Bobby Unser once said, “Success is where preparation and opportunity meet.” Everyone invisions themselves being successful, but not everyone takes advantage of the opportunities handed to them to prepare themselves for success. Granting me an opportunity to take part in Chesterfield County’s Career and Technical Center would the foundation for fulfilling my ambition of becoming an Orthodontist. Given the chance to take the Dental Occupation course at Chesterfield County’s Career and Technical Center, would be essential in furthering my opportunity into becoming an orthodontist in the near future. I have been interested in engaging in this dental program for several years now. I have heard from numerous people that taking this rigorous program has opened many doors for them. Especially the second year of the program, in which only selected students are chosen to go perform the skills they have been taught on actual patients at a dental office. Several have told me that having the chance to work on patients has given them more experience with how to interact and better their communication with patients and see how the dentist field works on a daily basis. …show more content…

I became interested in the dentist field when I myself had braces. Watching them place the brackets on teeth, make molds, and insert colorful rubbers in between the brackets was something I became curious to see. I’m also interested in becoming a pediatric dentist because how much I cherish kids.
