, taking out their extravagant and expensive phones. Everyone leaves, and just by the sight of the empty hallway, there are calculators, textbooks and more electronics that are worth a great amount of money. Students are not responsible for their belongings. In fact, they are not responsible at all, losing them, leaving them in the hallways and change rooms unattended, dropping them. They will never entirely understand the value and responsibility that is put forth for them to have that phone. However, they would understand if the phone was bought with their own money. This leads to why students should be paid for having good grades in school. Students should be paid for good grades due to these three reasons: it encourages students to work harder, it will help expand and grow the economy and finally, they will understand the importance of responsibility.
An estimated two hundred and fifty million children ages six to fourteen work for pennies a day so that their families have food to eat and a place to live. One half of these children work full-time. 85% of these children come from Asia and Africa. These children don’t want to be working, but their parents normally force them to. Because of this, the children miss out on the opportunity to be educated. Remember, children are the future> And with millions of them locked up, never learning how to read or write, or even simple math skills, what kind of future do we have? Most of these children work because of poverty. If your income is high you will probably be picked to attend school, in other words if you have money than you can go to school. Some children work because the schools are too overcrowded for them to attend.
Some people may say that students should get paid for good grades because there will be a rise in attendance. A source that supports this is Weston from Johns Hopkins University stating, “When attendance rises there is a direct effect on scores, and it is almost always good”. No doubt that this can be challenged because, what will happen once the schools stop paying the students? It just means that the students will lose motivation and continue to put off work until the very last minute. For the reasons above, students who get paid for grades won’t end up with good, lasting
middle of paper ... ... If students got paid for having good grades, then they would be less likely to commit crimes such as murder, assault and auto theft. The economy of the U.S.A. gains by paying students to get through high school and go beyond. There are many estimates out there evaluating just the cost benefit that can be gained from having students graduate high school, and it seems that as a country we can save anywhere from two to seven thousand dollars for each student who completes high school.
To begin with, the average teacher works a lot longer than a 40 hour work week, yet that is all that they are salaried. Educators spend much time at school before and after hours for assigned duties. For example, there are morning and afternoon duties that accumulate hours that are not paid. Teacher also stay late for meetings and parent conferences. At home, there are papers to be graded, and lesson plans that have to be ready for the next day.
School can be frustrating for students. Going to school, doing homework, and then repeating it all over again the next day can become quite tedious. Especially when one feels as if they are not gaining anything from doing well in school, it causes students to have very little motivation to complete their schoolwork. Students might be motivated if there was some sort of incentive for attending school and doing well at it. A law should be passed that requires students to be paid for doing well in school because it gives them motivation, helps them with financial issues, and allows them to learn how to manage money more effectively.
Everyone has to work to earn money, but what if they aren’t getting paid enough? That affects their education and themselves financially. Now, textbooks are very expensive, they range as much as two hundred dollars for
Students get the opportunity to learn responsibility and if they participate in their college fees they are more motivated to work harder to get good grades. The role of parents in the education of their children is of utmost importance and usually children of more active parents who take part in the school life study much better than those ones, who ignore school issues. When someone has to pay for either their own, or their child's, education they become more involved in the entire education process (Lively, 2016). The third involved side, teachers, also just can benefit from paid college education. Not because of the salary, but because of the liberty to teach what they think is the best for their students.
Little do they know what they do with that money. Specific reasons for my opinion include it will make things much harder for them in the future, you don’t know what the money they get is used on, and you could save a lot of money and spend it on the kids in a different way, such as paying for a band instrument for them. Some kids only try on grades because they know they will be paid if they do well. What if they start to think
There are problems arising such as parents arguing, minors demanding for money, and the children not knowing how to use the money given to them from cash for grades. Enormous amounts of complaints from parents about how splendid their child is and showing their unnecessary behavior, this is unacceptable when presenting cash for grades. Yelling, swearing, pushing, take place in the meetings between teachers and parents .When money is presented greed takes all the respect in citizens causing “conflict with students and parents” (Flannery). The parents being the role model of the children show them various unpleasant behaviors that influence them.
